We had a fabulous time at Nordic Haus! It was a winter wonderland of a property! The kids and adults were entertained the entire extended weekend, and the hot tub was the biggest hit for kids and adults! The haus was well-appointed; we had 10 in our group and never ran out of amenities. The space was great for two families with two living areas, two kitchens and two full baths. The instructions for the property were clear, and the in and out was an easy process. We will absolutely be back to Nordic Haus!

We spent four days without internet, TV and phone service. Proper repairs of the hughsnet dish cabling should, by code, be buried 24 inches below finished road grade and inserted in schedule 40 pvc conduit. (We watch the plow pull temporary cable off the dish.)

Thank you for your review. First of all, you only stayed with us for 3 nights, not 4. I communicated the situation to you the first evening when you arrived. And I explained, in detail, that we were doing everything possible to make things right. Yes, due to multiple circumstances beyond our control, the internet service to the house was interrupted a little before your arrival. We had an electrician come out and install a temporary cable. The electrician was supposed to come back and run the permanent cable through the trees (well above the road) to avoid this problem. But between the snowstorm, Christmas, and having to order special cable for the repair, it was not done before you left. As I told you the first day of your stay, I would refund you $100/day for the lack of internet and streaming TV. You seemed to think that was fair. So I think it's a bit unfair to complain publicly about something that you agreed was fair in private. That $300 was roughly 1/4 of your total rent for your 10 adult guests for 3 nights. You still had the hot tub, the sauna, the ski hill, the saloon, the deck, the grill, the fire pit, 2 kitchens, 2 fireplaces, and a very large, comfy house to stay in. Seems fair. You didn't mention any of that in your review. I even offered to put an additional $100 on a tab at the bar (to watch the Packers game). But you never responded. Also, we don't control cell phone coverage. That's an issue that you would need to take up with your carrier.

Overall my family enjoyed our stay! The Chalet had plenty of room to accommodate all of us and the hot tub was perfect at the end for the day. There were some internet issues that were beyond our, and the owners control, but the owners were super responsive and the issue was resolved. I would definitely recommend the Chalet for a get away if you’re looking for some quiet time with friends and/or family.

We love all the space at the Nordic Haus and have been coming back for many years. The hot tub is great and it's super close to the ski hill. The hosts are always helpful and attentive to any questions or requests we have. 10/10!

We're a close-knit family living in the Midwest that really treasures togetherness, making loving memories and healthy, wholesome fun.

Why they chose this property

We have a large family and extended family. This property allows multiple families to be close together and really share each other's company. Nobody has to jump in a car or go back to a sterile hotel room in the middle of the evening. Family and friends can hang out as late as they want and retire to their beds a few steps away.

What makes this property unique

The surroundings are serene, pure and breathtaking. Ski Brule has one of the earliest starts and latest ends to skiing in the Midwest. And, excellent fishing and hunting are nearby. The town of Iron River can provide golf, restaurants, groceries or antiquing just a few minutes away. This property also boasts a hot tub, sauna, scenic deck and fire pit. It's also great for large groups and multi-family outings. It also has two full kitchens and two bathrooms. Nordic Haus is also just a few 100 yards from one of the county snowmobile trails (#15). So it's ski-in/ski-out, and snowmobile-in/snowmobile-out.
