About this property
Rainforest View 4 bed 3 bath Hot Tub - Generator
Casa Revive is in a quiet neighborhood in the foothills of El Yunque Rain Forest. The property has a back-up generator and water tank to ensure a comfortable stay. Enjoy nature in the covered patio or chill in the hammocks on the veranda. Relax or watch TV in the large cozy living room or cook local recipes together in the well-stocked kitchen. Get a restful sleep in any of the three bedrooms, each with its own AC unit. Strong WIFI signal throughout. Soak in the hot tub after a day out.
In addition to basic amenities, this rental includes beach towels, beach chairs & umbrellas, and a coffee station stocked with Puerto Rican coffee, filters and an assortment of creamers and sweeteners. You will also find an iron & ironing board as well as hair dryers.

You will enter the house through the living room. The living room has 2 comfortable sofas and a chair with ottoman. There are lots of windows letting in light and views to the backyard and the veranda out front. Catch up on Netflix or Sports on the huge 75” TV with Roku. Entertain yourself with the games we have provided or pick a book from the bookshelves.
The kitchen is the heart of the house, with plenty of room to cook together or just hang out on the bench seating around the dining table. We designed the kitchen with a lot of open shelves and storage so it’s easy to find what you need quickly. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances, utensils and cookware as well as dinnerware, glasses (real glass and acrylic) and flatware. There is even a small bar area with bar tools if you get the urge to make a mojito!
The primary bedroom is very spacious with a King size bed, futon and extra seating. Enjoy the AC & flatscreen TV. There is a full ensuite bath and huge walk-in closet with a full-size washer and dryer. There is also a pack-n-play crib available.
The first guest room has a queen size bed and a desk & desk chair. The second guest room has a full-size bed and flatscreen TV. Both rooms also have their own AC for your comfort. There is an extra guest room located off the covered patio behind the kitchen. This room does not connect directly to the house, but it is right next to the bathroom located on the patio. This room has a futon that folds out to a full size bed, and has its own AC unit.
Outside the home:
There is a large, covered veranda that wraps around the front and side of the house. We have lots of seating as well as hammocks that provide a beautiful view of the rain forest. Located off the kitchen is a very large, covered patio area. There is a half bath located under the covered patio, and we have now added a shower and extra vanity as well. The shower features a traditional showerhead, spray wand, and 6 additional nozzles that spray out from the panel. It's perfect to use to rinse off before you get into the spa or just to rinse off after a day at the beach.
Behind the house you will find a large open space filled with Pana (Breadfruit) trees, a Pomarrosa Tree and a lot of other plant life, including a mint garden if you want to make mojitos! You can expect to see various types of lizards and anoles while hanging out here. And it’s possible to see all of the other reptiles, frogs and birds commonly found in the rainforest. You will also see and hear the chickens and roosters that belong to several of our neighbors. There is a family of chickens that spend a lot of time in our yard. We have affectionately named them Efrain and Gloria!
Safety & Security:
Puerto Rico has struggled with problems in the electric grid and water delivery, even before Hurricane Maria. For this reason, we installed a full-size backup generator and water cistern. The generator will turn on automatically in the event of a power outage. It will provide enough power to run everything in the house, but in the event of longer outage you will want to reduce your electric usage to ensure the fuel supply lasts.
The water cistern provides the house with 500 gallons of filtered water even when the main water supply has been interrupted. Like the generator, the pump for the cistern will automatically turn on when needed.
History of the home:
When we purchased this home, it has been abandoned for several years, after being damaged in Hurricane Maria in 2017. We remodeled the house as if it were our forever home. We were able to keep many of the hacienda style windows that adorned the house, and for this reason we chose materials that added to the hacienda style.
Where possible, we tried to reuse materials and we added our own personal and artistic touch to the space. Nathan designed and built the kitchen island, benches in the kitchen, and every bed frame in the house! You will also find artwork designed by Nathan.
The name Casa Revive was derived from the actual renovation of the house as well as our personal feeling of revival that was experienced through the process of renovating and creating new pieces from old materials.
We hope you will find the same sense of revival after staying here!

Other information:
I have been a vacation rental host for several years and will be available to ensure you have a great stay. We do everything in our power to ensure you have a pleasant and uneventful stay. But in the event something does happen, be assured we are available to take care of it. We can also provide plenty of recommendations for things to do, places to visit, and local dining options. We will also be offering experiences to make your stay better.
I am available to answer questions by phone or email and want to ensure you have a pleasant stay. My primary language is English but my Spanish is improving. My partner is Puerto Rican and speaks Spanish and English.
Our neighborhood, Colinas Del Yunque, is a small family oriented area. This area is known for its breath taking views of El Yunque Rain Forest. It is a short drive into the National Park, local rivers for swimming, and much more. Since this is a family oriented neighborhood, please be mindful of noise and street parking especially after dark. This is a perfect home to relax and enjoy nature. But there are a lot of working families here so please be mindful about noise after dark.
The house is about a 40 minute drive from the San Juan Airport. I would recommend renting a car as public transportation and Uber are not always available here. But be assured the roads here are well lit and easy to navigate. We are happy to provide information about getting around and finding local hot spots. We also have an SUV available to rent. Airport pick-up and drop off is included with the car rental!
