About this property

Casita inside an oasis amidst the New Mexico desert; Close to Santa fe and Taos

CASA PARAISO
Secluded in one of the most beautiful valleys in New Mexico, this unique retreat property is an easy 25 minute drive from downtown Santa Fe and 40 minutes from Taos.

The La Puebla valley has several aquifers which allows us to maintain a splendid orchard with 60 fruit trees of different varieties and a gorgeous multi-season flower garden.

Casa Paraiso is the creation of husband team, Giancarlo Solimano and Kurt Schmidt, who purchased the property 9 years ago and transformed it into a true oasis in the middle of the New Mexico desert.

It is one of those magical places where the world simply slips away once entering its boundaries. It is not only an air B n B destination but an immersive retreat space where one can truly decompress from city life.

The accommodation - Casita #1 - is a 500 square feet studio with the living/kitchen area separated from the bedroom and bathroom.

The modern chic organic decor of this casita, inspired by Northern African and Santa Fe architecture creates a sense of relaxation and an intimate connection to the environment.

The casita also features an enclosed private backyard where guests can relax and enjoy outdoor privacy. The kitchen window faces the extensive orchard and picturesque barn.

Kurt, who was raised in an organic farm in Michigan has created a sustainable homestead on the nearly 2 acres of the property, by practising regenerative principles. Casa Paraiso's extended family includes a flock of chicken, sheep, a parrot name "birdie" and our sweet dobermann Farah. We provide our guests with in season veggies, fruits and eggs every morning…

Giancarlo studied design in NYC and has transformed the original 1940s adobe structure of Casita #1 into a modern designer environment where guests can experience a unique and stunning decor.

Guests have access to beautiful outdoor features. such as an asian-inspired koi pond area for sitting and contemplating or an outdoor dining area with a grill in the lush grassy orchard.
