Great Place to Stay

My family had a great visit staying here over the 4th of July weekend. The house was well-decorated, clean, and well-equipped with everything you could need for a vacation. Arnold's Park was only about a 10 min walk away. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and couldn’t recommend this home more. It truly deserves every bit of the 5 stars we gave it. The host has clearly put so much thought into every detail—everything we needed (and then some) was already there, which made the entire experience feel effortless and relaxing. The home was clean, comfortable, and perfectly set up for a family getaway. It struck that ideal balance of feeling both well-designed and welcoming. You can tell the host genuinely cares about their guests having a great experience. We’re already talking about coming back and would love to make this our annual Okoboji spot. Thank you for such a memorable stay!

Wonderful and cozy, walkable to all things Okoboji

We had a great time, the sun room/porch where the twin beds are located tends to get a little warm, but our kiddos had a great slumber party in there nonetheless. We were able to walk pretty easily to everything, including a great coffee bar/wine bar (dependant upon the time of day) just around the corner.

About the host

Hosted by Jo Hunter

Host profile image
I am from west-central Iowa but am located in the Okoboji area as a business owner so I am local during the busy season. I want to create a place where families, multi-family units, and friend groups can enjoy a fully equipped house to be close to activities and attractions, but still have a place that can be quiet and calm. This house is tucked away from the beaten path but has close easy access to attractions and restaurants. Come and enjoy this home and location. I am most likely minutes away to assist with any issues with the house. My husband and I enjoy sailing on the lakes and dancing together.

Why they chose this property

House is close to the heart of Okoboji. Location is everything to me. House is on a street that is on a cul-de-sac. The street is near the edge of the Emerald Hills Golf Course. Back property line and backyard is on the backside of the Antique store. The location is within walking distance to Arnold's Park, shops, and restaurants, or a short drive to other entertainment. This house is not to be used as a party house as many residents live and go to work in the mornings. Please be considerate during the city’s quiet hours from 11pm to 7 am.

What makes this property unique

4 Separate sleeping areas. All beds and bedding are newly purchased. Large open concept living room is adjacent to the dining room and has a fully equipped kitchen. Newly remodeled master suite bathroom.
1-Nektar coffee and juice bar around the corner/short walk
2-Arnold's Amusement Park .7 walking distance
3-Public Beach and Beach Volleyball at Arnold's Park
4-Shopping with the Emporium less than a mile away
5-Restaurants and Bars with Live Music 1-3 miles away
6-Yesterdays, Smokin' Jakes, Captains, Nautical, Portside, the Gardens, and Central Emporium 1.2 miles away
7-Scooters, Gilberto's Mexican Restaurant .4 miles away and Los Pueblos Mexican & American Grill .3 miles away
