Beautiful property in the woods on a mountain, but still a mile from the center of Issaquah. The walk downtown is great, the walk back is more strenuous. We sat out on the deck or out at the Koi pond with the fire pit as much as we could. Kitchen/great room is lovely, filled with decor from around the world. Renovation project details in the Welcome book are fascinating. We really enjoyed our stay!
"Chez Squak" is a lovely property with a very relaxing vibe. We greatly enjoyed the outdoor spaces - koi pond, waterfall, firepit, and large deck with multiple mountain views. The interior of the home is comfortable and the kitchen is very well stocked. Our hosts were helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again when we visit family in the area.
Simple and elegant. A perfect getaway to relax. Love the deck and koi pond. Everything you needed was close by; grocery’s stores, restaurants, trails. Will definitely stay here again.
Heather and Daniel have created a lovely and comfortable home to share with others. They were so helpful with any questions. I highly recommend this home!
The property is really lovely. The landscaping is amazing and creates a quiet place to read and enjoy the outdoors. We sat at the large outdoor table and ate dinners and sat on the comfortable cushioned bench to drink our coffee in the mornings. The indoor space is wonderful: clean, very comfortable beds and high-quality sheets and pillows. The kitchen was very well equipped and we found ourselves not wanting for anything. The owners were very helpful to us when we had questions and even helped a young family member who was visiting us with feeding the fish in the backyard. All in all a great stay!!
If the description and photos of this property impress you, prepare to have those impressions eclipsed as soon as you walk in the door. Inside and out this home draws you in and instantly makes you regret not booking a longer stay. First thing our kids asked immediately upon entering was if we could stay longer. The attention to detail is remarkable and the thought that went into anticipating what guests needs may be is beyond impressive. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, I can still hear the wind chime that made the time I spent out on the deck so enjoyable. We enjoyed our daily outings, but looked forward to getting back every evening to enjoy this amazing home. No regrets, no recommendations, definitely no complaints.

Why they chose this property
We chose Squak Mountain for its beautiful surroundings and its ideal location near downtown Issaquah and close proximity to Seattle. The home sits on one and a half acres beneath towering 100-foot fir trees, where deer and other wildlife are frequent visitors. A koi pond, cascading waterfall, and gas fire pit create a truly one-of-a-kind setting in the heart of Issaquah.
The property is also close to all the site seeing in the Seattle area and several scenic trailheads, including the trail to Debbie’s View, where hikers are rewarded with a glorious view of Mount Rainier on a clear day.
What makes this property unique
Nature is woven into everyday life here at Chez Squak. We designed our homes to embrace the forest, with expansive windows that frame the trees, cedar decks that extend the living spaces outdoors, and peaceful areas to gather beside the koi pond, waterfall, and fire pit. Whether we’re watching deer pass through the property, listening to birds in the canopy, or enjoying the changing seasons, we never take the beauty of Squak Mountain for granted.
