All linens with comfy down duvets, heated stone flooring in the 2 main baths and a large recreation/media room greet you in this spectacular vacation home. Sleeps 8. This special vacation spot is in the forest above Lake Tahoe a short distance to the lake and Northstar ski resort. Major hiking, mountain bike, x-country ski, snowmobile trails accessible from the neighborhood. Beautiful mountain views. Stateline Nevada casinos are 3 miles away.
The Chef's kitchen is fully equiped; chopping block island, new ceramic range with self cleaning large oven, microwave & dishwasher. The elegant Master has king size bed, with down duvet; heated custom floor tile in the Master bath including dual sinks and jacuzzi jetted tub. Private deck off the Master that leads to backyard patio and Bocce Ball court. Queen beds in guest rooms with log bed twin bunk over Queen. Two full sized sofa beds and two additional twin beds provide additonal sleeping areas in the media/recreation room. There are eight separate beds in the residence. WiFi access. Separate TV & DVD player in rec room for the kids. Six person hot tub with lounge outdoors on private deck, Finnish sauna in the rec. room, tournament Bocce ball court for your recreation pleasure, oversize two car garage. Wood burning River Rock fireplace with gas starter. Two propane BBQs and one charcoal Weber grill available for your culinary grilling endeavors. Not available from November 1 to May 15.

Great Stay

Property was as described and in good order. Even the hot tub and sauna worked :) Great location and close proximity to Northstar and Mt. Rose skiing. Communication was easy and accurate. Our host graciously allowed us some additional time at check out due to a snow storm the day before.

Plenty to do….

We rented place to go on our boat but a storm ruined those plans so we had to make due just hanging around the house. We were able to play bocce ball, go on hikes right up the street with views of the lake, go in hot tub, go in sauna and watch movies. I’m glad the house had so much to offer since I had kids that were bummed due to rain all weekend. Great kids cave on lower level for them to hang.

Good location; non-working amenities

The property is in a quiet neighborhood and on paper it looks like a perfect summer retreat for a family vacation. However upon arrival we found the hot tub to be half full, green and it stunk of sewage. The owner said that if his hot tub serviceman could not come he would not call another. I actually spoke with the hot tub serviceman who told me that the owner called him 2 days prior to our arrival to schedule a cleaning but he declined the job as he was too busy. We could not get the sauna to heat up despite following the instructions in the home's binder precisely. The home felt dusty as though no one had occupied it in months (as evidenced by dead moths and spider webs in the bathrooms). On the plus side everything in the kitchen worked, the house is very spacious, and the bocce ball court and fire pits were a lot of fun.

Why they chose this property

We love being up in the Sierra mountains and especially Lake Tahoe in the summer. Our place is perfectly located in a quiet residential neighborhood close to Northstar Resort, Kings Beach (Safeway store) with hiking/biking trails accessible from the neighborhood. This property has a large backyard with professional Bocce Ball court and it is less than 50 yards from Lake Tahoe conservancy land that is free of residential houses almost all the way down to Lake Tahoe.

What makes this property unique

This is a modern home with vaulted ceilings and unique architechural details. Natural light fills the house and there are views of trees in almost every direction.
For your entertaining enjoyment there are 2 large outdoor decks (one off the living room and one off the masterbedroom) and a backyard patio. There is both propane gas grills and charcoal BBQ for outdoor cooking. Enjoy a fun game of bocce ballon a professional bocce ball court in the backyard.

For relaxing you have choices, a finnish hot sauna and outdoor 6 person hot tub. On cool mornings you can enjoy the warmth of heated stone flooring in either the master or main bath. Great location for fine dining and lake access, Kings Beach is the best beach at the Lake. The best dog beach is at Kayak beach just East of Gar Woods.
