About this property
Eve’s Place Lakeside Cabin 1
Located just three miles outside of Grand Marais' city center on the ever-so-charming Croftville Road, is Eve’s Place Lakeside Cabins. Cabin 1 is cherished by many, as your views of the lake don't get much better than this. Nestled right along the lakeshore above Lake Superior, Cabin 1 is one of the four unique "tiny house" cottages of the resort, located just steps away from the resort's private access to the shared 200 feet of pebble beach on Lake Superior. Known by locals as the walking road, Croftville Road is a wonderful, quiet road frequented by walkers and bikers. The average speed on the road is under 20mph, as people are here to take in the beauty of this winding, narrow road along the rugged North Shore.
Cabin 1 has one small bedroom with a comfy full bed. There's no room for a closet, but hooks on the wall and a dresser will accommodate your belongings. The cozy front sitting room of Cabin 1 sits right on the water’s edge. You’ll feel as if you're on a boat while relaxing on the double sleeper sofa. If the waves aren't enough for you to listen to, you will also find a Smart TV for your streaming services in the sitting room, plus WIFI throughout the cabin. The bedroom and front room are separated from the other rooms by curtains. Tucked between the bedroom and the front room is the updated bathroom that has a ceramic tile and glass shower with plenty of towels. All the linens and towels are professionally cleaned for each guest. There is a small kitchen with everything you need to make your "cabin meal": refrigerator, small electric cooktop/stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cookware and all the kitchen gadgets you should need for your stay as well as a table with seating for two. There’s a heater in the main room to keep the cabin comfortable on cool evenings. All of the spaces and areas in Cabin 1 are small, but well-planned to meet your needs and each cabin is decorated with a unique arrangement of Eve’s paintings and drawings.
Just outside your front door you can enjoy your time sitting on the small deck while enjoying the waves rolling in, or make a fire outside in your fire ring and marvel at the ever-present views of the Lake. In the evening, build a wood fire and make S’Mores with the provided marshmallow forks. You have your own charcoal kettle grill with grilling tools if you wish to grill a meal. On a clear night there are always uncountable stars and, if you’re lucky, you may witness the amazing Northern Lights.
Just down Croftville Road from Cabin 1 are the wooden steps to the cobblestone and pebble beach exclusively for guests of Eve’s Place. Much of the North Shore of Lake Superior is cliff or ledge rock, with occasional small beaches like at Eve’s Place. Head to the beach to skip flat stones, hunt for elusive agates, or simply sit and watch the waves and clouds. There’s no need for an agenda at the beach.
You can take a short drive into the town of Grand Marias, "America's Coolest Small Town", to enjoy all of the shops and restaurants, or plan a day hike/bike on the never-ending trails nearby. Or simply read a book while taking in the sights and sounds of this majestic lake. This is the ideal location to enjoy all that Grand Marais and the North Shore has to offer. There will be no doubt in your mind why this little cabin consistently receives a 5 star rating on Google. The location and the views from this cabin are nothing but spectacular!
Please note that even though the bedding configuration in this cabin seems as though it could accommodate more than 2 guests, our septic won't :^) Also make sure to note that these cabins were originally built in the 1930's when people were smaller. One upgrade we can't do, is make the spaces bigger. The bathrooms may be tight for you. And if you're over 6'2", you'll have to bend down a bit going through the doorways, and standing in the shower. So please consider this before booking. We don't want you to be disappointed with these tiny cottages due to their size.
Please note that starting in 2026 we will be accepting check-ins and check-outs on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays only. Check out the "Booking Information" tab on our site to see why we have made this change.

About the host
Hosted by Mona Selim

The first two years of owning Eve's Place we continued to use the property management company that had been running the resort for many years. But in 2023 my husband built us a cabin on the back of the resort, I went to a casual position at my Nurse job, and we now live on site while the resort is open May-October and manage the resort ourselves. I had cared for my mom for many years as she struggled with Alzheimer's in her old age, and now I have the joy of caring for these little cabins while passing on Eve's love of this special place. We are thrilled to seeing so many returning guests as they now build their bond with this magical place on Lake Superior.
Why they chose this property
What makes this property unique
But in reality, what makes our property stand out is this majestic lake right out your window. One can't compete with Lake Superior. You can see and hear the waves crashing on the resort's private beach when the lake is active. Or grab a folding chair on the Lake's quiet days and head to our pebble beach to read a book.
