Everything was wonderful and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. That kitchen though, it was amazing!! We had our Thanksgiving here a week early like we do every year and we couldn’t have asked for a better location. Thank you so much!
The property had a lot of nice large spaces for our crew of eight to relax and enjoy the surrounding scenery. The hosts were very responsive to our questions and the kitchen was well equipped for our stay. Beds were very comfortable and the fire pit was a great set up. Would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay here. One of the best equipped kitchens we've stayed at. They even had a nice highchair. There's a cool porch swing that was a big hit with our group! I just wish it would have been closer to the beach.
My family and I were looking for a place to unwind and in a quiet place and catch-up. This place was perfect. Secluded, yet close to the park and beach. The hot tub and music was amazing. I wish we had stayed an extra day to use the enormous kitchen. Maybe next time. Highly recommend this place!
The house is very beautiful, the only thing i didn't care for is the swamp behind the house, but that is the only negative!

Oh my gosh this grand house away from home is the perfect getaway place for a large group. The pictures are nice but let me tell you. It didn’t do justice for what you’re expecting when you get to the property. The host was very accommodating and extremely nice. It was the perfect birthday getaway for me and my friends. Will definitely book this again!!

Great space for a large crowd
My group of 7 "mature" women stayed at this home and it was a great amount of space with beds for everyone. The dining table easily accommodated all of us for dinner, and the living room was well-lit and perfect for a night of games. We also enjoyed the hot tub on a cold, but sunny, afternoon. The fire pit area, while we didn't end up using it, is a great addition. The things we didn't love about the home was that while it wasn't dirty, there were definitely ways that the cleanliness could be improved. There were streaks on all the appliances and windows as if they were wiped down with a less than clean rag. The stairs were obviously not vacuumed since the last guests as there was lint and dirt on every stair. The floors on the main level had shoe prints on it as if someone with dirty boots walked there.Another thing to be aware of, the pond behind the house is really more like a swamp, at least in mid-spring. There are lots of fallen trees sitting in it and plenty of algae. As the advertising states, it is wooded and you'll definitely need your bug spray in the warm months. Overall, the space fit our needs and we had a lovely weekend with lots of laughs and great memories made.
Had a big family reunion and stayed here - location was perfect and everyone had a wonderful time.
Hosts were super responsive and friendly - thank you!

About the host
Hosted by Valerie Mossman-Celestin
I (Valerie) am a nonprofit director of Haitian Assets for Peace International (HAPI) and my husband, Jacson, is an RN. We know how precious family and vacation time is! We like being a part of helping others connect family or friends and relax. We enjoy playing a small part in special occasions such as showers, birthdays, and receptions.
Why they chose this property
Hagar Beach Park on Lake Michigan is amazing, especially at sunset! We like the wooded path and the sense of 'getting away' in a serene setting. We love St. Joseph with the fun downtown shops, walking on the bluff over Lake Michigan with the splashpad, carousel, and pizza.
What makes this property unique
Easy walk to the beach. LARGE balconies, including one with a full-size bed swing and lots of deck space with an infinity edge hot tub overlooking the pond. Wetlands pond with ducks and turtles, great night stargazing. Extra long dining table for gatherings, great flow for entertaining. 4000 sq feet to spread out including a youth room with air hockey, separate large tv, etc.
