The Longview Cabin: An inviting cabin, next to Pisgah National Forest.
The Longview Cabin: This primitive cabin built in 1940 was given the name, the Longview cabin, for the view of the long valley of farm land that was once there. Surrounded by trees, this lovely rustic cabin is stylish and comfortable. This home is ideal for families or a small group of friends looking for a quiet, natural retreat. Featuring two bedrooms and one bathroom, there’s plenty of room for both communal moments and privacy. The front and back porches on the exteriors of the house, provides guests with views of the expansive woodland. Enjoy the outdoor dining table under the trees. Guests are a short two mile drive, or bike ride from the entrance to the Pisgah National Forest and trails. The cabin is near enough to town for easy shopping and dining trips, yet tucked away in a snug woodland bank for privacy. There is a bike rack for upright storage, protected from the elements and a primitive stone fire ring and outdoor seating. Come see the stars in the night sky! Longview is a very comfortable and cozy rustic abode, with the original clawfoot bathtub, new shower fittings, and the purest mountain spring water around. The comfortable new beds and furnishings make for a special and unique getaway to the mountains. *The cabin is propane heated. “Primitive” means that there is NO AIR CONDITIONING yet for the summer. We supply a fan for each room. The cabin stays cool, and the open window breezes are excellent. You will sleep to the sound of crickets, and the stream. *There is no dish washing machine. We supply a fun and extensive bevy of dish washing tools to choose from, natural based soaps, as well as the standard dish soap. All kitchen supplies are sanitized before your visit. We offer paper plates if you would like to use them.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to stay. Every detail was thought of and so much was provided onsite. Perfect location to downtown Brevard
Had a great stay, sitting on the porches and relaxing, the birds chirping, it was great. Close to everything, it was wonderful. The cabin has so much charm. Would definitely stay again.
Everything was in good condition considering the age of the cabin. The cabin is old, so some things are not perfect. Everything that was crucial to a good stay was in good working order.
The cozy cabin was just what we needed for our small family and dog. Close to Brevard shopping and hiking in Pisgah forest. The host was very responsive and we would certainly stay again.
Cabin exceeded expectations. Perfect location to see Pisgah National Forest, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, and dine/shop in Brevard and Asheville. Kitchen was well-equipped. Bed was comfortable, plenty of towels. Nice features throughout. Separate areas to read and watch TV. Highly recommend. Would definitely love to stay again.
I stayed at the cabin by myself while my husband and son camped in the forest with friends. I was looking for some place small and close to Pisgah. The cabin ended up being perfect for my needs.
Upon arriving we fell in love with this property! It’s a “just right” landing for being in the beautiful Pisgah Forest~ clean, comfy & thoughtful touches throughout! Such a fun area with White Squirrel Festival & Garden Festival all close by~ shopping, food & family visits completed our short stay! Grateful we could bring our loved Luka dog :) thanks!
We enjoyed several quiet, relaxing days at the cabin. The beautiful side porch was a great place to sit and drink coffee. We slept well - the cool night air and the sound of the stream. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking - we enjoyed eating at the outside table. It was a quick drive to Brevard and to DuPont Forest.
We loved our stay in this charming cottage. The location has a secluded feel while still being convenient to shops, restaurants, and sights. The host was responsive and accommodating, and the house was set up with everything we needed. We worried about not having A/C but the fan kept the home cool and comfortable. I would book this place again in a heartbeat!
My family had a wonderful time at this cabin! Check in is very straightforward and Katherine is a very responsive host. The cabin is very charming and has everything you could dream of in the kitchen and common areas. There is even a very cute sitting area with a desk and library by the back door we loved drinking our coffee at. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
This cabin was a peaceful escape from busy life. Its cozy interior and quiet surroundings provided instant relaxation. The comfortable furnishings were perfect for lounging, and the kitchen had everything needed for home-cooked meals. While secluded, it was conveniently located near hiking trails and charming towns. The cabin's serene atmosphere makes it an ideal choice for those seeking tranquility and a break from the ordinary.

I was raised in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, where I earned a degree in the Fine Arts from Brevard College and married my husband after graduating. I have taught art to children for years, and create original artwork like paintings, stain glass, and pressed botanicals. I enjoy hosting friends and family in my home, and now I am pleased to host wonderful guests who come visit our unique town.
Why they chose this property
I love the peace that comes from spending time at the Longview Cabin. It’s a great escape from town, yet still close to everything. The sound of birds, and the water from the springs lull me into a calm state.
What makes this property unique
The Longview Cabin is private, yet close by everything that our area has to offer.
