Overall it was an ok experience. Check in and cleanliness were on point. There was only a half roll of toilet paper for us so we bought our own. I found it odd that there were opened/used shampoo/conditioner/soaps and a used razor in the shower, I feel those could have been put away for guests. I also don’t think it’s appropriate to ask for cash to be left for use of the washer/dryer, especially without expressing that in the listing. The yard definitely needed attention as we felt we were walking through a jungle to get down the broken pathway to the backside of the yard/basement entrance, we didn’t feel comfortable using the back yard due to the bugs that could have been mostly abated by proper yard care. One last con is the fridge doesn’t get cold enough to store milk and the freezer barely works for ice cubes.
Now the pros: the location is perfect. Seriously can’t get any better for those wanting to explore all the small towns and the lakes. We even took a day and went to Mackinac Island which is only a couple hour drive. Highly recommend sleeping bear dunes national lakeshore, glen arbor, and Art’s Tavern. The VRBO was clean and there were plenty of linens provided that were super fluffy and soft!
