Had a great stay for a wedding in Lisle. Very easy to get to, host was super responsive, kitchen was great and the area was quiet which was ideal for us.
I just took a new job that is based in the area and stayed at "Aunt Betty's" ...I can't wait to come back! Wonderful neighborhood that is very quiet. Clean and comfortable stay with everything you need...especially the hair dryer! (nothing is worse than a wimpy hair dryer!) Definitely does feel like a "home away from home." Host was a fantastic communicator and easy to work with.Great area with a very nice Kroger's and several delicious pizza joints. I can't wait to explore the area and eat more when I come back ...already planning my next stay.
I love staying at this charming little house in a terrific location. I recently took a job in the area so, I stay here frequently, traveling back and forth from Michigan. I appreciate that the host updates the seasonal decoration to make it welcoming and truly a home away from home but most importantly, everything is dependable and consistent. The shower has good pressure and there's always enough hot water. The bed is firm but comfortable; I never leave with an aching back. The appliances work well and I really appreciate the washing machine and dryer because then i can pack less for the week! The back yard is well maintained and always calming after a day at the office.Lots of great restaurants in the area; just tried a new Indian place this week, Saffron, and next door was a fantastic Mexican bakery, Bakery Olivia! I can't wait to see what I will find next.

We stayed at Aunt Betty’s Cottage for 8 nights. I understand and appreciate the vintage/nostalgic concept behind the home, and the kitchen was clean, which was nice. Unfortunately, the overall condition and comfort of the house made for a very disappointing stay. The couch pictured in the listing was not there and had been replaced with a very small, uncomfortable couch. The advertised green armchair was so worn and broken down that it wasn't usable. The king bed was broken, another bed was noticeably slanted, and the bedding and towels were old and uncomfortable. There was scum around the tub, the house had a persistent musty smell, and the washer left residue on our clothes. We chose a private home for the first time after 17 years of visiting Chicago because we wanted somewhere comfortable to relax. Instead, we often left first thing in the morning and stayed out all day because the house was so uncomfortable. We did not contact the host during our stay because most of the issues were not things that could realistically be fixed during our visit—they would require replacing or repairing furniture, bedding, towels, and other items. I hope the host takes this feedback constructively, because the cottage has a charming concept, but the comfort and condition need significant attention.

The whole place was clean with no dust. The bathroom shower was ok. I feel like it could use a good scrub as it looked like there was a little residue build up. If you like a firm mattress, this is the place for you. I didn't sleep well on this type of mattress. There was only one tv in the whole place. There were not any ceiling lights in the living room or the master bedroom, just very dim lamps. The grass in the yard was 6-8" tall, when we arrived, not nice for a small dog to have to walk through. However, the next day, someone did come and cut it but left the clippings lay. They didn't bag it up. For us, sometimes fresh cut grass bothers us but luckily, our allergies didn't flare up after it was cut. I would have rather delt with the tall grass than the cut clippings. I am beginning to think I set my standards to high. So take it with a grain of salt, I guess. Overall, it was an ok place and it worked for what we needed.

This is strange the guest was clean but didn’t communicate once.
We have had monsoons and tornadoes the guest must not know how to make a request to a host we never heard from them.
We
Also have a spotless house and it’s never ever once been advertised as having ceiling fans it’s a vintage chic cottage
