Beautiful waterfront cabin; breathtaking views of Whiteface Mountain
This cabin was built by my grandmother as a painting retreat. It's on the Lake Clear Outlet and has an amazing, oversized, screened-in porch; great for viewing the beautiful waterway and Whiteface Mountain. The cabin is a work of art in and of itself that was furnished and decorated by her. The gal had class, and it shows. This location is perfect for a couple looking to spend time kayaking, canoeing, hiking, fishing, biking, painting, hanging out in Saranac Lake and so on. Lake Clear proper is only a paddle away from this location, and the Fish Creek ponds are practically across the street. Those bodies of water are beautiful public ponds; perfect for swimming and canoeing. There's also a pull-out couch because the cabin is certainly comfortable for a family of three as well. If you have questions about the area and location please ask me, I'm here to help!

Just returned from our third time renting. We already cant wait for next year. The cabin was spotless as usual. We always enjoy coffee on the dock in the mornings. We had breakfast at CAVU cafe one morning. Had dinner at Charlie's 2x recommend both highly
This cabin sits right on the outlet, and is less than a mile from the ADK bike trail. As paddlers and pedalers, this location was ideal. The trade off is distance from town (Saranac Lake) and the lack of a washer/dryer and a traditional oven/stove top. The quiet at night was lovely.
Cabin small but right on the water, with a wonderful screened in porch, filled with comfy furniture. Canoeing from the cabin was good. Bed was comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed.
Cabin was very clean and included everything to make your stay comfortable. Good fishing off the peer, kayaking and golf available nearby. Beautiful setting during the Fall!
This was our second stay here. And it was better than the first time! We stayed for a full week this time and it was relaxing. Excellent fishing and swimming from the d
We loved this place ! Great views Fishing Kayaking. The place was better than we could have hoped for.You will have everything you need. The house was great and to top it off the bed was so comfortable.
This place was phenomenal. One of the best we’ve had in the Adirondacks. Cabin was exactly as described. Just a handful of properties on the entire outlet of Lake Clear so it was very peaceful and quiet. The cabin was fully stocked with essentials and very clean. Perfect for a couple. We enjoyed the screened in porch. We definitely would stay here again. Sam was very responsive each time I messaged him and very accommodating when we asked to extend our stay. Thanks for a great vacation.
Cozy little cabin right on the water. Full kitchen if a little scattered and using some unusual appliances (gas griddle, hot plate, refrig, all on porch). But great for two. Could accommodate 4 but two would have to use sofa bed in great room. Wifi access good though pretty much limited to cabin. Great dock for chilling on and fishing from. Fire ring worked but not friendly for rain if fire still too hot to cover. Nice having zoned heating so bathroom could be warmed on cold mornings without having to heat whole cabin. Wished furniture used for kitchen table was meant to sit at. But the negatives were minor and easily worked around. Great that cabin was only a mile from the Appalachian Rail Trail! And restaurant/bar just down the road (1892) had great food and cozy atmosphere.
We had a wonderful stay in this cozy and peaceful cabin in Lake Clear. The cabin is located not too far from Saranac Lake and has adventure right out the back door. It had lots of new kitchen tools/ appliances, the beds were comfortable and everything was very clean when we arrived. They had lots of family games provided and canoes were available to get on the lake! The lakeside views were beautiful to wake up to and have our morning coffee out on the dock. The porch was nice, big, and screened in. The cabin made even the rainy days in the Adirondacks feel like we were somewhere special. The space was perfect for the two of us and we are looking to staying here again. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a peaceful and memorable stay that is authentically Adirondack.
This is a cute cabin in a fantastic location. Right on the water of lake clear outlet and near to the rail trail and hiking. Lots of cooking items are supplied and the screened porch is wonderful. Coffee on the dock for sunrise is a treat. The reason this cabin didn't get a 5/5 review. Water is pumped from the lake and is not potable. Fine for washing and such but not safe for drinking. There was no indication of this in the description or anywhere in the cabin. I contacted Sam when we noticed the pump house and it wasn't until the next day that he let us know we should use bottled water for drinking. This is a great spot. Bring bottled water or maybe Sam could provide a few gallons to start you off.
This is our second time staying at this cabin. We had a great time relaxing, fishing and paddling on the canoe with our dog. The lake/mountain views are phenomenal. We forgot to bring swim towels but there were some available for use. The cabin was clean, had a good number of fans for the hotter days and it was stocked with the necessities. The property manager, Sam, is quick to respond when contacted.
We had an amazing time at this cozy cabin in the woods. The setting is very quiet and private. The cabin came stocked with about everything we needed although we did not bring campfire chairs due to the pictures in the listing, and wish we had brought our own. The property manager showed up unannounced one day and walked right by our window which gave us a little scare. We caught several fish right off the dock and had fun trying the canoe that is included with the cabin. Great spot!
This sweet little cabin had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Loved the seclusion but also not far from things to do off property (highly recommend the trails at Paul Smiths VIC). The host has provided everything down to the detail. We enjoyed the canoe and the dock, but especially the screened in back porch for all of our relaxing time.
We were looking for a place to unplug and unwind, and we found it in Sam’s sweet little cabin! The screened-in porch with views of the water created a magical place to start and end the day, while the location was perfect for kayaking up to Lake Clear to see the loons or taking the 6-minute drive to the Upper Saranac launch. The place is small and cozy, and you can jump off the neat wooden dock for a dip or just sit and listen to the bullfrogs, hermit thrush, and the barred owl. The occasional fisherman passed by on the outlet, and while there is a house next door, it didn’t feel too close for comfort. After one short downpour we came out to see the most beautiful rainbow right from the dock!Inside, there’s a plug-in stovetop to make your eggs in the morning along with a solid coffeemaker, and we used the outdoor grill every night to cook dinner. Because it’s so small and remote-seeming, it felt a bit like camping, but with comfortable beds, endless hot water, and a full sized fridge (not to mention wifi!)Communication with Sam was easy and the location was perfect for us. We couldn’t have been happier to stay in this sweet little cabin. Thanks for such a great vacation!
This is the second time we have stayed there. We love it. The cabin has everything you would need to a nice getaway. It is a very quiet and peaceful place. Look forward to coming back soon.
Celebrating our 50th anniversary at a lovely secluded cabin with everything you needed. Overlooking a beautiful creek which flowed into Lake Clear. Very clean and neat, and the property owner was very responsive to our questions. We definitely are coming back to this gem in the woods! Thank you, Sam.
I stayed here with my husband and 2 year old son and we had a great time. The cabin was the perfect size for our small family and we enjoyed the peacefulness of the area, as it is relatively secluded and private. However, it was a short drive to most things we wanted to do which was nice. The owner quickly responded when I contacted him upon our arrival because the water wasn’t working. He sent someone out immediately who was able to get everything set up and was very friendly. It was everything we look forward to on our yearly Adirondack trips! Would stay here again for sure.

I'm a local guy who with a company in LA that builds recording studios for professional music and film engineers. My wife and I moved back here some years ago, and we live in Saranac Lake. My family owns a few vacation rentals, which I manage, in Saranac Lake and Lake Clear. This location, like the others, is near and dear to us, as it has been in our family for generations. I was born down the street in a house my father built. My brother, sister, and I were toddlers fishing off the dock of this cabin, and we have been fishing there ever since. It's lovey to share this place, and the Adirondack experience, with folks from near and far. My family and I are excited to host you!
Why they chose this property
This lovely cabin is nested up next to the Lake Clear Outlet, and it looks right across the waterway towards the beautiful Whiteface Mountain. The view is breathtaking. The dock is the prize, as you can pull up a chair and get lost in the view or boat away into the painting yourself.
What makes this property unique
This is a one-of-a-kind place. The cabin is perfect for a couple, small family or traveling buddies. It is on the water; tucked away in nature with a unique, beautiful of the Adirondack Park. There are also plenty of other wonderful waterways to explore right next door. Staying in this cabin will be an experience you will not forget.
