Great Getaway

We had a great time at this quaint cottage! The view is amazing! We enjoyed fishing and relaxing on the river, and visiting many of the nearby towns. Our host, Terry, was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We can’t wait to return to our new favorite spot!

Quiet getaway

Had a quiet getaway on the river. Terry’s cottage is a hideaway to disconnect from a busy life. We enjoyed relaxing on the dock and in the hammock over a few days. Looking forward to staying here again.

Charming Cottage with Fabulous Views!

Our family of four enjoyed a long weekend in this charming cottage. The screened in porch, deck, and dock provided lovely and peaceful water views, and the kayaks were an added bonus! We had everything we needed for meal prep, but also enjoyed exploring restaurants in New Bern. It was a perfect place for us to celebrate Dads and Grads.

Magical

This cottage is a true gem! The best outfitted STR I have ever stayed in, from a kitchen well equipped enough to cook any dinner, to thoughtful extras such as a hammock, crap pots and fishing pole, beaches chairs and towels, and plastic wine glasses! All you need to do is unpack and start enjoying the breeze and view.

Wonderful

First time to Minnesott Beach for vacation. The cottage is amazing...thoughtfully appointed...fantastic amenities (porch with river views, outdoor shower, kayaks, etc.). Neuse River breezes were fantastic, did not use A/C the entire time. Can't say enough good things. Thank you Terry!

A wonderful get away location!

Call My Bluff called my bluff😊😁😁in a great way!! My goal/need was to do nothing!! l just needed another week to continue my relaxing.. The quaint & pleasantly old beach feel of this rustic cabin is charming & felt like home. All you need to relax is there! I can’t say enough about Terry! There for every question & helpful at every corner. LOVE the dock & sunsets…….. the river fish weren’t interested in worms, but they were there teasing us!! A wonder and cool time to be introduced to the Neuse!! Day trips to historic NewBern & quaint Oriental were grand! I’ll be back!!!

Finaly able to book this propeery

After 4 years of renting thru vrbo this property was available. It was everything we had been waiting for. Attention to detail was amazing. From the dock cleats on drawer handles to the port hole window in the bath. Felt as if we couldve stayed forever. The sunrise/sunset views are amazing. The property owner msTerry was helpful and really made us feel"at home". Kayaks crab pots and an awesome dock to fish from. What else could you ask for!! We will definitely be back.

"Gone Fishing"

We used Call my Bluff for 6 days as a fishing retreat and it really worked well for us. It was in the perfect location for us to fish either side of the river. we had access to tackle shops and if we needed anything it was not far away. The house was far more nice than we needed. Everything was neat and spotless. It really works well for our fishing needs. Hope to be back next year. Mike and Seth

Wonderful winter break on the river!

The cottage was spotless upon arrival, the kitchen had everything we needed. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable, and the view of the river was fantastic! Every evening (with the exception of our first evening because it was raining)we watched spectacular sunsets. The cottage is on a bluff, hence the name, so the views were great. Terry is an exceptional host, and the cottage has her artistic sensibility all around. Some nice hikes around the area via the free 20 minute ferry which is just down the block.Excellent value and just all around wonderful. We will most definatly be back.

Why they chose this property

First and foremost, welcome to my newly renovated little slice of heaven.
Call My Bluff was built in 1947 and was originally a fish camp. Fishermen came to relax for a week or weekend of fishing and preparing and eating their catch. If you look above the bed in the bedroom, you can see where the stove pipe was vented through the top of the cottage to heat the fishermen. Up until the winter of 2014, the back porch was screened-in exposing the bathroom to the elements. Even though this was the quaint original structure, there were some things that needed to be modified to make this a cottage comfortable for all seasons.
Enjoy the new outdoor shower, private porch with new case windows, insulation and new windows throughout, steps to the 70’ dock below, upgraded furniture, kitchen cookware and flatware, new steps and handrails to the roadside entrance, new shady umbrella for the dining table on the riverside deck and a 32” smart TV with cable and wireless internet.
Bring your book, a fishing pole and some summer beverages, and you should be equipped for your vacation getaway at Call My Bluff Cottage on the Neuse River at Minnesott Beach, North Carolina. If you are single and need a retreat or if you are a couple seeking a romantic getaway, this is for you! For small families, it is a cozy spot if you love the river and relaxing on the screened-in porch, set for privacy and relaxation. Fishermen welcome. No pets please.
The cottage rents for $825 per week, $325 per weekend, and $100 for each additional night. The cottage will accommodate 4. Go to vrbo to view Call My Bluff. Enter the #359773. If you would like to see the larger cottage next to Call My Bluff, go to vrbo and enter the # 245297 to view Journey’s End Cottage which accommodates 8. Journey’s End is the oldest structure along this stretch of the Neuse River. Old but equipped with everything that you need to make a week or weekend vacation optimal.

What makes this property unique

Relaxation, fishing, a sunset walk on the waterfront, meals with a view of the Neuse River, kayaking, shopping, and dining in Oriental, Beaufort or New Bern.
