A piece of beach heaven

A wonderful vacation spot for families. A truly beach front home with everything you need. Elena was there to answer any questions as were Jens and Raukia. We would come again in a heartbeat. It was perfect for our family and friends.

Beautiful home in an outstanding location

This home on Evia Island near Karystos is well worth the cost. A beautiful private beach and exceptional home interior. We found Evia and Karystos to be less hectic than other islands and less packed with tourists. The owner and caretaker were very helpful and managed some difficult weather related problems well, even offering a wonderful complimentary dinner at a local hotel.

Awesome Location and Excellent Experience

This is an amazing property. We enjoyed 5 days on Karystos in Peter's house and can't recommend it enough. The house is beautiful with A/C in the bedrooms--but we didn't need it because of the breeze and screens on the doors. The beach is right there on the property, pretty much private as we only saw one other person the entire week. There are few non-Greek tourists in Karystos, which we really enjoyed. We hiked, biked, and enjoyed dinners in town, a short 5 minute drive. The town shuts down the main street near the port in the evenings, which is fun to walk. Christos is the caretaker--another awesome person in the Karystos experience. He provided recommendations for where to buy fish, meat, vegetables, and groceries. He was a great resource during out stay. Finally, Peter is amazing. He responded almost immediately to communication and emails. We had an issue with our rental car and emailed Peter. He called my wife's mobile number and had several great suggestions. Peter rounds out a perfect week on Karystos with superb communication before and during the trip. We highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity.

Très bon accueil et suivi par la propriétaire, maison spacieuse, confortable, propre et très bien équipée. Tranquillité, espace, vue à 180 sur la mer... avec le gros "plus" : la grande plage presque privée au bout du jardin, avec transats et ombre. Superbe !

Idyll für Katzenliebhaber

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem sehr liebevoll eingerichteten Haus war Anfang Mai. Wir wurden von den Besitzern sehr herzlich empfangen, sodass wir uns sofort sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Das Haus befindet sich in einem großen, von Olivenbäumen umgebenen Grundstück. Der vor dem Haus liegende Sandstrand ist vom Grundstück aus über eine kleine Treppe zugänglich. Man kommt gut, auch ohne Schuhe ins kristallklare Wasser, man muss aber über flache Steinplatten laufen, die etwas glatt sind können. Aber bei bei etwas Vorsicht unproblematisch. Im Mai hatten wir den Strand für uns alleine.Das Haus selbst, ist nach Süden ausgerichtet, freundlich, hell und sehr einladend. Alle Zimmer mit Meerblick. Die Terrasse ist großzügig. Als Selbstversorger haben wir in der Küche alles gefunden, was wir brauchten.Wir haben uns rundherum wohl gefühlt und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.Was man wissen sollte:Drei sehr verschmuste Katzen sind Eure ständigen Begleiter und wollen versorgt werden.Ruhe pur, Karystos ist ca. 4 km entfernt, ein Auto unbedingt erforderlich.

An Amazing Villa Right By The Sea

First of all I am writing this review, because we really had our best vacation ever! We had the chance to meet Peter and Raukia(the owners) in person, they are so kind and welcoming, just talking to them was a great pleasure. The information we read online about the Villa was 100% accurate. The house is very well located, it is near Karystos (a bigger city in the region), different beaches are easily accessible from here (just a few minutes of driving), however the beach by the villa is so great, we spent most of our time there. It has pebbles and sand on the beach, and big flat rocks in the water, but those does not hurt your feet (swimming shoes are recommended though, so you won't slip on the rocks, but as I remember they have some pairs in the villa too). The garden around the house is enormous, the kids couldn't stop running around, and playing on this big space. The villa is very well equipped! You can find almost anything you can think of, such as: a lot of cutlery, plates, cooking pots, coffe machine, toaster, swimming gear, it has a big fridge, etc. etc. We needed a baby chair, and Peter got us one, it was such a nice gesture. The owners are so pliant, you can work things out very quickly, if you have any problems. The Villa itself is very spacious, and clean, well maintained, if something breaks the mechanics are there under 30minutes, but I think even more quickly, We are completely satisfied with that. The owners prepared us for everything, they even recommended a spring nearby, where we could get water any time, and it is cleaner than the water through the pipes (if you know the Greek water quaility you quickly realise this is a big benefit). The owners recommended us beaches, restaurants, places to go on a trip, attractions nearby. They really prepared us for the upcoming days. I would absolutely recommend this Villa for anyone. It is calm, welcoming, spacious, comfortable, the view is just amazing, you can see the sea from almost every point of the house. We will go back definately, it was such a great experience, five stars just don't feel enough to evaluate this great place. Thank you very much Peter and Raukia Best Regards, Team Horkai

Griechenland pur !!!

In diesem Haus und seiner Umgebung ist einfach alles perfekt für einen wundervollen und erholsamen Urlaub, den wir bereits zum zweiten Mal hier genießen durften. Für unsere 3-Generationen-Familie gibt es für jeden das Passende: Schnorcheln, Scuba Diving, Boot-Trips, kleinere und größere Ausflüge, Flanieren im Ort und am Hafen, griechisches Essen, romantische Sonnenuntergänge und natürlich das glasklare Meer direkt vor der Tür. Wir hatten auch im Juli den Strand für uns alleine! Ein großes DANKE an Peter und Christos für ihre Gastfreundschaft!

Ein absoluter Traum

Wir (2 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder 10 und 8) waren im Juli 2018 in der Villa Svolis. Es ist ein magischer Ort, ein wunderschönes Haus mit wenigen Metern zum Strand den man fast immer für sich alleine hat, mit sauberem klaren Wasser und persönlichen Sonnenliegen :) Die Realität lässt die Bilder noch hinter sich. Wir hatten außerdem das Glück Peter und seine Frau persönlich kennenzulernen, da sie zu diesem Zeitpunkt ebenfalls in Griechenland waren, und ich kann nur sagen, dass man schwerlich herzlichere und aufmerksamere Gastgeber finden kann als sie. Das Haus war wie beschrieben großartig ausgestattet, und die gesamte Zeit unseres Aufenthalts waren Peter (und auch Kristos, der nicht minder charmante Hauswart) immer am Start, wenn irgendwas nicht funktionierte oder es eine Frage gab. Das Grundstück ist weitläufig und schön. Wärmstens empfehlen können wir die kleine Bank an der Landspitze um abends aufs Meer zu gucken, sowie die Liegen im Außenbereich im ersten Stock um Nachts die Sterne anzusehen. Die Schlafzimmer sind allesamt klimatisiert und mit Mückengittern ausgestattet, es gibt WLAN im ganzen Haus und die Küche lässt ebenfalls keine Wünsche offen. Darüberhinaus ist das Wohnzimmer äußerst gemütlich und die vollflächige Glasfront mit Blick aufs Meer tut ihr übriges. Wir waren rechtzeitig zur Feigenreife dort und konnten jeden morgen frische Feigen vom Baum hinter dem Haus pflücken. Durch das umschlossene sehr großzügige Grundstück konnte man die Kinder bedenkenlos springen lassen, und das Haus mit dem Grundstück und dem Strand bietet einen tollen Ort zum Entdecken. Alles in allem können wir die Villa Svolis nur allerwärmstens empfehlen und wir wünschen unsere Nachfolgern genauso viel Freude und Erholung wie wir hatten.

Traumhaus, weg vom Touristenrummel

Wir haben unseren Urlaub im Haus SEHR genossen. Alles wie versprochen, alles sauber und gut organisiert. Perfekt ausgestattet! Alle Griechen sind freundlich, das ist oft nicht so in anderen Ländern. Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt, und wenn wir nicht gleich nächstes Jahr wieder kommen : das werden wir sicher weiter empfehlen. Danke für einen unvergesslichen Urlaub!

Urlaub unter Griechen im Traumhaus fernab des Tourismustrubels

Nach jahrelangen Urlauben mit unserer Großfamilie in Griechenland sind wir mittlerweile nicht nur Fans, sondern auch richtige Kenner von Land und Leuten geworden. So können wir mit Fug und Recht behaupten, dass die Villa Svolis, die wir heuer erstmals besucht haben, eines der besten Domizile in der Ägäis ist. Die Lage des Hauses mit Sicht von jedem der Zimmer auf das wenige Schritte davor liegende türkis/blau/grün-schattierte, glasklare Meer und die Umgebung sind fantastisch. Auf dem großen Gartengrundstück stehen nicht nur Pinien-, Oliven-, Feigenbäume und duftender Rosmarin, sondern blühen auch Oleander und eine prächtige Bougenville. Der Garten mündet direkt in den Strand, den wir fast gänzlich als Privatstrand genießen konnten. Dort sind aufgrund des groben Kieses für besonders empfindliche Füße Badeschuhe durchaus zu empfehlen. Das Haus selbst ist sehr gepflegt und mit jedmöglichem Komfort ausgestattet, sodass man sich wie zuhause fühlen kann. Klimaanlagen, TV, WIFI, Bücher, Spiele, komplett ausgestattete Küche.... und die jeweils eigenen Badezimmer und WCs sind für eine 7-Personen-Familie wie wir nicht unwesentlich! Christos, den überaus freundlichen Hauskeeper, möchten wir besonders hervorheben. Er war stets zur Stelle, wenn wir etwas brauchten und hat uns außerdem mit Tipps und Ratschlägen versorgt. Danke Christos! Auch die Urlaubsvorbereitungen wurden uns durch den Eigentümer durch eine App sehr erleichtert, auf der er alle relevanten Informationen, Tipps und Empfehlungen auflistete. Darüber hinaus stand er uns auch schon im Vorfeld unseres Urlaubs für Fragen und Hilfestellungen zur Seite. Wir durften Peter Svolis als sympathischen, für alles aufgeschlossenen und um das Wohl seiner Gäste bemühten Vermieter in Karystos persönlich kennenlernen. Aktivitäten und Ausflüge, die uns sehr gut gefallen haben: Dikelas Dive Center: Tauch-und Schnorchelausflüge Petalli Inseln Dimossari-Schlucht Festung Castello Rosso Drachenhäuser Von den zahlreichen Tavernen/Restaurants fanden wir diese beiden besonders gut: To Rema ganz in der Nähe (besonders netter Grieche mit schottischer Ehefrau) Cavo d'oro (in Hafennähe) Wer Urlaub unter Griechen und fern vom Tourismustrubel verbringen möchte, ist in Karystos in der Villa Svolis allerbestens aufgehoben! Trotz dieser Empfehlung hoffen wir aber, dass die Villa zukünftig nicht zur Gänze ausgebucht sein wird, sodass wir baldigst wiederkommen können!

DIREKT AM MEER

Die großzügig gebaute Villa mit privat Stand, liegt in der nähe eines süßen Fischerdörfchen mit kleinen typischen Restaurants mit griechischen Leckereien und Bäckereien. Das schönste ist, dass wir in unserem Sommerurlaub kaum einem Touristen begegnet sind. Mein Favorit war es mit der Kaffeetasse in der Hand morgens, direkt nach dem Aufwachen, an den Strand zugehen und eine Runde im Meer zu schwimmen (max. 20 Schritte vom Bett aus). Das Meer ist ruhig und lädt zum schwimmen und schnorcheln ein. Der weite Blick über das Grundstück mit Olivenhain, Feigenbäumen (yami) bis hin zum Meer ist gigantisch. Das Haus ist top ausgestattet, es fehlte an absolut gar nichts. Perfekter Ort um mit Familie (n) und/ oder Freunden zu entspannen. Auch die Kommunikation mit dem Besitzen war immer freundlich und sympathisch. Besonders die Geheimtipps für unsere kleinen Ausflüge waren Einzigartig. Romantic Beach Holiday at Villa Svolis

We had a lovely and romantic time at Villa Svolis! A definite plus was that the place is far from any typical touristic centers and so we only had to share the beautiful beach, which is only a few metres away from the villa, with other guests of the house and often were even all alone. The pictures on this site are 100% realistic - this is how the place really looks. Another thing we appreciated about the place was that the centre of Karystos with shopping possibilities, nice restaurants and bars was not far away - only a few minutes by car. Altogether, we had a great time and can absolutely recommend Villa Svolis!

für alle die die Natur, das Ursprüngliche, die Ruhe lieben und sich das Meer vor das Haustür wünschen ist dieser Ort ideal! Unsere Familie hat hier eine wunderschöne Zeit verbracht, wir haben uns super erholt und sehr sehr wohlgefühlt und freuen uns auf das nächste Mal - das ist auf jeden Fall ganz sicher.

The dream of a beach holiday coming true

We had a truly wonderful and unforgettable stay at Villa Svolis. The perfect place to gather some beloved people and spent a relaxing holiday time together. We - old friends from university - planned to spent two weeks with friends and family, reading, swimming, cooking and catching up. This place is unique and exceeded all our expectations. It's starts with the waking up: everyone of the rooms faces the sea. You can listen to the sound of the waves anytime from anywhere in the House. The beach is a stone's throw away and during our whole stay we were the only ones using it. This little bay is well tucked away and perfect for little children to access, play in the water and snorkel. The house is very well equipped and has everything for those who also like to cook at home. It was remarkably clean and Christos, the housekeeper, was always very helpful and had some great Tipps how to explore the island. The area also offers a lot to do like boattrips to the surrounding islands or hiking excursions to ancient sights. We also enjoyed the uncomplicated and fast access from the airport in Athens to the Villa Svolis. We were lucky and catched the ferry right away and reached Villa Svolis 3 hours after landing in Athens. We had a wonderful time - that shall be repeated soon.

ein einzigartiges stück erde........

wir sind begeistert! weit ab vom tourismus liegt diese wunderschöne villa in einer bucht inmitten eines kleinen olivenhains, 20 m von dem eigenen privatstrand entfernt! für unsere familie - alles begegeisterte schwimmer - , ein absolutes highlight! nach dem allmorglichen schwimmerlebnis zu einer der kleinen inselchen , dann das frückstück auf einem holzdeck am strand unter pinienbäumen.... wir haben es genossen!!!! von den balkonen hatten wir ein superblick über die ganze bucht! im haus fehlt es an nichts , viel luxus , den es gewöhnlicherweise in strandhäusern nicht gibt. alles in allem ein unvergesslicher urlaub!! ......evia , wir kommen bald wieder d a n k e maria und familie frankfurt

Villa Svolis was built as a place for the Svolis Family to retreat from their busy lives in London. It now belongs to the myself, Peter Svolis, and my brother Nicholas. I am a film director and live in Germany. Nicholas is a captain on luxury yachts and lives in the US. We both feel a strong connection to both Greece and especially Karystos, where we have many friends and where we spent nearly every summer holiday.

Why they chose this property

Our father wanted to find a place that is beautiful, where the water is clean, and where tourism has not taken over the island.

What makes this property unique

This place is perfect for anyone who really wants to be close to the sea. The location is fantastic - a short walk to the beach. And from the upstairs balconies, the view of the sunset is beautiful. There is also a small bench set on our land just above the water that is great for the cool evening air.
