Recently renovated, Thimbleberry Castle House provides a unique space for family and group gatherings. Situated within an easy walk to great trails , this secluded location offers walks along the Lake Michigan beach and on wooded paths. The lakefront is definitely beautiful and no doubt better for viewing than swimming on the rocky beach. There are two sandy beaches within two miles of our property - in Baileys Harbor and in Jacksonport -and there are others spread throughout the county. Pets ok.

My family enjoyed the roomy house. We used the large outside table for our lunch.It was amazing being so close the Lake Michigan. It was so calming listening to the waves. The kitchen was well equipped with all the supplies needed.I would recommend this castle to anyone who wants to visit Door County.Thank you, Mike!

We loved this house! Beautiful home and lots of space for our family. Very quiet location. We enjoyed the fire pit, listening to the Lake Michigan waves, hanging out in the huge kitchen and great room, and the kids loved the sauna and secret room! Lots of towels, very comfortable beds, and plenty of cookware, dinnerware, and flatware. We would definitely stay again!

The house is beautiful and the backyard is Lake Michigan! It was perfect for our family reunion. Suggestions but not to diminish the beauty of the home:The lockbox can be difficult There are two bedrooms with two children beds in each room. Maybe have one of the rooms with a regular size bed. More towels in bathrooms, realizing that often many people share a bathroom. I wish I could have stayed longer. There is lots to do in the area for all ages. I highly recommend.

The property location is within miles of Baileys Harbor and is very private. It is shallow for a long ways off shore for swimmers (rocky bottom). The house has great spaces for people to spread out and not feel on top of each other. Having two fridges is super helpful. An additional dishwasher would have been great to accommodate larger dish volume. The amount of dishes, pots and pans and storage provided is wonderful. Finishes and appliances are high-end. Overall a great stay.It would have been easier to assign rooms with the following information:Main floor has two king-sized bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.Upstairs has:-two twin-sized beds (low to the ground so better for kids)-king/twin bedroom-king-sized bedroom-3-bed room has its own en-suite bathroom-Hidden game roomA wood pile for a fire would’ve also been a nice to have vs having to go buy it. Would stay here again — it is a beautiful place!

The Castle House was fantastic for our 16 person group! There was plenty of space for everyone to gather both inside and outside. The proximity to the lake was amazing! It was beautiful, clean, and we had a great stay.My biggest suggestion is to improve the listing with a floor plan and labeled bedroom photos. It wasn't until we arrived that we realized the gallery showed multiple photos of the same bedroom from different angles instead of clearly identifying each room. At this price point (around 2,000/night), guests should be able to understand the layout before they book.The room differences are significant. Two king bedrooms have incredible private en-suite bathrooms with steam showers, clawfoot tubs, walk-in closets, and multiple sinks. The third king bedroom is much smaller and shares one small upstairs bathroom with four other bedrooms. Since three families all paid for king bedrooms, knowing that ahead of time would have made it much easier to assign rooms and split costs before the trip instead of figuring it out after everyone arrived.One pleasant surprise: the house also has a beautiful sauna that wasn't listed as an amenity or shown in any photos. We loved it, and it's absolutely worth advertising.

Spacious Lakeside Home

This property provided our twelve member family generous space indoors and out for conversation and relaxation. The kitchen and dining areas allowed us to prepare and enjoy our meals together. Its proximity to the attractions of Door County yet offered a quiet setting away from the hustle and bustle of those tourist areas.

It's Called The Castle For a Reason

Can't say enough about this place. We enjoyed staying here. We did spend a lot of time at the touristy towns on the Bay side but enjoyed being on the lake side for seclusion and traffic reasons. Bay side is only 15 mins away.

Beautiful Stay for Family Reunion

This property was an absolute treasure for our family reunion trip. There was something for everyone from baby to senior with accessibility needs. The amenities were second to none and we appreciated the nice touches like coffee filters, a fresh sponge, nice soaps, etc. So much space for all us to enjoy and retreat to if we needed a break from the crowd. Perfect home for a large group

With ample bedrooms, bathrooms, eating and gathering areas, this home was perfect for our family of 16. The outdoor space was nice also, with a lovely view of the lake. It is close to beaches and the neighboring towns. We took advantage of kayaking and pontoon rentals in the area. We could also fish and swim from the rocky beach behind the house. I highly recommend it, and we would rent it again if we were in the area.
