Coal Miners Casa - Family Friendly - Hot Tub - 5 Miles To NRG National Park

This spacious and inviting retreat offers a comfortable stay for up to 8 guests.

The primary bedroom has a king bed. Two additional bedrooms are equipped with queen beds. The fourth offers two twin beds.

Soothe your senses in our inviting hot tub or by the fire pit.

We offer an EV charger to charge your vehicle.

Unfortunately we do not allow pets.

There is a fully equipped kitchen. The patio provides a BBQ grill and Pizza oven and the spacious living area provides a cozy atmosphere.
The space

The Coal Miners Casa is a family oriented retreat. The history of this area is played out in the décor and authentic coal miner memorabilia.

The game room provides room for the kids and kids at heart to play and have fun.

Off of the game room is a work station area that has that mine kind of feel with a standing work station desk.

The kitchen comes fully stocked with all typical amenities including a cute coffee bar with flavored syrups, a starter set of K-cups and sweeteners.

When it’s time to pick what’s for dinner, the kids will love a pizza made on the pizza oven or hot dogs on the grill.

At the end of a day of adventure in the New River Gorge National Park, soothe your aching muscles in the hot tub or in one of the hammocks down in Hammock Hollow.

Then its time to light the fire in the fire pit and make some family memories making s’mores and reliving the days events together.

Life is about experiences and making memories and we know The Coal Miners Casa will help your family make memories you’ll talk about for years to come.

Please make sure the hot tub is covered and the temp is set to 90 degrees. We would appreciate if any dirty dishes would be placed in the dishwasher the the dishwasher started. You do not need to unload the dishwasher but starting it will help us get ready for our next 5 star guest. Please strip all sheets and pillow cases and place in the laundry room. Not blankets or shams.

Great stay! Amazingly decorated and stocked with fun things to do as well as useful amenities. We cooked from here most of our stay, saving us money! Loved all the games, fire pit and hot tub. Very nice property and area so close to a nice walking path. This stay felt like a steal with all the offerings. Plenty of room to spread out. Host was very attentive. No issues, but they were quick to answer regardless. Easy check-in! All was great. Thanks again!

Close to all the hiking your heart desires

We rented this property for a small reunion of friends because it was centrally located to our homes. The big bonus was how close it was to the amazing New River Gorge and some beautiful and fairly easy hiking trails. Clean, comfortable and close to many beautiful spots.

Great stay

We stayed at Coal Miners Casa superbowl weekend. The house had plenty of room for 8 people. It was very clean and stocked with everything we needed and more. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire-pit area. The game room was stocked with some different games for all ages. The rails to trails path was a short walk from the house and we enjoyed a nice walk. Would definitely rent again next year for our yearly trip!

Wonderful House for a Family Getaway!

My family had a great time staying at the Coal Miners Casa! Timothy was very responsive and helpful. The house was just as described and perfect for us. It’s a quick drive to the national park, as well as great breweries and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay immensely and I expect we will come back again in the future!

Short but fun trip

Our boys had a lot of fun with the games on a rainy day. The house was very neat and clean, and the owner was very communicative and helpful during severe weather. Short drive to great restaurants in the area and to New River Gorge.

Almost Heaven

This home was lovely, fully equipped, perfect location, and incredibly relaxing. Checking in and out was simple, the hosts were in contact and available if you needed anything. There was information on the surrounding area and the BEST hiking trail book I have seen. My son and I enjoyed exploring and hiking the area. Highly recommend this rental, 5 star stay.

Great and relaxing stay

We really enjoyed the home. It was clean and as described. The place was comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen was great, we cooked a full Christmas dinner. The hot tub was fantastic and the location was very close to the New River Gorge. We hiked and explored daily. Pies and Pints was an excellent restaurant recommended by the host.The host was very responsive. Our travel plans included a special request which the host graciously accommodated. They were fantastic and checked in on us as needed. We were extremely pleased.

Sweet little place

My family thoroughly enjoyed staying at this cute little house in a quiet hilly neighborhood not far from New River gorge. It was extremely clean and really nicely decorated. The kids loved the basement cam room, the hot tub, and the fire pit which has tons of firewood available. The linens and coffee and popcorn station were all very nice. I was surprised for the EV charger for our car which worked out perfect.

Great spot

This was a great place to stay. The owner was super communicative and the place was extremely clean when we arrived, which we really appreciated. There were small touches that made it even more special. We used the pizza oven and made homemade pizzas for everyone and we built a fire and made smores. They had smores supplies and sticks. The only downside is it is a little drive to things, but only maybe 10 minutes. We visited breweries and hiked and had a great time. I would recommend this place to friends staying for a parent get-away (what we did) or for a family.

Incredible Stay

We cannot say enough about our stay. The hosts were quick to respond to our inquiries, providing more than adequate assistance. The house was built extremely clean. They provided enough “starter” amenities that lasted our entire stay (2 nights for 8 adults), we didn’t need to use our own. (Ex. Dish detergent, laundry pods, hand soap, paper towels, lighter for the grill and fire pit) Everything around the house was well labeled (light switches, etc). All of this, and only 10 minutes from Ace Adventure, where we ended up most of our trip. Hope this gem is available when we return for more rafting.

Great family weekend!

We are from Ohio and we met friends from Carolina here in West Virginia. It was the perfect getaway in between us. The house was exactly as advertised. We had many kids who enjoyed the game room in the basement and the large living room upstairs for video games and popcorn nights. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook with and had a little “breakfast bar” to sit at so you could see thru to the living room. The whole place was clean and well organized. The hot tub was perfect temperature and the fire pit was used often. We did not venture out of the home to sightsee, but everyone around us was very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

This place has it all!

Communication with host was extremely easy, the house was a ranch they fixed up and it was really decorated perfectly! The kitchen was great to cook in and had all you needed. My only suggestion here would be some nicer larger skillets, aside of that we really don’t search for anything and not find it! Also the basics like salt and pepper, coffee and cool and spices were there which was nice! Cute coffee bar with everything you need and more!! All the fixings for smores. We did have some chocolate but unfortunately it rained the second night and we never got to use the nice fire pit. The hot tub was so relaxing and had fun party lights all around. The pizza oven was awesome. Everything in house was labeled so easy to find every light switch and drawer with needs in. Living room was comfy and TV was above a nice fireplace we did turn on for ambiance. The bedrooms were nicely decorated, beds were clean and comfy. The game room downstairs was awesome and would be great for anyone with kids! It had everything!!little fridge with cold water, a popcorn basket and microwave. Nice bedroom and another bath downstairs and great laundry facilities. I will stress here that this house is not really handicap accessible. There are quite a bit of steps to lug your luggage up. Wasn’t difficult just would not be easy for anyone who has issues with stairs. Sits in a quiet neighborhood,houses around but not on top of you! 20 minutes to NR gorge Ntl park! Loved our stay!! Thank you so much!
