Unwind, relax, and recharge at the Blue Heron Beach Cottage in Birch Bay, your personal haven a mere minute's walk from miles of beautiful beach. Located in the heart of Birch Bay, let our cozy retreat infuse your stay with tranquility, helping you create, celebrate, or just be. Whether penning your latest novel, taking a well-deserved break, or simply creating timeless memories with your loved ones, our retreat caters to every aspiration. Cozy up to the fireplace after sunset and enjoy!
Our beach getaway is cozy, cute, and comfortable. We have thoughtfully prepared and designed the space for your comfort. This space is ideally suited to 2 or 3 couples or a small group of adults to enjoy.
The primary bedroom is on the main floor and has a queen bed, walk-in closet, access to the garden, and an ensuite bath.
The second bedroom is upstairs and has a queen bed.
The third semi-private sleeping area is upstairs, off the second bedroom, and features a full-sized bed.
We have 3 fenced areas for your pup to enjoy and a serenity garden that features a beautiful and landscaped space to relax and take in the scene.
Do you have an electric vehicle that only requires charging via an outlet? We have an outlet available to guests right at the driveway for easy charging. (15 amps max).
We offer a folding desk for remote working, surfing the 'net, or writing that book or screenplay you've been putting off. We recommend taking the desk into our garden and letting inspiration be your guide! The desk can also be tucked away in a corner of a bedroom should you prefer a closed-door, more private experience.

Your host
We are a professional couple who balance a passionate creative life (she's an artist, he's a musician) with careers (we are both small business owners). We love dogs, the outdoors, and everything to do with the BEACH. Birch Bay is a special place to us and we are thrilled to share our seaside getaway with other bird watchers, nature lovers, and dog fanatics. The location can't be beat and we pinch ourselves every time we get to stay "at the Bay". It's magical and we love hosting guests and making their stays memorable!
Why they chose this property
Birch Bay is a hidden gem just on the Washington State side of the US/Canada border. It's literally 2 hours from Seattle, an hour from Vancouver, BC, and less than 30 minutes from Bellingham. It offers us so much access to the beach, to trails, to local farms...it's just perfect for feeling like you're getting away, but you're really not that far from anything!
What makes this property unique
Our cottage was thoughtfully designed and curated for comfort and convenience. As long-time short-term vacation renters ourselves, we have been long building a list of "must-haves" for our own renters and are continually striving to improve our stays as we go. The location provides guests with a literal minute's walk to the beach and the beloved, infamous candy store at Birch Bay, The C Shop. Sometimes the smell of cinnamon buns is wonderfully mixed with the gorgeous salt air of the Bay. It's intoxicating!
