Perfect central Austin location for SXSW!
I would highly recommend this beautiful modern house in a great location. The house was clean and comfortable and the host was very accommodating. I am sure I will be back.
This is a super quiet neighborhood just up the hill from Ziliker and Barton Springs pool. A great place to lay our heads and rest our weary feet after a day at ACL!
This house is so cool and if you're an aficionado of architecture and design, you'll absolutely love this place. Great spot in South Austin. Liz couldn't be more helpful or easy to work with. Can't wait to visit again.

Very Nice and Cozy!
Liz was great to work with! Easy transaction, super easy to deal with. Had a great time and will definitely stay here again in future.
thanks!
The house is in a neighborhood of amazing architecture which made morning walks fun. Close enough to the city that you wanted to go downtown yet far enough away that you felt more comfortable. Very close to all the South Lamar restaurants and a short walk to a great bakery for breakfast or bread.
Located amidst some of Austin's most notable food establishments along South Lamar, and Barton Springs Pool is a one mile walk. Liz, the property manager, was most helpful. The neighborhood is beautiful with rolling hills and green spaces. Quiet enjoyment. We loved it!

Ideal Austin location!
This beautifully home in a gorgeous neighborhood is perfectly situated for quick access to Austin’s hot spots. Barton Springs and Zilker Park are walking distance as is the fantastic hike and bike trail along the Colorado River. Just down the street are great bars, restaurants and coffee shops along South Lamar and South Congress. It's also centrally located to all SXSW and ACL music, computer and film venues.
The house has comfortable and modern furnishings and Liz, the host, went out of her way to make sure the place was well stocked and ready for our stay.

Amazing! In the heart of the action, but a quiet and peaceful stay
We had a great time staying here for ACL. Liz has an amazing, artistic home. It is in a lovely and safe neighborhood very close to Zilker Park (about 10 min walk). Liz was great to work with since day 1. We moved our reservation without any hassle and to make sure we had a comfortable stay, she offered us an extra mattress and bedding for our group. She included a guide to Austin that was very helpful as well. We had a great time here and would definitely recommend the place to friends and family. THANK YOU, LIZ!
The property has a lot of character and is a very cool house. I recommend removing the leather couch since there were so many restrictions around it. We didn't even sit in the den due to not be allowed to have drinks in that space.
The updates to the house aren't quite finished and there wasn't a hot tub but the listing had one noted.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I do want to clarify that there is no space where drinks are not allowed, including and especially the Den and Living Room. I only ask that liquids not be used directly on the leather couch and that has not been a problem for anyone in the last 12 years of renting the house as evidenced by all 5 star reviews with the exception of this one. I do apologize about the hot tub issue: I was mystified by that one, but found that box was indeed checked accidentally and is now deleted-thank you for pointing that out.
About the host
Hosted by Liz
I'm an Architect and have lived in Austin for over 20 years. I just sold my house near S. Congress about a few years ago and bought and renovated this mid-century modern home.
Why they chose this property
Zilker/Barton Hills is a prime, close in location situated near all the greatest hotspots, yet quiet and secluded.
What makes this property unique
This is a A.D. Stenger designed home (think the Texas version of Eichler) with boatloads of character on a gorgeous lot and street.
