About this property
Eagles Wings: Luxe Yellowstone Retreat |Condé Nast
Top of the mountain, end of the road: a Condé Nast-featured retreat perched above Paradise Valley. Your 35-acre private kingdom is where the sauna clings to the cliff's edge, the cold plunge resets you, the hot tub steams beneath a sky thick with stars, and the glass-ceiling observatory pulls the cosmos into the room. Trails, caves, eagles, and 26 miles of backyard wilderness to Big Sky. Not a neighbor in view. Family-friendly basecamp: 40 minutes to Yellowstone, Sage Lodge and Chico in 12.
★ Eagles Wings at a Glance ★
The view comes first. From a commanding perch at the literal end of the road, the entire Paradise Valley spreads below — the best seat in the valley, and not a neighbor in it. An 8-person SaunaOne sauna and a RENU cold plunge wait down the mountainside; a Hot Spring Grandee spa steams under the stars at the house; a glass-ceiling observatory holds a Vespera 3 telescope; Restoration Hardware runs wall to wall, with a Condé Nast feature to show for it. Four real beds sleep eight. A 600-foot well pours the mountain spring water, Starlink keeps you connected when you want to be, and two fire pits hold the evenings. Around it all run 35 acres of trails, hidden caves, and the wildlife that owns them. That's the shape of it. The rest is below.
★ Your Private Kingdom: 35 Acres ★
Arrive where the road ends and Paradise Valley opens below: the view holds not a single neighbor — only the resident elk and the eagles the house is named for. Hike private trails through the ravine, find the two hidden caves, and climb to 6,000 feet knowing 26 miles of Story Ranch and National Forest stretch between you and Big Sky. Two chairs sit on the ravine's rim — hike out at golden hour and claim them. A Vortex Diamondback spotting scope and binoculars are provided, the guest iPad shows the latest trail-camera sightings — black bears, bobcats, wolves, foxes — and before you arrive we send an interactive map of the land, ravine to ridge.
★ Your Ultimate Yellowstone Basecamp ★
Forty minutes through Paradise Valley to Yellowstone's North Entrance at Gardiner — the only gate open to vehicles year-round, for winter wolves and steaming thermal basins. Seven minutes off the main valley road puts Sage Lodge fine dining 12 minutes away, with Chico Hot Springs and the Old Saloon just beyond. We can also arrange a private tour with a professional wildlife biologist — safari-style vehicle, high-end spotting scopes, gourmet picnic, pickup at the house.
★ The Architectural Interior ★
More windows than walls. Emigrant Peak fills the glass from every room, Hunter Douglas electric blinds tune the light, and European white oak runs underfoot. The double-sided Stella fireplace and its patinaed copper chimney warm the living room indoors and out; dinners happen at a grand table of decades-old European reclaimed wood, down the hall from large-format work by photographer Kevin Noble, behind hand-forged bronze door handles by Rocky Mountain Hardware. The foyer's petrified-wood tiles and rock garden are guarded by krummholz — ancient wind-shaped trees harvested from the land itself.
★ We Redlined the Luxury ★
Everything here is the expensive version. The furniture: Restoration Hardware, wall to wall, with Italian leather seating. The layers: hand-knit throws and real furs — sheepskins, rabbit, bison rugs, and wool blankets handwoven in Amsterdam. The air: Mad et Len French scent oils on lava stone — Terre in one bath, Spirituelle in the next — with Element Brooklyn essentials at the sinks. The stemware: crystal Riedel. Built for people who notice.
★ The Sleeping Quarters ★
The totally private master wing opens to the mountain — architectural sliding doors, a king Tempur-Pedic, crisp alpine air, and the whole of Paradise Valley beyond the glass. Two queen guest rooms face Emigrant Peak with premium memory-foam mattresses, Roku TVs, and handwoven wool rugs. The fourth sleeping space is the Observatory: an RH Maxwell queen sleeper on the no-springs Tiffany 24/7 platform, directly beneath the glass ceiling.
★ The Spa & Wellness Ritual ★
The 8-person SaunaOne sauna hangs on the mountainside — pre-heat it from the guest iPad, then watch alpenglow settle on Emigrant Peak through the panoramic window. The RENU cold plunge waits beside it: heat, plunge, repeat. Then finish up at the house, sinking into the seven-person Hot Spring Grandee as its Moto-Massage jets sweep your back and the first stars come out. Inside, spa bathrooms carry deep soaking tubs with caddies and artisanal bath salts, Kohler fixtures, heated seats, and integrated bidets. Two propane fire pits wait outside — one by the RH sectional on the 800 sq ft terrace, one out in the open land for s'mores.
★ The Concierge ★
Private dinners by Chef Bob, stocked-fridge arrivals, daily turnover service, private shuttles, in-house concerts, bespoke itineraries — our dedicated concierge arranges it all. For weddings, corporate retreats, or sleeping up to 14, ask about pairing the house with our Mountain Yurt.
★ The Dark Sky Observatory ★
By night the Observatory becomes a private celestial theater. The Vaonis Vespera 3 smart telescope finds galaxies and nebulae at a touch and streams them to the 48" LG OLED so the whole room watches together; by day, its solar filter turns it safely on the sun. Or set it out on the dedicated stargazing pad and watch from inside as the Milky Way streams in. A Nintendo Switch 2 covers the cloudy nights.
★ Culinary Excellence ★
A commercial-grade 6-burner Café range, a Thermador fridge with specialized ice, a KitchenAid mixer, and a dedicated wine cooler anchor the chef's kitchen, built around a huge island made for entertaining. The coffee station runs a Café espresso maker, Breville Luxe drip, or French press over locally roasted beans. Outside, a Weber Summit grill with rotisserie and smoker handles the alpine barbecue, and fresh herbs grow in the planters spring through fall — snip what you need.
★ The Montana Seasons ★
Summer is world-class fly fishing, whitewater rafting, lazy river floats, cornhole on the lawn, and the historic streets of Livingston and Bozeman. Winter is Bridger Bowl days, Big Sky day trips, dog sledding, and elk herds crossing the property at dusk. The private lane is professionally plowed, a whole-home humidification system keeps the air perfect through the dry months, and every arrival begins the same way: sparkling wine, locally roasted beans, plush robes and slippers.
★ The Desert Siblings ★
We keep two more sanctuaries in the Joshua Tree desert — the Quail Wash Retreat and the off-grid Mojave Yurt. Two landscapes, one standard. Find them on our host profile.
★ Guest Access ★
Guests will have exclusive and private access to the entire 2,500 sq ft home, the 800 sq ft terrace, and all 35 acres of surrounding private land. Check-in is seamless via a smart lock. ** 3rd party insurance is required
