We had a wonderful stay here over three nights in mid-April. We loved the style and personal touches of the property, and our dog loved how dog friendly it was and especially loved being able to prance around the beach and pull sticks out of the lake. Our visit was fantastic, and we’d happily come back sometime — well worth it!
We loved staying here! The property was sparkling clean and very well stocked with everything you need. Comfortable beds and space. The view was beautiful and the privacy and yard created great memories for our family. Thank you sharing your beautiful house with us!
Comfortable, quiet, well-appointed cottage on beautiful Forest Lake. Great three-season enclosed porch overlooking the lake. We enjoyed the spectacular views from the lovely rustic dining table also on the three season porch. If you're looking for an out-of-the way, special escape, look no further. Mink Hollow is a little gem!
Nice large older cottage with some significant renovations (kitchen and bathroom) while maintaining lots of charm throughout. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed in first floor "master", nice shower, very comfortable living room furniture, big table on sun porch for a family. We did not take advantage of many of the listed amenities such as grill, canoe, outdoor chairs, etc. Good wifi. Two tvs that we didn't turn on. Washer and dryer downstairs. The place was very clean with no trace that dogs or other pets are sometimes in the house. Anyone with mobility challenges should consult with the very responsive owner, Jamie, about their limitations, as you cannot really avoid some stairs.

About the host
Hosted by Jamie Barthel
I'm a native of Woodstock, New York. I've been a host for seven years and love making inviting spaces for my guests to enjoy! My husband, Doug and I have three boisterous dogs, so we are especially happy to offer our property to other dog owners who don't want to sacrifice quality, just to bring their dogs on vacation with them. Our homes are dog friendly and dog approved!
Why they chose this property
We chose Winchester for its proximity to other towns and cities in NY, Mass, VT. We chose Forest Lake because its beautiful. We chose the property, itself, because it has an old school charm and character. The grounds are gorgeous and we love the forest buffer around the house.
What makes this property unique
We have one of the largest parcels of land on the lake, which gives our property a private, camp-like feel. Our one-hundred year old, Tudor styled home has a charm that won't be found in other properties.
