Vista Gloriosa - panoramic mountain views in Eldorado.
We have a 10-night minimum at the Christmas/New Year holiday.
Our home is an open bright Santa Fe-style home with a full kitchen and all cooking supplies. There are 3 bedrooms, two baths, and an office with high speed internet.
The king Master bedroom is separate, at the other end of the house and contains a walk-in closet and tiled shower for two persons.
There is a queen guest room and and a third bedroom with two twin beds. There is a separate office with fast internet, library, and local books and information.
Our home overlooks 26,000 acres of state grazing land along the fence line. Western bluebirds, quail, coyote, bobcat, and pronghorn antelope have been spotted just from the backyard. It is an easy, beautiful 20-25 minute drive to Santa Fe, away from the bustle. Enjoy seasonal Skiing, hiking, walking, biking, art, music, and culture set in the beautiful high desert landscape and light that is northern New Mexico.
Our front and backyard porch and portal dining areas for sitting and dining have stunning views of the Sangre de Christo, Jemez, and Ortiz mountains, Tetilla Peak, and large swaths of the Galisteo Basin. Some days we can see the sacred mountain of the San Francisco Peaks along the horizon almost 120 mi. away.
Our home is located in Eldorado at Santa Fe, a planned community of 10,000 acres with a community center and stables. There are greenbelt areas for walking, running, and biking, with nearby hiking trails. At the entrance to Eldorado 6 miles from our home is shopping, cafe, grocery, and brewery, with good nearby restaurants.
There are few longer-term private rental homes, moderately priced, that match the spectacular views, settings, and ease.
We have been renting our home to friends, and guests privately or through VRBO since 2006. The guest reviews speak for themselves, and many guests and friends return yearly and for longer stays.
Amenities include radiant heat, evaporative cooling (swamp cooler), fully equipped kitchen, all linens, fast WIFI, Xfinity cable TV in living room, Roku with streaming, wood burning fireplace, double garage, plenty of parking. We are dog friendly, but don't have an enclosed back yard, but do have an enclosed front courtyard.
Destino Santa Fe is a cooperative, private group of homeowners and we are proud to represent Vista Gloriosa.

Very conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood near our family. Peaceful setting and beautiful views. Nice intimate conversation spaces. Enjoyed our stay.
The property is adjacent to state land and is very quiet with great views, about 25 minutes to Santa Fe.
The property was very clean, the only slight negative is the carpet in the master bathroom.
We had such a delightful stay! From the sunsets to the coyotes and bird life, to the quiet peaceful setting, it was all we could hope for and more. Bob is a wonderful host, communicative, thoughtful and approachable. His home is warm and welcoming, truly a home away from home, with all the amenities one could hope for. We’d definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. Robert was an excellent host. He was easy to communicate with and there were no surprises. The views were superb and we saw coyotes from the living room window! The house is very comfortable and was ideal for us.
We loved the property, furnishings, and management. We are all in our late 70's and had difficulty with the step down into the living room. It could be visually marked as two of us stubbled not seeing the step and fell, fortunately not being hurt. Once aware of the step we all managed it fine for the rest of the stay. We would stay there again.

We will definitely take your advice and mark the step-down so it is more visible. Glad you enjoyed Vista Gloriosa!
This was a nice house consistent with the photos. Everything was very clean. Kitchen appliances were high end and kitchen was well stocked, including some pantry items (spices, etc). Having the cable TV and high speed Internet were great. I really appreciated the office style setups in some rooms. Managers were responsive to questions about the recycling schedule. Backing up to the preserve, the property was incredibly quiet with beautiful views. I do want to mention for anyone that might be mobility impaired, the living room and the master bedroom/bath are a step down from the floor level in the rest of the house.
What a lovely and peaceful home! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and especially appreciated its close proximity to bike and hiking trails The location offered expansive views of the surrounding mountains and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Bob is a wonderful host who made us feel very much at home.
Beautiful and Comfortable Southwest Home in Magnificent Setting
We were impressed with the wonderful Southwest feel of this spacious home, as well as the many amenities, which made it such a comfortable stay. The big surprise for us was that it not only offered us access to Santa Fe activities and surrounding adventures, it was a destination in itself, offering us magnificent views of the New Mexican landscape and skies. The house backs up onto open BLM land, with birds and the occasional cattle wandering by (fenced in). On the east side of the house is a view each morning of the sunrise, and on the west, the sunset. Perfect ways to start and end our Santa Fe days! Both the owner (Bob) and the caretaker (Mike) were accessible, helpful and informative about the area.
The location, floor plan of the home, the outside patio and all amenities of the home/property were excellent. The owner was very helpful, as well as the one taking care of the property. I would stay at this home again, without hesitation. Great experience.
We were looking for the perfect combo of quiet/out of town with amazing food and stuff to do — this place let us have exactly that. Such a lovely home with such a beautiful view. Mike, the property manager, and Bob, the owner were both lovely and so prompt in helping with anything we needed. Would absolutely rent here again.
A beautiful, spacious home with views that are truly stunning. Highlights of our stay included incredible sunsets with vast views to the mountains, hearing the coyotes howl, and seeing coyotes pass through the yard. An easy 20-25 minute drive into Santa Fe and hiking--with some trails being 10 minutes away. The kitchen has everything you need to make wonderful meals. Bob was a great host and available for all of our needs. Highly recommended!
There are 42 perfect five star reviews of this house. I agree with them all. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable. The mountain views, especially the sunsets, are fabulous. The star watching is great. The yard was beautiful in December with a light dusting of snow. The kitchen is extremely well stocked. There is a cozy study/library perfect for telecommuting and complete with guidebooks. There is a two car garage. The house is quiet. The biggest problem is that we hated to leave it. We certainly hope to come back.
The perfect spot to relax, meditate, walk, and cook. A nice break from the city and its constant noise. All these a just 20' from the Santa Fe Plaza.
Bob is a wonderful host. Thank you!
We really enjoyed staying in this home! It was quiet and peaceful. The star gazing was amazing! We loved seeing and hearing the native wildlife. This house had an excellent layout for us and was very comfortable! We really enjoyed our stay!
What a stunning location! The landscape is magical and the sunsets are so beautiful. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, and restful place for your Santa Fe vacation, this is a great house to stay in! The house is very well appointed. The owner is kind, responsive, and helpful and goes to extra lengths to make sure that you have a great visit.
Our host Bob, provided us with a suggested itinerary, which was very detailed and helpful. It included restaurants, hiking trails, museums, all kind of fun day trips, etc. It became my "bible" while we were there. The house was very clean and comfortable. It suited us perfectly and the views are amazing. I hope to return soon.
We had a wonderful, peaceful family getaway in mid-November. Eldorado is a quiet neighborhood and the property looks out onto a gorgeous landscape. The house was perfect for us, with the heated floors being a fantastic bonus in the cold weather. The kitchen is great, we cooked every day, the living room comfortable, the outside space inviting [but it was too cold to linger long]...Really nothing to complain about at all. Perfect place.
We stayed here last year and were happy to be back. Eldorado is close enough to downtown Santa Fe but away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The house is comfortable, so quiet and an added bonus is the spacious garage. The views of the mountains from the house are gorgeous. Great sunrises and sunsets.

Sante Fe stay at Eldorado/Santa Fe home.
The home had everything we needed to have a good time. The views were wonderful.
It is about 6 miles outside of the city of Santa Fe in a suburb of Eldorado which makes it better than being within the city. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the area. It is within easy reach of several hiking trails and National Monuments, ruins, etc
