Unbeatable views from every level of this 3 level home! This 2,200 square foot, home, located on a six acre wooded parcel on Little Portage Lake in Land O' Lakes, is the definition of Northwood's charm. This is a year round home with a paved driveway has tons of common space for any size group or family. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was very nice and there was plenty of room for the 9 of us. The beds were comfortable and the lake was beautiful. Using the pontoon was definitely a plus. The owner was very quick to respond to our questions throughout the weeks leading up to our stay.
Well kept property that met all of our needs. Owner was very easy to contact and quick to respond to any communication. Great little quiet lake that provided good swimming, and fun fishing for the kids off the pier.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We have stayed in many places in northern Wisconsin and this was one of our favorites. The house worked well for our group of 9. We loved hanging out on the lake, kayaking, seeing the resident eagles, herons and beaver, and nightly pontoon rides. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!Communications were prompt and through.
Was wonderful! Plenty of space for ten people both inside and out. Great screen porch area. Swim area had a nice sand bottom for the kids. Looking forward to a return visit.
The property was very clean. Awesome location with great sunsets. The homeowners were easy to get in contact with and very friendly and helpful. Would recmmend

Thank you for the review!! You were the neatest guests we ever had according to the housekeeper!!!! Thanks and come again whenever you like!!!!
Had 15 people stay and had plenty of room. Power was out for a day after storm but had a generator ready to go and saved the day. Would definitely come back.
We loved staying here!! The property is extremely well taken care of. This property has everything you could need and they have thought of every detail. We used the grill, blackstone, patio, and pontoon. They also had tons of games, puzzles, and movies. Just bring yourself! The hosts were super responsive and also gave recommendations of restaurants they love nearby. Bonus, the sunsets and stars were amazing!
We especially enjoyed cooking outdoors on the grill and the Blackstone griddle. Outdoor seating was good, but one chair was broken. Kids enjoyed swimming with the swim raft and kayaks. Use of the pontoon boat is also very nice. The bedrooms work very well for our group. The ladies did see a mouse in the house our last day.

Thank you for letting me know about the chair. I’ll take a look. Very sorry about the mouse, unfortunately despite traps and bait those pesky guys get in sometimes. Time to get the exterminator out there again
Had a great time at the cabin. The lake was quiet, boat was easy to use, and the property was beautiful. The 9 am checkout is a little rough, especially with little ones, but manageable if you just get everything set the night before. Otherwise everything else at the cabin was great. Would definitely go back.
We had a lovely stay. The house was the perfect set-up for our families. We enjoyed being on the lake in the pontoon and 2 kayaks. The 2-level porch was a nice spot to relax both in the morning and afternoon. We caught a lot of fish! The kitchen and the house in general was well-stocked.
In a word ........ “Excellent"
We totally enjoyed ourselves. The listing says poor TV reception but we found it quite good. The WIFI was also very good.
The fishing was great ! lots of large bass and northern.
It was a great vacation.
We stayed with a total of 15 people & there was more than enough room for all of us. The house is absolutely beautiful. The location right on the lake is breathtaking. The kids had so much fun fishing from the dock & the pontoon, I know it is a vacation none of them will forget. One day we took our boats to Big Portage lake and hardly caught anything. The owners were amazing & answered all questions promptly.
Very nice place. Love the big deck and fire pit. The pontoon boat was a bonus. The 9:00 checkout time was a bit tough with several families with kids and getting all the towels washed and dried and put away . But we managed. 😀
Really enjoyed our stay. From the little things like the fantastic water pressure and water tasting great out of the faucet to the boat and clean house. The decks were set up well as a nice overlook to the lake with a screened porch, Blackstone, Weber, and Bluetooth audio.Trumpeter swans woke us one morning and we watched the bald eagles fly overhead as we fished daily.Bass fishing was excellent, a few crappies, and many small northern. One of us had what we think was a Muskie hit the line, jump out of the water twice as the drag screamed, and eventually went his way after shaking the lure free. The kids really had a blast also feeding the panfish every worm we had.A very quiet lake in early June to relax and unwind.
This house was perfect for our family. The well stocked kitchen was fantastic. The house was clean and comfortable. The lake was great for fishing and boating. The pontoon boat and kayaks were a definite plus as was the sandbox for young kids. Beautiful sunsets every night. If you have young children be sure to visit the Storybook Garden Park in town. The only issue we had was the requirement to wash and dry and fold all towels with a 9 am checkout (and a cleaning fee). This was very difficult especially since we had 11 people. Overall great place to stay. Ron was a very helpful and responsive host.
Wonderful place to spend a week with your family. The long paved driveway was a great hit with our young Grandchildren. Bike riding, scooters, strollers and skate boarding. The outside deck has locking gates which was also great for children and our dog. Spent a lot of time under the new covered deck area. The best of all things was the swimming for young children. Sandy shoreline and the depth starts out very shallow, even had a wonderful raft to swim out to. The pontoon boat is a great plus, very nice shape and everything on it works. Updated kitchen and bathrooms are very nice. Just a wonderful location to be at.
We absolutely loved our stay in Land O Lakes. The cabin is quintessential northwoods inside. The kitchen is fully stocked. There are ceiling fans everywhere to keep the air flowing. The view is just splendid! Little Portage lake is very peaceful and the pontoon is a great added bonus. My nephew caught a large northern but otherwise we were catching small panfish. The location is just outside of town, making trips in for last minute or forgotten items very quick. Black Oak lake, the clearest in WI is just down the road. We only wished it was warmer during our stay, and we all wanted to stay longer. We hope to be back one day. Thank you for sharing this gem with my family!
Large place. Very clean. Lots of beds. We had 6 adults and 3 kids and this house was perfect for our family. Kids caught lots of fish off the dock. The lake is very calm and we used the kayaks a lot. The boat runs well. Keep in mind that it does not get covered regularly so it needed to be wiped down when we got there. No big deal.
Check out is 9am and the rules say all towels and dishes need to be washed, dried, and put away before leaving so maybe pack a few towels to use on the morning of check out. Overall the place is great and we will hopefully be back again!
This property had plenty of room for our family of 13. The kids loved the basement area to hang out. The kitchens and bathrooms were beautiful. Everything you could ever need was in the kitchen. There are a lot of steps down to the lake but it was good swimming even for the little kids. The water at the swimming raft was only about 4 1/2 feet deep. The home is only a few miles from town. Nice grocery store there, a cute park for kids. The adult kids in the family enjoyed lunch at an Indian restaurant while my sister and I (the grandmas) took the grandkids for ice cream. You are also only about 20 miles from Eagle River. The property has a wonderful screen room on the deck. Having to check out by 9:00 am is not ideal but we managed. The only thing I didn't like was how damp and musty the basement bedrooms smelled with the very same carpeting I had in the 80's. Overall I would recommend this property.

Thank you for the suggestions! Replacing the flooring in the basement is the next project!
Perfect for large Group - beautiful setting - outdoor paradise
Great place for a group. The setting is beautiful and the house has everything you need. We didn’t use the boat or spend anytime at the lake as we were there to ride SxS. The guys wished they had brought their fishing poles. The house had games we played at night and a big enough table we could all sit around for meals, games, and doing one of the puzzles. The area is perfect for riding - we took a ride to Eagle River on trails one day and a waterfall ride in Michigan. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

About the host
Hosted by Ron and Michele
After traveling extensively with our four boys throughout the Lower 48 States, Canada and Alaska, we traded in the RV for a Lake House! We want to share our very special home with other families like ours who want to experience the beauty and serenity of the Northwoods.
Why they chose this property
After looking at several properties in the Land O' Lakes area, this home and this beautiful, serene lake just spoke to us and we knew we had found our Northwoods home!
What makes this property unique
Little Portage Lake is so serene and beautiful as its a private lake with no useable public boat access. For those who love powersports on the water, there are MANY "big lakes" with public launches within a 15 minute drive, including Big Portage Lake, Black Oak Lake, the Cisco Chain, North & South Twin and Lac Vieux Desert, to name a few in the Land O' Lakes area. Have fun on one of the other large lakes and retire to Eagles Landing for the most calm and beautiful evening sunset you'll ever see!
