Spring break visit
We had the most wonderful stay at this home! This was our 9th visit to IOP. We have stayed in a different house each time and this was our favorite. It felt like home and was so, so clean. The owners were incredibly responsive and have created a beautiful place to relax and enjoy. I would not hesitate to book!

Hello and welcome! I'm originally from Michigan, but the Isle of Palms has been a part of my life since my first year. Every summer of my childhood was spent here, surrounded by the island's beauty and charm. About 30 years ago, I made the decision to turn this small, enchanting barrier island into my full-time home. Here, I've had the joy of raising my triplet boys and actively participating in our community, serving on the City Council for over two decades.

What I love most about being a host is sharing the magic of the Isle of Palms with others. This island has been a backdrop to so many wonderful memories in my life, and it's a pleasure to help create those lasting memories for our guests. Whether it's your first visit or a return trip, I'm excited to share with you all the things that make this place so special. From its serene beaches to its vibrant community life, there's much to explore and enjoy here. Welcome to our little slice of paradise!

Why they chose this property

I chose this neighborhood for its ideal location, amenities, and suitability for my family's lifestyle. Living across from the city's recreation department offered me direct access to acres of public land, providing abundant space for my triplet boys to play and explore without the burden of maintenance. This proximity to recreational facilities was a significant advantage, ensuring my children had a safe and engaging environment to grow up in.

Moreover, being tucked away from the busy beach traffic while still within easy walking distance of the beach struck a perfect balance between tranquility and accessibility. This location allowed me to enjoy the best of both worlds – the peacefulness of a secluded area and the convenience of being close to the beach. It's a setting that caters to a young family's needs and offers a relaxing and picturesque environment.

What I enjoy most about this neighborhood is its central position as the island's heart. This centrality likely means a strong community spirit and easy access to various island amenities – from shops and restaurants to cultural and community events. The neighborhood seems to provide a harmonious blend of natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and community engagement, making it ideal for raising a family and creating lasting memories.

What makes this property unique

Our property is truly unique due to its rich history and the care we've put into preserving its character. JC Long's vision for the Isle of Palms, with its small ranch homes built for military families at the old Charleston Navy Base, is a testament to the past. While these homes have become increasingly rare due to development, our vacation rental has survived hurricanes and has been meticulously renovated, boasting its distinct personality.

What truly sets us apart is the addition of a beautiful pool that provides a refreshing oasis on scorching summer days. On cooler evenings, you can enjoy the warmth of the pool's heater, creating a relaxing atmosphere after your day's adventures. This combination of historic charm and modern comfort makes our property stand out from the rest, offering our guests a unique and unforgettable vacation experience.
