About this property

The Robin's Egg -Walk to the Village!

Located a Par five’s distance to the fairways of Pinehurst No.2, this 100-year old cottage has been remodeled to 1300 square feet of modern accommodation. The master bedroom alone is 540 sqft (30x18), and the house overall sleeps 5. The Robin's Egg Cottage is a portrait of masterful updating that offers modern-day space, but maintains the cottage feel. Your golfing entourage will enjoy grilling on a deck that overlooks a half-acre of lawn framed by mature trees and lush, privacy-ensuring growth.

The Robin's Egg is in the heart of Pinehurst Village and within walking distance to 15 different restaurants/pubs. Tucked away on a quiet side street, the cottage is fully furnished and includes all kitchen wares, linens, towels and other necessities. The décor is comfortable and relaxed. A fireplace adds ambiance and warmth to the living room and dining room. If it is too warm to be inside, relax in the country-charm of the front porch.

A short drive away is the town of Southern Pines with its charming shops and the historic Sunrise Theater. Both Pinehurst and Southern pines are home to esteemed equestrian communities with rigorous event seasons. Enjoy a day at the Pinehurst Harness track, or time your visit to include the Stoneybrook Steeplechase. Also, both Pinehurst and Southern Pines offer large fitness centers: The First Health Center in Pinehurst, and Gold’s Gym in Southern Pines. In addition, each town supports a labyrinth of fitness greenways that spider out from the beautiful public parks listed below ... all within walking distance from the cottage.

CAMELOT PLAYGROUND: At Cannon Park
Come play in the most whimsical playground in the area, complete with a make believe castle. Pure fun for the little ones.

CANNON PARK: Rattlesnake Trail off NC 211
This is a 15 acre facility with 2 baseball/softball fields, and a small practice soccer field with restroom facilities. In addition to ball fields, Cannon Park has a ¼ mile walking trail and a covered picnic shelter that can be rented for special events.

PINEHURST GREENWAY SYSTEM
Approximately six miles of trails that stretch through Linden Road, the Village of Pinehurst, Rassie Wicker Park, Cannon Park, and part of Village Acres.

RASSIE WICKER PARK: 395 Magnolia Road
This Park is basically in the back yard of the cottage! It is at the site of Village Hall, the Police Station and Fire Station. Amenities include an inline hockey rink, soccer field, playground, 2.3 miles of paved walking trails, brick sidewalks, an expanded trail system and a concession stand/restroom facility. The park is also the home of the Arboretum which hosts events ranging from outdoor concerts to charity events to weddings.

Moore County is home to over 25 golf courses. The Pinehurst courses have played host to the US Open, the Ryder Cup Championship, the U.S. Amateur, and the PGA Championship. Most recently, in 2014, Moore County hosted the U.S Open--both of them. Within the same month, Pinehurst No.2 and Pine Needles Resort enjoyed the men’s and women’s U.S. Opens successively. Almost all of the area courses are listed among the top 100 courses in North Carolina. Four of the courses are listed among the top ten golf experiences in North Carolina. Pinehurst No.2 and Pine Needles are regarded as among the best courses the United States has to offer. Numerous classes and golf training camps are available at these area resorts.

WHAT A FANTASTIC COTTAGE TO VACATION IN
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at THE ROBIN'S EGG. The pictures just don't do it justice as it is bright and such a pretty welcoming cottage. The original cottage has been added onto with the most delightful big bedroom at the back of the home. The owners were extremely responsive to our needs and are close by to answer any questions you may have. The location of THE ROBIN'S EGG is also just perfect. It is close to everything Pinehurst offers in a vacation. The village is a short distance away as well as those multiple first-class golf courses Pinehurst is famous for. Taking a walk from the cottage is an experience not to be missed as the perfectly constructed brick sidewalks are a delightful part of your Pinehurst vacation. We are hoping to stay at THE ROBIN'S EGG again in the future when we visit Pinehurst.

About the host

Since 1996 I have cultivated a career in Human Resources Management in the corporate world. However, my affinity for property led me to a secondary career when, in 2004, I began acquiring rental property. I enjoy working with both my short-term and long-term renters and am delighted that you are considering The Robin's Egg Cottage for your vacation.

For fun I love to go for a run through Rassie Wicker Park (located just behind In-Play Cottage), take short trips to the beach or mountains, dine-out, go to the movies or a live play, garden, and play with my two cats, Oreo and Bali.

Why they chose this property

My family has been vacationing in Pinehurst since the late 90's. Every season brings a new reason to fall in love with the area over and over again. The spring Azaleas, dogwoods, and bradford pears are breath takingly beautiful. Summer brings lots of gatherings, festivals, and live bands in the Village. Fall is simply a second spring and drives me to be outdoors. The winters are mild and, again, full of beautiful Camelia blooms ... I love it. So, when deciding to make Pinehurst home, I decided there was no better place to give into my desire to own and manage property.

What makes this property unique

The feature renters like best at The Robin's Egg Cottage is the grand master bedroom. It is a monster! So big, in fact, that there is a full living room right inside the bedroom. You'll love the spacious master bath, the roomy closet, and the convenience of the laundry room ... not to mention the large backyard and side deck.

Stepping outside of the cottage, you'll love that you can walk 2 blocks to Maxie's bar and restaurant. You can even walk to the heart of the VIllage in less than 10 minutes, or drive there in 2 minutes.
