About this property
Spacious and Secluded Rocky Mountain Retreat on 5 Acres
Welcome to your ultimate Rocky Mountain getaway, perfectly situated near the border of Park and Chaffee counties in the peaceful Ranch of the Rockies. Perched at nearly 10,000 feet on 5 secluded acres, this sprawling 5-bedroom, 3-bathroom home delivers modern and comfortable accommodations surrounded by miles of untouched wilderness. Whether you are seeking a restorative wellness getaway, a remote-work sanctuary, or a launchpad for summiting nearby 14ers, this retreat provides the perfect balance of communal gathering spaces and quiet serenity. The Space & Sleeping Arrangements This expansive home comfortably hosts your entire group with a highly flexible layout: Main Level: Features a beautifully updated open-concept kitchen, a dining area that seats 12, and a spacious living room anchored by a cozy fireplace. Step out onto the large front porch to soak in panoramic views of Pike’s Peak and Black Mountain. The primary suite offers a king bed, private bathroom, and laundry. Two additional upstairs bedrooms (each with a queen bed) share a full hall bathroom with a shower/tub combination. Lower Level: Offers two more private bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a TV, plus a shared bathroom featuring a walk-in shower. Flexible Bedding: We provide three compact "floating" twin mattresses (real mattresses, not air beds) that can easily be moved around the house if guests sharing a room prefer separate beds. The Retreat Space: Downstairs, you'll find a massive 34' x 13' yoga studio that opens directly to the front patio. It’s an incredible space to stretch out after a long hike, convene as a group, or enjoy some quiet meditation. Modern Comforts & Amenities Connectivity: Stay connected with fast, reliable 50 Mbps WiFi—a rare find at this elevation, making it great for remote work or streaming on the smart TVs. Fully Equipped Kitchen: Prepare meals with ease using the high-heat propane stove and the countertop Berkey water purification system. Climate Control: The house stays cozy year-round with baseboard heating and a propane fireplace. (Note: At 10,000 feet, the crisp mountain breezes keep things naturally cool in the summer, so there is no need for air conditioning!) Conveniences: Enjoy an attached garage and a dedicated mudroom for storing outdoor gear and dropping snowy boots. Location & Outdoor Adventure This home is the ultimate basecamp for exploring Colorado's high country. Hiking: You are just a short drive from world-class trailheads, including the Collegiate Peaks (Mount Princeton, Huron Peak, Missouri Mountain, etc.) and the Mosquito Range (the Decalibron Loop). Nearby Towns: Enjoy a scenic, traffic-free 2-hour drive from Denver via Hwy 285. You are also only 30 minutes from the shops, restaurants, and amenities of Fairplay and Buena Vista. Important Details to Note High Altitude: We are located at nearly 10,000 feet. Please drink plenty of water and be mindful of altitude sickness, especially when arriving from lower elevations. Road Conditions & Parking: The property is accessed via county and neighborhood dirt roads. AWD or 4WD vehicles are highly recommended. Our dirt driveway easily accommodates up to a dozen cars, with space for 6 without blocking anyone in. Community Rules: Located in a peaceful, tight-knit community, this is strictly not a party house. Please respect noise levels and turn off outside lights before bed—you will want the lights out to see the incredible stargazing anyway!
