A great place located close to lots of attractions. Had limited cooking utensils and 2 of 3 strands of outdoor lights didn’t work but that did not take away from the wonderful experience and memories made. What would’ve made it even better was having wi-fi available.

We planned a weekend trip for just the 2 of us,the drive to get to our box cart was horrible,pot holes everywhere, don't drive a nice vehicle,needless to say we were literally there 10 minutes and went back home a 3/1/2 hour drive,the box cart looked nice,not at all what we were expecting.

The hot tub and fire pit were the perfect end to our day of hiking. The cabin also has loads of windows and excellent views into the forest, so it's very nice to wake up to.

We had a great experience staying two nights at the box car! We came on a Thursday night and it was super quiet. Friday got a little busier and there’s people close by but not on top of you. It’s private but not secluded, which was what we wanted. The hot tub needed some chlorine added and the host was very quick to respond when texted and it was taken care of quickly. Communication was great and the hot tub was wonderful. The only complaint we had was the master bed is rickety and not very comfortable, it could use a replacement. And if you don’t like microfiber sheets, bring your own. Beyond that, the place is perfect. The hills getting there are pretty rough and we watched a lot of people struggle turning around, WHICH YOU DON’T NEED TO DO for this property. We just pulled into our space in front of the house and when we wanted to pull out, the road makes a loop back to the entrance. No need to do a crazy 5 point turn like some people we saw. Definitely recommend not driving a low clearance vehicle though. We were glad we took the truck for the potholes in the steep gravel drive up through the resort area. But it is a really cool location and the boxcar is in one of the best spots it seems like. We’d be happy to revisit!

The cabin was fantastic and everything seems brand new and clean. Bed was super comfortable and cute decor. Only negative is that there really isn’t any storage space for clothing, there were a LOT of wasps inside (we didn’t bother them and they didn’t bother us) and DO NOT arrive after dark your first day. Even with written directions it was hard to find. I would stay here again and I would be comfortable In any of the cabins.

We are sorry to hear about the wasps during your visit. We do regular preventative maintenance and pest control around our cabins, but occasionally the orange-red wasps common in our area can still make their way inside. They are typically very docile and tend to keep to themselves, but we completely understand that they can still be a nuisance. We appreciate you letting us know so our team can keep an eye on it. For future guests, we do recommend arriving before dark for the first visit if possible, especially for those unfamiliar with the area. The Gorge roads and cabin locations can be a little tricky at night, so reviewing the map and written directions ahead of time or arriving during daylight usually makes things much easier. We really appreciate your thoughtful review and would love to host you again anytime.

Cute cabin but be aware that there is NO WIFI HERE. There's a smart tv and a QR code on the table for the rental info and clean up instructions which I find ironic because we had NO SERVICE and could not access those. If you have Verizon be prepared to have virtually no connection your entire stay. We had to go to a local restaurant to try to download anything on our phone (the Mexican and pizza place have Wi-Fi as well as the coffee shop nearby thankfully). Also I echo the very steep gravel roads with pot holes leading up to the cabin. Would not want to try to find this place in the dark for the first time. Most of the string lights were out/disconnected outside which was a bit of a bummer. Fire pit and hot tub were nice.

To help guests plan ahead, we clearly note in the listing that this cabin does not have Wi Fi, and we send every guest a detailed cabin guide immediately after booking so they can review important information about the property before they arrive. While most major cell phone providers typically receive 2 to 4 bars in this area, service can occasionally become limited during especially busy weekends as the local towers handle the increased number of visitors to Red River Gorge. We also appreciate your comments about the road and outdoor lighting. Twin Arch Road does have a steep approach, though the steepest section is fully paved. We include photos of the neighborhood and cabin location in our guide to help make arrival as easy as possible, especially for first time visitors. Great Getaway!

Loved the Box Car Cabin! It was the perfect location to visit many different trails for hiking, kayaking adventures, and much more! The hot tub was the perfect way to relax after a day of discovering the Red River Gorge trails.

The cabin was clean and well equipped. The location was perfect and the on property hike to not one but two natural arches was a huge bonus! The outdoor area with the fire pit and hot ton was just what we were looking for to unwind. My one and only suggestion for management would be to upgrade the mattress and sheets.

Another great Gorge couple's getaway with these hosts. The Box Car was cozy, with the garden offering both convenience and a measure of privacy around both the fire pit and hot tub. It's a much more modern cabin than the last one we chose, which was great.This is not a complaint, but visitors should be advised that the entry into the property is an extremely steep, one lane concrete road. If your car is underpowered or lacks AWD/4WD, it will prove challenging.

Great location

The property was in an amazing location. Everything we wanted to do was just minutes away. The house was well appointed and very clean. Though the house did not have wifi, I had full 5G bars (T-Mobile) and we just used a phone hotspot for the TV, not that we watched much. The gorge, locals, and hiking were amazing. We also loved the crystal kayaking (book well ahead). I would stay in this cabin again.

This was the sweetest little cabin. Super clean and private still had some of the modern conveniences but you knew you were off grid. The drive up the hill was frightening at first but we got used to it and all was good. The hot tub was great and the fire pit too. Thanks for the wood. We bought some, didn’t realize it would be provided.

Fathers Day Trip

This little cabin was perfect for our small family fathers day celebration. The space was comfy and well stocked with everything we needed. The host was very responsive with any questions or concerns we had. The lights out back created a wonderful atmosphere at night and the hot tub was very relaxing! We would definetly consider staying here again.

Nice place!

We were very happy with our stay overall. It was just as advertised. The only improvement I would consider would be the mattress. It was too soft for us, but that is just an individual preference. Very clean, especially for a pet friendly cabin. Would recommend to others.
