Art was an amazing host who communicated with us at every step of the process, going above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying the house and the area. The house is beautiful and peaceful and had everything we needed for a great stay.
What a great spot! The owners are great and this place was so perfect. My husband and I relaxed and my two teenage boys fished their hearts out. Quiet and beautiful area.
Wonderful relaxing stay. had our coffee out on the deck every morning listening to the birds and rooster, who we became quite attached to, while enjoying the wonderful private view of the water and marina across the cove. Owners were very responsive. We enjoyed the canoe, kayaks and paddle board but didn't have a chance to use the bicycles provided. Had a superb dinner in Vergennes, a short drive away. There was also a delicious cookie/creemee shop very close by that we may have visited more than once. Would stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!
My sister and I spent the most relaxing days we’ve had in a long time at this house on the lake. It was perfect and had everything we needed. Complete kitchen, comfy beds, lake breezes. Our home away from home was the deck overlooking the lake. We had a rainy day and it was very cozy.Though we are from Vermont, we had not spent much time in this area. We discovered the nearby town of Vergennes, for food, ice cream and little shops!
Great location.. marina across the bay with a really nice launch for a boat. Communication with the host was perfect , place was perfect for me and a friend for a fishing trip. Kinda of a nice camp experience. The cat was a nice touch..we named her " Sheba"...she walked right in like she owned the place. Great bargain for a get away...dock was a plus for a Nitro fishing boat! Thank you to the host!
Just perfectly serene. Excellent for a quiet, relaxing weekend while close to hiking and local attractions. Great communication! Can’t wait to return. :)
Easy to get to - for a lakefront property (they’re often tucked away down dirt or gravel roads, this one is relatively close to the main paved road but far enough to be silent at night). Beds were comfortable enough, plenty of dishes and cookware. Heaters worked well on a chilly night and once it warmed up the windows are operable and let in a nice breeze. Very happy with the owners offer to pick up some staples for breakfast since we came in near midnight. Would recommend to friends and would stay again! Plenty of exploring to be done in the shallow entry sand (surprisingly clear; lower than likely usual due to drought this summer). My teen daughter loved the variety of birds and documented their sandy prints.
Place was nice! There was a dog owner who stayed bf us and remnants of dog hair were a bummer but other than that the place was clean and as expected. The communication was very good with owners. The location was fantastic. We swam, ran, played tennis, canoed, paddled. We did it all. It was great not to bring Rowes and have so many condiments. We even saw a bald eagle! Definitely recommend it.
Overall, the owners respond quickly and are very nice. The home was clean and comfortable, and right in line with the description. The neighborhood was private and quiet (aside from the local rooster). It was right on the lake, in a nice cove. Owners provided kayaks, paddleboat, and canoe, as stated in listing. The only issue we had - access down to the water needs a lot of work. The exterior of the house was not maintained to the standard of the inside of the house and the route down to the lake was not very stable. It was very difficult to maneuver on the boards to get the boats in the water. Not impossible, but challenging for some, especially younger children. Yard areas could use some tending as well, near the grilling area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

We are sorry you found the access to the water difficult. We have reorganized the “steps” going down and it is much easier now for a small child. We also installed a ladder from the dock. We are sorry you didn’t reach out to us as we would have come over right away to do this. All the personal watercraft that we offer to our guests to use are down on the beach. No maneuvering over boards required. If they are not, because the water levels are too high, then they can be carried down to the dock, which is what the dock is for. We try to make this as easy as possible, but we can’t always anticipate our guests needs. (Some don’t use the boats at all, or bring their own.)
And we are sorry you didn’t like our mini-wildlife meadow that we cultivate instead of a lawn on one side of the house. (We do have a lawn in front, and flower beds with annuals that we care for.) We do this to attract butterflies, birds, and other pollinators, and because we find the flowers pretty – violets in spring, then bell flowers, daisies, clover and queen anne’s lace among others. It is also better for the lake. We are trying to follow the recommendations of Lake Wise Vermont – less mowing, more native plants. Of course there is always room for improvement. We are nearby, and we always respond to feedback from guests.
