Love this property, the view, the house, so peaceful. Hoping to return next year. Host is very responsive. House had little extra things (like sugar packets) that I had forgotten, didn’t feel like I was given the bare minimum. I could tell the host cares about your experience.

A well loved comfortable property right on the water with views. A nice new deck and yard.

A beach bungalow with views and a nice back room with big windows overlooking the sea. Beautiful area with restaurants nearby. Pet friendly is a plus we appreciated. A suggestion would be a bigger lobster pot as a soup kettle doesn’t hold 4 lobsters

Beautiful view

We brought 4 adults and two Shelties to this home and found it to be very comfortable and convenient for our weekend visit. It’s an easy drive to Newport and we enjoyed eating dinner at Anthony’s and breakfast at Sunset Cove nearby. The view in the back was stunning and we were fortunate to take in a beautiful fireworks show while sitting on the back deck. The only negatives were no WiFi service and the sauna didn’t appear to be working. My daughter had a wonderful time using their kayak. The neighbors were very friendly and quiet. We would definitely come again.

You won't be disappointed

We spent a month at Doug and Carols very beautiful bay front rental, it was as described everything you would need, a home away from home. The views of bay from sun room were amazing, magnificent sunrises. We spent most of of time in that area, being fall and sun room facing east on sunny days it was perfect for sitting outside on deck. Great fishing stripers still in bay. The neighbors were very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our time in Portsmouth Ri. Thank you, Doug and Carol. John & Cindy & Captain Morgan our dog.

Even in February

When you get to the neighborhood you see it’s a densely packed maze of homes and may think, as I did, that there’s no way the house will be secluded enough. Then you arrive and step into the yard and are greeted to a 200+ degree unobstructed view of the water. It’s great. The house is a house. It has everything you need and is comfortable. It’s very much someone’s home but you don’t feel like an intruder. But you stay here for one reason: the view. We spent all of our time either on the deck or in the room directly facing the yard. Being February, we just relaxed and enjoyed the ducks (hundreds of buffleheads and greater scaup) and didn’t spend any time on the water. It was a nice weekend.

We chose this home for a cozy girls’ weekend and it did not disappoint! We loved being able to see the gorgeous water and wildlife from the comfort of the couch. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower water pressure was fantastic. We didn’t end up bringing our dogs, but they would have loved the fenced-in yard. You can tell Carol and Doug have put a lot of care and love into their home over many years, and we are grateful to have shared it with them this weekend. Would definitely rent again!!

Wedding

We were invited to a wedding and had never been to Rhode Island so we decided to rent a VRBO for a week to explore the area. The location was great with easy access to restaurants and was in a nice area to walk our dog. The views from the property were great and it was very relaxing to just sit on the porch and stare at the water.

Island Park Gem

My family had a wonderful week in this lovely vacation home. The cozy Cape was exactly as pictured. Two living spaces gave us room to spread out, as did the deck and patio areas outside, which boast a beautiful view of the cove. We spent all our afternoons out in the shade, enjoying the sea breezes. The fully fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs. The neighborhood is quiet and walkable, with a small beach and restaurants a short stroll away. All in all, a great place.

Relaxing Getaway

The deck and back yard overlooking the quiet cove is exactly what we were looking for. No wake boat activity kept the cove quiet. Added bonus in the evening was live music that could be heard, but not too loud, from the Sunset Cove across the water. Our dog enjoyed the fenced in back yard. The house was well stocked, on the small side, but plenty of room for 4 adults and a dog. We didn't spend much time inside other than sleeping. We also did not take advantage of the kayaks, fire pit, sauna and grille that are available along with plenty of seating that overlooks the water. A very pleasant/relaxing environment to enjoy.

Quiet serene location.

We stayed in Portsmouth for a wedding 15 minutes away. It was just as the description was listed and more. It’s a beautiful location and wished we could have enjoyed it longer. We will return. The owners Doug and Carol responded quickly to all our questions. Cute fenced in yard for our pup. He loved it too.

We are a married couple with four grown children, one grandchild so far, and love the blue ocean and nature. Doug has his own business restoring roofs, and Carol is a registered nurse.

Why they chose this property

We love the location and beautiful views. Also having a nice clean ocean to swim, boat, fish, and go clamming in without getting in your car to find and pay for parking is wonderful. It is our happy relaxing place to enjoy and we feel blessed to have been able to purchase it.

What makes this property unique

We do not need to leave here to have fun, except to purchase food and explore nearby scenic funfilled towns like Newport for a change.
