This home will take your breath away. Modern design with fun decor to admire during your stay. The views of the country & water for miles. This home has been designed to accommodate large parties. Family events or company retreats. Open floor plan leads right out to the open water. Enjoy just laying out in the water, paddle boarding, sunbathing on the upper deck, or bring your boat and or jet skis. A boat launch is right next door, easy drop off and pick up. There is something for everyone.

The area has wineries, golf courses, and antique shopping nearby! Restaurant recommendations in Kingsland: Spikes BBQ, Burger Town, La Tequila Jalisco. If you want to drive a little further to Marble Falls, Blue Bonnet Cafe and Simply Pho are amazing! M & M Donuts are the best donuts ever! A must try.

Thanksgiving Getaway

When we first stumbled upon The Anchor House, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Tammara is the most thoughtful, gracious host. She provided us with all the information we needed and responded to questions right away. The Anchor House was just perfect! The kitchen contained everything one needed to have a Thanksgiving dinner for 12. The oven cooked the turkey perfectly. Plenty of room and the views were beautiful. The hot tub, along with the beautiful weather and views, was exactly what the doctor ordered. Tammara went way beyond to make our long-weekend comfortable and memorable. Thanks Tammara and Anchor House for a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! We will be back!

This lake house is beautiful. It's a large home that can comfortably sleep 10+ people. We had 12 people staying and everyone was comfortable. The kitchen has a large fridge to hold whatever food you bring. We used the grill to make burgers. There's a hot tub which we loved. The hot tub fits about 5 people comfortably. There's a large top deck that's great for sun tanning. There is a dock for a boat that we didn't use but it's an option! The owner is friendly and responded immediately when contacted. I highly recommend this property. We had a relaxed weekend to catch up with friends.

Perfect home and location for a family reunion!

This lakefront home has gorgeous views, ample space, and is perfectly located close to parks and good restaurants. Our extended family of 13 stayed here for a family reunion and had an absolutely wonderful time. Tammara is very responsive and the home was clean, beautifully appointed, and well-equipped. We enjoyed the hot tub and went paddle boarding on the lake (80 degree weather in December!). We went hiking at Longhorn Cavern State Park and Inks Lake State Park and highly recommend both to visitors. We also had delicious take out from Alfredo's Mexican Restaurant, Sal's NY Italian Kitchen, and Aranya Thai Restaurant. Thank you, Tammara! We hope to be back soon!

Fun on the River

Great location on the river! We enjoyed the paddle boards and frog pad and being able to use them right off the dock. I would highly recommend using Splash Rentals to rent any boats. They delivered the boat right to the dock foe free and we’re there to pick it up when we were done-totally hassle free.

Open and expired food in refrigerator and cabinets. No room for our stuff.

Boat lift and jet ski lift were not for renters use.Expired Food in refrigerator and cabinets. No room I’m small closets and dresser because were full of owners belongings. Dresser had dirty men’s shoes in it that smelled bad. A locked gate at next door boat ramp although everyone in the neighborhood had a key because there was a wild party every night with alcohol, loud music, naked people, cussing, fishing and barbecue until all hours of night. Broken locks on door, refrigerator door on drawer broken, poor response from owner about lock and not working and not enough bedding provided. It’s a shame because the house itself was nice.

Rhonda, we are a bit surprised by your review. We have had all 5 stars and we take such pride and love in our home. We reached out to you immediately and had a contractor remedy the door lock that was low in battery. We also tried calling you for the additional bedding you requested but never received an answer. (Every bed has bedding and additional blankets are provided). The broken refrigerator drawer has been on back order, but we hope to receive that soon. The Boat lift and Jet skill lifts are not advertised for tenant use. We do have a place to tie off your boat and jet skis along the boat dock. I have never experienced parting all night, loud music or nudity coming form the neighborhood boat ramp. We apologize for you having experienced that. We do live in this home, and leave a few belongings in the closet, but the drawers are empty and there is plenty of room to hang your belongs for your stay.

Group of adult men had a great time together.

The property was wonderful. It is in a great location on the water. The house and property was clean and tidy. We had a fun time grilling, sitting on the docks upper deck and chilling in the water.

Everything You Need for a Great Stay on the Lake

All the amenities you could ask for at a quieter location on the north end of the lake. Close enough to Kingsland for boat rental or take-out. Well-stocked kitchen and great lower level a/c hang-out area to get out of the heat. Had some bandwidth issues trying to watch family movies at night, but not unexpected in a remote area. We would definitely come back.

We had an absolutely wonderful time! We didn't realize the second level of the dock has a gate to allow the 'bold' to jump down to the water. Not joking when I say the kids had to have jumped 200 times. It was definitely the highlight! Only a couple of small initial issues with the home that Tammara took care of right away. Highly recommend!

Great house and location

The house was exactly as described and pictured. The kitchen was stocked so well and we love to cook - we were happy to see all the spices and condiments available that most rentals don’t provide. The dock was great to be able to tether our rafts to and everyone enjoyed the paddle boards. Kids loved playing on the Lilly pad in the water as well. The upper deck was great for sunbathing and lounging in the evening. We only wish they had a fire pit or chiminea so we could’ve done s’mores! There were some issues with the WiFi going out but the owner was responsive and we were able to get it fixed by the 2nd day. Overall it was a great vacation and perfect house for several families with kiddos ranging from 2-16!

Great Lake house

This was the perfect lake house for our group. Plenty of room both upstairs and downstairs. Kitchen was spacious. Great dock for fishing and swimming and the upper deck area was perfect for laying out, relaxing and evening meals. Easy access to the main lake, but plenty of space in the river to jet ski, water ski or tube right off the dock.

Bad Time

When we arrived, the house was somewhat prepared, no toilet paper or paper towels, when we went to the deck there was sticky stuff all over the outdoor table. When my son-in -law went to but his boat into the boat slip as he has many times ( being a boat owner) he was accused of breaking the cable . Not knowing who had previously used the boat slip I told the owner what had happened. We were told that no trouble had been had by them for 2 years previous. Well we don’t live there and don’t know what maintenance had been done to make sure it was in good working order. Then we were cooking on the grill and my son went to put trash into the outdoor trash can which was full of maggots, gross. No liner in trash can. I had to use a large one I had brought from my home. Another issue that concerned us was the next door boat ramp, apparently it is used by all in that neighborhood, with random people in and out, kind of scary when you are there with grandchildren. My husband spent time fixing air vent so air conditioning would blow in rooms upstairs and master bedroom.

This is a perfect example that no good deed goes unpunished. We let you use the boat lift, even though it was not included in the stay. When you broke it, we drove 2 hours to assess the damage, and we had it repaired the same day. You unwinded the cable all the way and that’s why it broke. You offered to pay for the repairs b/c you know it was your fault; but when we sent you the bill, you took it out on us with a bad review. We have 50+ reviews with an average of 4.9 stars, that is 99% of the people who have rented our house have loved it. It’s ok, we wish you the best.

Love this House

Loved this lake house. The house is very spacious and has plenty of towels and room to refrigerate or store items. The deck is where we spent most of our time and it had a great view.

We loved this property!! The location on the lake was perfect for us! A perfect location to wake surf with calmer waters and less boat traffic! The house is so homey and clean!! Would love to stay here again!
