Everything was as described. Host was very responsive.Stove and BBQ working fine, no issues. Comfortable beds, good shower. Beautiful view of the lake. Perfect for 6 people.
The view is amazing. Steep steps to the dock and water access. House is spacious. Home is a bit dated but overall maintained. The oven didn’t work during our stay and the sloppy floors were a bit difficult for our handicapped family member. Overall we had a nice family vacation. The view makes up for little inconveniences.
Celebrating Christmas with relatives in Beaverton and needed our own space for the weekend! Owners were incredibly accommodating and responsive. Such a great little cottage in the perfect location. Highly recommend!
I have stayed with family on a few occasions. Walk to town is nice

We rented this lovely cottage on the lake and invited nearby family members to visit our stay for a few days. Everyone from babies to elders enjoyed the shallow water and catching some sun on the dock. The cottage was well stocked with towels, linens and cookware.
Had a great time. Beautiful cottage inside and out. Host was in close contact and answered everything we needed to know. Would love to come back.

Cottage: great amenities, clean, all that you need for a wonderful stay.
Backyard: generous, private, excellent sunset views very nice outdoor fireplace.
Beach: excellent 2 entry points, from the land and from a very nice dock.
Lake simcoe: clean water and warm (~25 Celsius) at the end of July.
The only think you may need to bring is beach chairs for the dock.
We will stay here again.
Thank you very much for hosting us.
An incredibly view with the clearest water. The yard was open and very spacious. Property was well stocked. There were a ton of little fruit flies especially in the bathroom and master bedroom, which was a little off putting.
But overall we had a good time. And that view was spectacular.
Perfect size ranch bungalow accommodating 6 adults with 1 1/2 bathrooms. Backs onto Lake Simcoe with stairs leading down to the pebble beach and dock. Quiet and private location with cedar hedges separating properties. Short drive to Beaverton, local grocery store and LCBO. Would rent again.
This place is very spacious and nicely decorated - both the building and grounds. The approximately 25' wide private beach is a mixture of stones and shells, surrounded by shrubs, and needs shoes on one's feet as suggested. You descend to it by stairs and cannot see it from the grounds if you were supervising children, The changing moods of the sky and water were fascinating, and the sunsets awesome. Nature had deposited numerous spider webs everywhere, (July 2025) so not pleasant for the squeamish. There were plenty of entertainment supplies for a rainy day. Also, many fluffy towels, and a good shower. Hot water was plentiful. We had minimal contact with the host who lives the other side of a thick hedge. What we had was friendly and helpful, especially about our changing rota of people staying overnight. Neither the washing machine or oven worked during our seven-night stay, Personally, I would have required the cleaner to be more thorough, especially in the kitchen. We would stay again.
We ,family of 7, stayed at the cottage for a week and absolutely loved it. The cottage is very spacious with everything what you need for your stay. The beds were very comfortable with a lot of extra blankets, pillows and bedding items. Kitchen was stocked with all essentials we needed for our stay.
The view was absolutely fantastic. We really enjoyed sunset almost every night and got unbelievable pictures.
Kids spent most of the day on the dock fishing and swimming. The water was shallow, therefore it was safe (water shoes are essential).
We run into some issue but the owner was wonderful in resolving it. She always answered our messages and phone calls.
Overall, it was an amazing stay. We will recommend this cottach to our friends and will consider it fo the next summer.

Disliked: Listing accuracy
Very disappointed.
The grass needed cutting, especially since the grounds are very uneven. The exterior of the cottage had shed flies and spiderwebs. The barbecue was the same and it was not cleaned inside so we couldn’t use it. The interior was. When I rent a place, I shouldn’t have to clean up the property or the appliances before I can use them that should’ve all been done! What was missing in the ad was the fact that it’s called a beachfront cottage but they neglected to take a picture of the beach and the fact that there’s something like 35 stairs you have to take to get to the beach so when none of us could go there either. Two of us can’t do the stairs I told the owner in advance that I was having somebody with me that is bedridden they can’t walk on their own so how would they go down to the beach. Very very disappointing! And there’s no beach at all it’s a dock so there’s no sandy beach to sit on or whatever. The whole point in renting this place was mainly for the beach and barbecue and the fire pit was also not cleaned out so we didn’t use it either. We mostly just stayed inside the cottage. It was too much money to rent a cottage and we couldn’t use everything that was on the website. I spoke to both Andrea and her husband Bob and I told him that I expected compensation for these reasons. The cottage itself is all uneven. I almost fell a couple of times because the floor is so uneven. There needs to be a lot of work done to that place. I have yet to receive any compensation!
Twin brothers and their wives, one from British Columbia, the other from Nova Scotia met up to attend a niece's wedding at her family farm 20 minutes from the charming cottage. The father of the bride is the youngest brother of the family. The location of the cottage is a very pleasant walk from the town of Beaverton. The weatherman was not very cooperative on the wedding day, but by the time of departure, we had some rather nice seasonal temperatures. The only negative, was my husband left his power cord for his laptop!
The size and location of the cottage was excellent but our biggest issue was the mice poop on the kitchen counter and stove. We had to throw out bagels, bread and muffins the first morning and then stored the rest in the fridge and microwave for remainder of the week. Every morning we had to Lysol the counter and stove before use. Very disappointed. We advised there would be 6-8 people for 7 days and we where only left with 1 half roll of paper towel and 3 half used rolls of toilet paper (I still have no idea how they were all half used), no garbage bags and only 1 compost bag. We have been renting cottage for over 10 yrs now and never experienced anything like this before.
Hopefully you take this into consideration for future guests.
Thank you

About the host
Hosted by Andrea Chisholm
Bob and Andrea have grown up as cottagers in the Beaverton/Bolsover area. We have many family and friends who have cottages in the area. We have always loved the proximity to the city, and all the features of city living, but in a private relaxing cottage setting.
Why they chose this property
This cottage is right next door to our own, so we can provide personal attention and support to our guests.
What makes this property unique
Set on 105 feet of Lake Simcoe waterfront with a western exposure, this cottage offers everything for a great getaway Situated in a beautiful country setting, private and quiet; you’d never know you were only a stone’s throw from city amenities. Enjoy shopping, restaurants & festivals in town (walk to Beaverton) and nearby Orillia, Fenelon Falls, Lindsay & Uxbridge or take in dinner, a show and gambling at Casino Rama, 20 minutes away. Park your boat at your own private dock and fish, swim, ski or tube in warm, clear water (weed free) with a sandy/stony bottom. Close by to the Trent Canal system. In the evening delight in tropical sunsets and roast marshmallows and hot dogs in the fire pit at night.
So much for a family to enjoy; So much to share with friends
