Our stay at the haus was absolutely amazing. It’s in the perfect location for exploring the SHT, parts of the BWCA, and Grand Marais. The haus was clean, cozy, had all the amenities we could need. Perfect stay for people looking to stargaze and explore! We already can’t wait until next time!

Host responded very fast when I needed. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Sauna was also awesome heats up pretty quick and can get hot. Overall great peaceful getaway for a nice relaxing weekend.

The property was lovely and well maintained. The doggy care basket was sweet and thoughtful. The kitchen and mini fridge were convenient as we were traveling with our three year old son. We had a great time and look forward to coming back again!

Didn't realize it was 2 unattached levels but it was fine. Very pretty, nice place, decorated lovely. It was very icy when we were there. But its winter in MN so probably to be expected. Had a nice relaxing weekend.

Relaxing Getaway

The cabin was so great for me, my partner, and our dog. It had very nice living and sleeping spaces with everything you may need for cooking and cleaning essentials. They even had a treat basket for our dog! Little to say, this was a relaxing getaway where you can disconnect and enjoy the north shore.

The only downside was not having a shower and a sink with running water, which made washing dishes and food a bit tricky. But overall, the cabin is cozy and tastefully done, with a nice deck, sauna, and beautiful wilderness all around. A solid 7 stars out of 5 — we had a great stay!

GM Anniversary Trip!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and loved our stay! It felt like we were glamping with the beautiful aesthetic but no running water. The electricity and beautiful design made it a very comfortable stay! We would absolutely return and recommend!

Had a great two day stay for our anniversary. Spoiled to take a wonderful sauna after a day of hiking. This is the second property we’ve tried from this owner. So far have loved them both!

The Golden Girls 2024

Its somewhere I could definitely live. Small, cozy, rustic but modern at the same time. Would need running water, however. But for a weekend get-a-way... it was wonderful! Would def recommend.

Lovely experience!

My boyfriend and I traveled up north for a weekend getaway and this was the perfect cabin for it! It was close to lots of attractions and even though there was a cabin nearby, we had so much privacy with all the trees. The cabin was very clean and welcoming, we loved the sauna! The kitchen was so cute, I loved all the vintage and antique details added inside. I’m not much of a no plumbing person but the outhouse didn’t make it feel like you were in a outhouse at all. I will absolutely stay at another Patagonia cabin again, excellent communication and a friendly inviting experience overall ☺️

It's a really cool spot back in the woods but close to a lot of parks and Grand Marais. The roads are gravel, but pretty well graded. It has good power and lots of cozy additions like throw blankets, nice chairs, a great fire pit, and a really cool upper deck to have breakfast on. We didn't use the grill, but there is one there.The sauna is pretty nice. It's close to the house, but far enough away that you have privacy while sharing it with the other cabin. The sled dogs and wolves howl a lot at night, which is pretty cool, but may spook your dogs or your kids. Our dog was spooked at first, but quickly realized he was totally safe by the fire. The lack of running water and outhouse situation can be a little rough at night when you just need to pee, but the outhouse was pretty clean and easy to walk to, even in the dark. It does smell pretty bad though, so be ready for that when you go in. That's literally the only rough camping part of it, everything else is absolutely beautiful and really peaceful and relaxing. We had a great time and the host were really nice and thoughtful.

This cabin and its relaxing retreat was exactly what we needed. It is beautiful designed, decorated, has all the amenities needed with peace and tranquility elevated living — even with a dry cabin experience. The bedroom is stunning (just like the whole cabin) and the bed was so comfortable and cozy!The sauna was a huge perk we enjoyed—and during our daily sauna amongst the ferns we loved listening to the nearby sled dogs howling for dinner—magical! Being surrounded by the maple tree canopy in a peaceful environment makes us think how amazing a fall color trip would be. We spent a day canoeing and fishing on trout lake, which fishing definitely reflected its name and I highly recommend. We didn’t make it to hiking due to high rainfall but there’s always next time! Host communication was quick and thoughtful, no details to remember were missed. They accepted booking quickly thankfully after we diverted from our yearly boundary waters trip after being called to deploy the next week. We are so grateful for this week together, making restful memories, and look forward to enjoying more adventures with Great Northern Cabins. Thank you!
