This was our third visit to this lovely little cottage. Relaxing and close to Leland, Traverse City, and Sleeping Bear area. On a nice fishing lake and walkable to Lake Ann Town center. We enjoyed our stay very much and will likely be back next year.
This was our second time staying in this cottage and like the first time, everything was perfect. There are many good hikes within a short distance and just a short walk into town for great beer music and food. Many other options are just a short drive away.
Really a "find" for a Northern Michigan cottage by a stillwater private lake, with a nice layout, both indoors and out. The fire pit area is like a slice on sandy beach, but only 40 feet away from a nice deck with a grill and seating for five. Indoor spacing and sleep accomodations are limited to four, but the outdoor seating can accommodate 6-8 for a cookout bonfire (plenty of beach and deck chairs). Also, its just off the main street of the tiny town of Lake Ann, but nowhere near any traffic or noise. We were able to all to the tiny downtown (recommend the brewery/pizza restaurant with outdoor "beer garden" seating and live music). And our hosts went to the max, fetching a new electric tea pot to accommodate my wife! We plan on coming back next year lor the year after.
My wife and I came up for our 31st anniversary. We usually stay right in or very near TC. We found this place online and it was amazing! Beautiful quiet lake, the house was very nice and we had everything we needed. The little town right around the block was amazing from the Lake Ann Grocery to the Lake Ann Brewery and the restaurant next door. Live music every night at the brewery and great food you can pick up and eat at the surprisingly large venue behind. We will definitely be back!

Charming small cottage even with toddler in tow.
Our small family of 3 stayed a full week in this wonderful little cottage. It has a single bedroom, which is fine for parents that cosleep, but a bit small for a packnplay. The bathroom is rather large though and we "created" second bedroom for our 20 month old in there and we were able to stay up late without the toddler turning into a gremlin. It was perfect for us, though some may be uncomfortable with this arrangement.
We loved the screened porch and enjoyed a number of meals listening to the ducks on the lake. The dock, down a staircase from the house, was a great place to visit with the fish and turtles that swim right up to it. We even took the paddle boat out a couple of times.
The place is not really located on a swimming pond, but is located just a few minutes walk from the village of Lake Ann's small town beach. If you are planning on swimming in the lake, be sure to take water shoes as the rocky bottom was a little hard on the feet. Do bring beach towels because you will not be able to launder towels that get messy at the beach.
There is a small general store in town that has most things you may have forgotten but you will pay for convenience. Across from there is a small town park perfect for playing with children. Also don't forget the pancake breakfast I'm town on Sunday.
Lake Ann was a short drive from Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. It would also be a great base to explore the wine trails though we were not able to do that with a toddler in tow.
We would stay here again it was a wonderfully relaxing stay. Overall the property was as described. It was clean and Jeanine and Dan were welcoming and helpful.
Overall, the property is great and as described. Two things I would suggest at this point with all the amenities you have- that would be to switch to cotton sheets and consider replacing the mattress.
For a man and his little daughter, that part of Lake Ann was phenomenal. Nature at the lake, comfortable inside, fire pit was an added benefit with tons of wood already cut for me. Kitchen, bedrooms, living room, and A/C unit was very efficient. The community with restaurants and brewery was very entertaining. Great spot!
My girls and I have been staying here for years. It’s close to everything we want to see and do. Love the new driveway, it made the whole place feel different. More private.
Beautiful location. So much to do within 30 minutes… Convenient for Kayaking, hiking, shopping, breweries, wineries, restaurants and breathtaking scenery.
Cottage was nice. We were out exploring most of the time but was perfect to come back after a days activity and have a comfortable place to get a nights rest.
I have stayed a week here for about four years in a row. The hosts are always helpful. I love this location. You can hear live music at the Lake Ann Brewery or explore the attractions in the area.
This was our second time staying at the cottage and once again it was just perfect. Enjoyed the fire pit with friends and beautiful sunsets. Highly recommend!
Sweet cottage!...Lovely, quiet lake!...Easy walk to the grocery store, restaurant, park with playground! The cottage was a perfect size for the 3 of us.
We enjoyed our stay very much!!...Would definitely give a thumbs up! 😊
We absolutely loved our stay here! The location is wonderful with food, grocery, and a brewery just a ten minute walk away and the property itself was just wonderful. The enclosed porch and gorgeous lake views were my favorite and my husband had a blast fishing on the dock and with the row boat. We also enjoyed the quietness of the area, as well as the plentiful outdoor seating and made use of the gas grill twice! We drove to the Traverse City Cherry Festival twice and then also went to Sleeping Bear Dunes and both were just 20-30 min away. My son loved playing outside, sleeping in the porch, and really enjoyed the playground and ice cream that were ten minutes away! We will hopefully be back soon!
I have stayed here several times. I enjoy fishing on the lake, but there is always something happening in Lake Ann. The microbrewery, restaurant and well stocked country store are within walking distance.
Out of our many trips back to visit Northern MI since moving away, this rental is our new favorite! Bryan Lake access was blissful and the host’s thoughtfulness was unrivaled - we had everything we needed! My husband , son, and I had just the right space and the reliable internet connection made working remotely a breeze. The Sun room and outdoor spaces make the property feel much larger than expected. Easy access to Lake Ann and the quick trek to TC were perfect. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We’ll certainly be back! 😊
Not only was the property clean, spacious for two people, and far exceeded our expectations, the location was perfect. Walking distance to pizza, Lake Ann Brewery, and the local grocery/market. Highly recommend!
What a lovely spot! This cozy cabin is a perfect location for visiting all the Traverse area spots...Everything was within 20 minutes to a half hour away. A perfect base camp for a great week. Lake Brian, on which the cabin sits, is peaceful and just lovely. We sat out every morning and evening just enjoying the serenity of the lake. We loved having the use of the rowboat and went fishing several times. (If you fish be sure to bring a filet knife, that was the one thing we missed and the one we bought at the store was dull). To our delight, we made friends with a turtle who visited us daily for worm treats (I know it's silly, but it made our vacation...his name is Ernesto btw ;) ) Lake Ann is a small town with everything you need. The grocery is amazing, the Brewery and The Stone Oven were awesome for food, beer, and music and we went several times during the week. The cabin itself is just adorable and very cozy. The pictures are accurate. The place is nicely appointed and perfect for a couple. If you cook at home a lot as we do, I suggest bringing some of your favorite spices, some olive oil and butter, and other things you use regularly. This place is a gem. I would have loved to have met the host but they sure know how to make a guest comfortable. Thanks for the perfect retreat before the start of a busy school year. I do hope that we can come back someday. I highly recommend!.

Why they chose this property
This property has been in my family for generations. My grandparents operated a small resort with efficiency cottages in the 1950's and 1960's. This is the last remaining cottage of their resort.
What makes this property unique
Our little lake is quiet and peaceful yet only 15 minutes to Traverse City and 20 minutes to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes
