About this property
Lakefront Home on chain of 14 stunning lakes!
Nestled along the tree-lined shores of Big Lake, among the lush towering hemlock trees of the northern wilderness, stands The Laughing Loon Lodge. Located on the Cisco Chain of Lakes, the combination of 14 beautiful connecting lakes with peace and tranquil waters, is where you cherish the simple pleasures of life. Privacy takes on a new meaning within this beautiful weave of lake water, as homes are tucked-away, completely hidden by the embrace of the forest. The sound of nature. The picturesque views. The idyllic setting is haven for those seeking solace and serenity, peace and restoration.
Wildlife: The lake is alive with wildlife, one of our wonders of life when spending time here. The loons call to one another with happy melodies, (which is how we named the house!) the eagles nest near our home, playful otters move about in groups of 2-3, trout, musky, bass fish are known to be caught …. and so much more. Imagine a serene morning, overlooking the most beautiful sunrise, in a lush forest, where the dawn chorus of birds fills the air, life is full and possible and certainly where nature and wildlife thrive.
All Seasons: The seasons are plentiful and provide year round. In summer, when off water; not fishing, boating or swimming, you will be amazed by the beauty and opportunities around you. Extensive hikes for all levels. Endless trails. Winding roads for long fall car rides. Stunning runs for those that seek movement and exercise even on vacation! Near-by water falls are to be seen not only in summer but in fall. In autumn, the fall leaves paint shallow skies with continuation of nothing but stunning views around you. The winter wonderland is beautiful, winter sports and activities are saught after, this area is known for it’s snow mobile trails and ice fishing fun. Check out Bents Camp for snow mobile “Radar Fest” filled with snow mobiles, music and adult entertainment.
What's nearby:
Open water fishing for three seasons of the year, with ice fishing being very popular during the winter months. When the snow is falling, this home is conveniently close to the snowmobile and ATV/UTV trail systems, offering access to hundreds of miles of groomed trails throughout northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan.
For additional outdoor fun, the Sylvania Wilderness, just a little over 13 miles north, is a 18,000-acre preserve that feels like a smaller version of the Boundary Waters. Old-growth forests and crystal clear lakes dominate the landscape here, making it a great place to enjoy a day of fishing, paddling, and solitude.
Convenience’s to Town: Just a short drive to Boulder Junction or Land ‘O Lakes, you are within reach to all conveniences. Visit the quaint downtown areas, for shopping, strolling, coffee, ice-cream sundaes, antique perusing, food and more. (Grocery shopping available in both towns.)
Welcome Inside: The house feels like a warm and inviting retreat. The heart of the home, centered in the kitchen, with a sprawling chef’s wolf range, makes it easy to cook for small OR large groups. Open to the dining area, an expansive table will seat your whole crew! Two living areas on the first floor, make it possible for everyone to spread out. Tall soaring ceilings, natural light, stone fireplace facade, wood walls and finish – all just a part of your up north experience. Second floor is finished with two large queen bunk-beds that will sleep 8 very comfortably. For those that need to add additional sleeping arrangements close by, blow up mattress will fit in this upper level room. Lower level provides an additional gathering space, walk out and steps from the water, the ping pong table is easily removed and replaced with two large, very comfortable pop up beds. For those that appreciate and seek comfort, a good night’s rest, and mattresses with quality; this will not disappoint.
In the embrace of this tranquil lake home, you'll find the ultimate relaxation and serenity, making your visit a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Welcome to The Laughing Loon Lodge!
Note: A VERY quick kayak ride to Big Lake island. The island has a picnic table, swing, and fire-pit. Great spot to fish and dock a boat. House has a pier that provides space for you to hook up your rented boat.

About the host
Hosted by Corey boldt

My husband and I met in high-school, married in our 20;s, engaged on a small lake near the Milwaukee WI area. Now three boys, 9, 13, and 15 years of age, we are getting busier at home. We find the time to resort away from town to the simpler way of living - in the northern woods of WI. Enough for everyone to do. Biking for my husband never gets old. Running on the paths and staying fit. The boys fish non-stop, if we are not boating or swimming in the summer, we are catching fish. We love taking boat rides to Bents Camp for dinner and drinks, boys get ice cream and swim if its warm. In the winter, we love sledding and walking in the snowy forests! Snow mobiles paths everywhere. But we love our fires, warm coffee and hot cacao and cuddling up with our books. After my own dad passed away, who loved water and boats, it has been a dream come true to find such a place with beauty and serenity .... to share with others.
