About this property
Foothills Retreat- Patios| Rooftop Deck|Quiet|2BR
Summary:
Beautiful and private, adobe style home; The feel of country living less than ten minutes from the city center. Roof top deck over looking the City Different, complete with indoor and outdoor kiva fire places; Truly a haven away from home.
The Space:
Make yourself at home in this quiet, Northern New Mexican paradise. This two bedroom, two bathroom home sits at the base of the foothills of the rolling Sangre De Cristo mountain range. Nestled in a forrest of cedar and juniper, this precious home is equipped with a washer dryer, as well as a full kitchen, beautifully tiled in classic, high desert style. The brick floors throughout the building are reminiscent of days of old, providing a palpable connection to the rich history of the City Different. The living room and kitchen offer space for relaxing meals and restorative quiet time. The large windows and skylight provide ample natural light throughout this private, adobe style home. In the rare case of rain, the flat screen TV in the living area is ready to go for a film, or perhaps you prefer to cuddle up on the couch in front of the authentic, kiva style fire place.
The property is shared with the main house, which is not visible from your casita, and your privacy is ensured with an automatic gate that operates with a clicker, which will be provided upon your arrival. The well known and well loved Harry’s Roadhouse Restaurant is a short seven minute drive via Old Las Vegas Trail, and they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week. Despite the country feel of the casita, you are less ten minutes from the center of town. It is truly the best of both worlds.
The master and guest bed rooms are connected via a large and beautifully modeled bathroom, complete with his and her sinks. Cuddle up with a book in the banco style window seating in either room, or enjoy the early morning quiet on the patio that opens up out of the master bedroom. Both bedrooms are equipped with generous closet space. The master bed room offers a king size bed with a TV, and the second room is conveniently situated with two twins.
Because Santa Fe boasts over three hundred sunny days per year, you will likely want to enjoy evenings in front of the outdoor fire place on the main patio that connects to the house via the living room. Complete with a barbecue grill, it is the perfect place to make and take your meals when the weather abides! (Which it nearly always does). To get up close and personal with the foothills, or for front row seats to our famous Santa Fe sunsets, the roof top deck is the place to be. Follow the classic styled clay sconces up the stairs for a breathtaking panoramic view of our city from above the tree line. A perfect place for cocktails or contemplation!
This sweet and private home really does have it all. We hope you enjoy your stay!
Guest Access:
Full access to the house. Private access gate shared with one other house, two outdoor sitting areas (one with its own fireplace) plus a roof top deck! The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and there is laundry in the house. There is a gate on the entrance to the property, access instructions will be given after your reservation is confirmed.
The Neighborhood:
Canyon Road is a short drive away (about 2.5 miles, or 8 min). There are many galleries and restaurants there including, The Teahouse, El Farol, Geronimo (reservations recommended), and The Compound.
The Santa Fe Plaza is also near by. At about a 3.5 miles away, you may want to drive(11 min) or walk (1 hr). Around the Plaza you will find the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis de Asissi, Palace of the Governors, and the Loretto Chapel, as well as many restaurants; The Shed (reservations recommended), The Palace Restaurant, and the Bull Ring are all right there, just to name a few.
Santa Fe is a hiker’s paradise. The nearest trails to your house can be found right off of Old Santa Fe Trail. There are others a mere five minutes driving from your residence, (Atalaya trail is very popular and can be picked up right at St John’s College), and longer hiking can be found off of the road to the Ski Basin.
Museum hill is just down the street (1.7 mi) off of Old Santa Fe Trail and is home to the Botanical Gardens, the Museum of Indian Arts, the International Folk Art Museum, the Wheelwright Museum, and the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art. For children, the Santa Fe Children’s Museum is just down the road on Old Pecos Trail.
Getting Around:
Bringing your own or renting a car is recommended
Other Things to Note:
Help keep vacation rentals legal in Santa Fe by making sure the home you choose is permitted with the city! The couch does not fold out to a bed but could accommodate one person. Rental agreement is between the booking guest and the property owner.
The landscaper comes every other Monday to clean up around the patios, driveway, and yard areas.
Baby equipment is available on a first come first serve basis for an additional fee. We can provide more details if you are interested.
