My group had an okay stay at Peter’s place in Bakersfield. The good: the house is huge with 4 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms plus huge living room and an extra sitting area with a cool pink couch where you walk in. Beside that, everything was spartan basic accommodation. The bad: check in code didn’t work and got locked out after 3 attempts. The host was unreachable for a couple hours and I had to get on VRBO support for 45 min to get ahold of him to reset the code. Thankfully I was able to run some errands and the group wasn’t waiting to get in. Additionally, the post lists a picture of the laundry as an “amenity” but after asking for the code to access, the host said he didn’t mean to post the picture, that it was broken, and he was storing stuff in the room so he wouldn’t let us in. Thankfully we survived without laundry but would have been nice and we were expecting it. Finally we were left 5 rolls of TP for 5 people for 5 days. Not enough. The sponge we were left was gross and we had to buy another one. I had to ask for the Wi-Fi code instead of it being listed. There were no house rules or check out posted which would have been easier than us asking. At one point the gardeners came to ask us for access to the garage and they had a different name and contact than VRBO and didn’t feel comfortable giving them access. Could have been a smoother stay and communication / clarity of posting. But overall a good value stay in Bakersfield.

Nice neighborhood and property, cleanliness and host below par

Nice neighborhood, quiet upscale cul de sac. Property was not clean. Candy wrappers and empty water bottles were under beds and couches. Beds had only bottom sheets on them. Top sheets were discovered after a search. Host provided 4 bath towels for a six person reservation and then up charged for additional guests. We were in the area for a family funeral and unexpectedly had another couple stay one of the nights, so eight the first night, then three the second.

Thank you for your review The towels item is a miss that I admit and I was there in less than 10 minutes with extra towels as I live less than 10 minutes away , and I was thanked a lot by you once you got it As for the rest of the comments they are written out of anger because I asked for the extra person charge, I asked for that upon discovery and I was ignored till 3 days after check out and had to involve admins House was left very unclean and unorganized and I waived all extra cleaning cost I am a super host on this platform and others.
