We had two family weddings in the area; the cottage was perfect for us. Clean, beautiful view and comfortable beds; great TV and WiFi. Crystal lake is charming- we will book again.
Beautiful quiet location with view of Crystal Lake. Enjoyed renting a pontoon boat as well. We used to rent a cottage up here so it holds special memories for our family. Wonderful!😊
This was our very first experience renting a cottage on VRBO and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Jennifer was amazing and communicated with us wonderfully. The cottage was perfect for our family. The view and location were great. Our teenager and his friend were able to walk to the park, the beach, up town to the stores and even went to the movies.
My elderly father and I enjoyed our stay at this cottage, especially the view of the lake from the living room. Unfortunately, the weather dipped into the 40s and there was no heat in the cottage, which we weren't aware of. The host was immediately responsive to our concern, though, and sent over a couple of space heaters which helped a lot. The cottage is very modest and could use a few more upgrades (like more comfortable seating in the living room--the futon is good for an extra bed but not good for sitting!) All in all, it was suitable for the location and our visit to the area. A family with children would really enjoy the backyard and lake access, in warmer weather, of course!
A family wedding was planned and my nieces and nephews were able to attend and stay in Jennifer's property! It was very well appointed and clean. Perfect for two couples and one toddler! Very easily accessible to downtown KRYSTAL within walking distance of playgrounds and breakfast spots! They had a great time!
We loved that the cottage had dock access! We brought our small boat and really enjoyed not needing to take it out of the water every night. We had wonderful communication with the host and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Since we had a complete rain out day, we enjoyed the board games which came with the cabin. We loved our stay and would come back for another stay!
The property was really clean. The check-in process was super easy. The owner was very responsive to questions. There’s a huge front yard for outdoor games or just to enjoy the view. It’s not on the main road around Crystal so the road noise was quiet.
Enjoyed the lake and the ability to swim right there by the dock. Would recommend stairs on the side of dock for easier access to get down into the lake. The cottage had all the necessities we needed. We Just brought our own beach towels and camp chairs for fire pit. Charcoal and lighter fluid for BBQ. You can buy firewood a short distance from the cottage. The cottage is dated and bedrooms small. But overall, we enjoyed our stay!
We spent a long weekend here last year and loved it so much we booked again! The home is exactly as listed and met all of our needs. There was even some nice updates made to the rental since last year! It was extremely easy to get into contact with the host. She even stopped by to say hello and drop off some sweets. We love the place and hope to stay again!
I rented this place for extra space for our family reunion. Lots of elderly people in my family requiring a good bed to sleep on instead of air mattresses and sofas. Fmamily from Florida stayed and enjoyed the cabin, the view of the water and close proximity to grocery and other stores. They sure enjoyed it.
This property is an older style cottage. It is set on a nice piece of property and has a nearby dock that we used to access our kayaks. The lake is smaller and the water was warm. We even caught a few fish! The inside of the cottage is dated and the bedroom carpets dirty. The front full bed was comfortable for my husband, but I woke up daily with pains in my neck and shoulders.
A couple of fans did not work. The can opener did not work. Neighbor right next door was friendly and left us alone when we said no thank you. As we were packing up today someone was weed whacking all around @ 9 a.m. check out is 11. Other than that we loved that we had a dock to keep the boat in the water. The kids loved swimming and boating. Thanks again.
Stand up shower leaks in corn all over the floor, other wise that it was a great time may rebook again, left a business card with brother on maybe some future work if need on the decks and trailer or even the cabin if interested.
Great little cottage with lake access. Plenty of space, lake was perfect, as was the small public access beach. People were friendly and town was accessible and varied. Carson city was also close and we took advantage of playground and splash pad there. Saturday night was the crystal speedway races which we way more fun than expected. Overall we had a great stay. Thanks!!
We had a really wonderful time while staying here for the week! We were concerned about the size of the AC unit when we got there, but it kept up pretty good. The bedrooms did have fans that helped. The town of Crystal was fun with the Old School movie theatre, 3 nice restuarants, hardware store, grocery and DG. I will say that that you will drive a ways to find find the touristy things to do, as this is out in the middle of farmland. We did notice that Michigan folks don't wave when you drive by but we did meet some really nice people! We would recommend a quite stay here anytime!

Why they chose this property
This property has wonderful views of the lake and is perfect for any getaway. You will have access to a private dock across the street from the cottage, a large front yard, secluded enough for privacy but also close to the town's activities, groceries, food, and ice cream. There is also public access to the lake and a boat launch which gives the guests the option to enjoy the whole 724 acres of Crystal Lake if they choose.
