The 2nd bedroom is smaller, but does have a closet and dresser. The utility room has a washer and dryer that guests may use as needed. The bathroom is spacious with a new vanity sink, toilet, and a usable shower stall. The large open living space contains a counter height dining table with a leaf, leather couch with dual recliners with a matching swivel recliner. A futon is located against the living room wall to create an additional sleeping space for 1-2 guests. The updated kitchen boasts quartz countertops, a massive stainless sink (big enough to bathe your toddlers), and a handy double oven with an over the range microwave. There is new vinyl plank flooring throughout the home.

Cozy, clean nest
Only disappointment was that we couldn’t stay longer. Angie communicated throughout the process-even sending condolences when she found out we were in the area for brother in law’s funeral. Very clean, cozy, and easy to find everything, ie instructions to TV, and house rules. Beautiful view from patio of small lake-moon was full! If ever in the area again, would definitely stay here again :)

About the host

Host profile image
Our family is from the greater Central Michigan area. We have called a few places home over the years (DeWitt, Lansing, Shepherd, White Cloud) and now in Vestaburg! We enjoy sharing lake life with others and we just love hearing about our guests' experiences. It's been great to meet people from all over the world in our little spot on earth!

Why they chose this property

We have been coming to the area since 2002. We have lived here full time, part time, and then full time again. I have never found so much peace as I have found here just sitting on the deck looking out at the lake listening to the sounds around me. The peace and tranquility of the lake is what called us to build a home and move here full time. The opportunity to buy the cottage next door came up and the timing was right! This marked 2 things off my bucket list....home renovation and hosting a vacation rental. After the kids are gone, I may open our main home up as full service bed and breakfast, but for now the cottage rental is my little dream!

What makes this property unique

It truly has a cottage feel! My grandparents had a similar cottage on Horsehead Lake. My best memories were made at a lake cottage and I think that this cottage provides that for our guests! Also, as hosts we truly want you to have a great time and we are here to help in any way we can. We won't be noticeable, but if you need something just ask!
