Nestled in the charming downtown of the river-town of Madison, Indiana. This fully renovated historic building brings the modern amenities to character of old. Walk to all the best shops Madison has to offer, ride golf carts along the river, or hike through Clifty Falls state park. This boutique hotel will make your stay easy.
The open-plan design includes a comfortable sleeping area with a king bed, a full kitchen for preparing your meals, and a shower that offers a revitalizing start or end to your day.
Disclaimers: - CONSTRUCTION on the third floor units takes place during the weekday working hours. This should only last until the end of September 2023. - East Main Lofts is located downtown on the Main Street so road noise from the street can be heard.
What to expect: - Two rolls of toilet paper - 2 sets of hand towels and bath towels - 1 pod of dishwasher detergent for the kitchen - 1 roll of paper towels.
What shops and restaurants do we recommend: - Madison Kitchen and Bakery is right down stairs for baked goods and breakfast on the weekends. - The Attic is another Madison staple for lunch. I order a grilled chicken wrap with chips and their raspberry salsa is amazing. - Fountain Alley Soaps features locally made soaps and other skin care products. I trust Sanya, the owner and operator to source her ingredients ethically and holistically. I especially love the honeycomb grapefruit and peace and calm scents. - Uncommon Pizza has very yummy pizza. They have a lengthly and particular process to making their dough, and they bake their pizza in big wood-fired ovens. We all love the sweet Piggie pizza and fight over the leftovers. The sea salt bread sticks are delicious too. - The Thomas Family winery is one of the most charming spots in town. It has an old-world pub aesthetic, and also has the best outdoor seating in town. They bake yummy crusty breads; feature common and unique cheeses and salamis; and make their own wine on-site. They offer colorful tasting experiences, and if you get to meet Steve and Elizabeth, the long-time owners and operators, they will make you feel like family.

Nice place, very clean. It is an older building, so the AC didn’t keep up when it got really hot, but it wasn’t too bad. Definitely some road noise. Great location.
Was absolutely fantastic. Lovely place. And loved being in the heart of downtown Madison. Only complaint was the noise. But we were warned of the thin walls ahead of time. So not the owners fault. Would definitely stay again.
This studio apt was perfect for our long weekend getaway. Within walking distance of downtown shopping, eateries and music. Spacious, clean and a great vibe with all of the amenities needed. Our host was attentive. Looking forward to our next stay.
We loved our stay. Beautiful loft with everything you need. Walking distance to everything. A little noisy from the road traffic but it really didnt bother us at all. 100 percent would stay again.
We had a perfect anniversary weekend getaway. Right on main street close to all the unique shops and great eateries. The East Main Lofts are beautifully decorated with modern amenities in a unique historical building. The Madison Kitchen, located downstairs, has wonderful smells that drift upstairs and makes breakfest easy for guest. The Police stayion across the street makes you feel safe, not one siren in four days, hum. Close to the Ohio River and Clifty Falls State Park. Already planning to stay here for a fun girls getaway at Christmas and the house tour. Great place to stay. Manager, Colin, was helpful and easy no-contact check in.
Lovely old building with crazy high ceilings close to the downtown scene. Very spacious, efficiency-style setting with plenty of room for two. Nicely updated and furnished but still loaded with historic charm. There is a long flight of steep stairs to reach the unit, so something to consider if stairs are a challenge for your party. And being close to the action does come with some traffic noise, including motor bikes, but my wife thought it all added to the ambience. :-) Madison itself was wonderful-- good food, lots of boutique clothing shops, and an abundance of antique stores. Highly recommend hiking in nearby Clifty Falls.
The room was decorated well. I stayed in a room that overlooked the courthouse. The large windows and tall ceilings gave made me feel like there was a lot of space. The only complaint I have is that at night it is too bright because the street lights shine in the window and the curtains are white and don’t block the light. The location is great. We were able to park our car right in front and walk everywhere downtown. There is a bakery right next door so it was easy to get up and grab a coffee. There is a full kitchen with all the appliances, but we were busy visiting so many people I didn’t take the time to cook. Overall, it was really a cool place to stay. I would go back and try one of the other themed rooms. Maybe I would try one not facing the street.
