Alpine Villa Condo 21-Perfect for a Family of Four, Walk to Town & MTN Trails

First Bedroom - Queen
Loft - Twin w/ Twin Trundle

This 1-bedroom plus loft/1-bath condo sleeps up to 4 guests and provides comfortable, clean accommodations with basic furnishings for an exceptional value in its 800 square feet of living space. The living room has a 40-inch flat-screen TV, an iPod docking station, and a gas fireplace. The small kitchen is fully equipped with the basics and has seating for four in bar stools at the counter; there is no dining table. Please note, this unit does not have A/C.

The bright and sunny master bedroom is located on the second floor and has a queen bed, a 26-inch flat-screen TV, views to the north, high ceilings, and a sink and vanity with a built-in hairdryer. The bathroom is on the second level and has a tub/shower and a sink. The loft above the master bedroom has a twin bed with a trundle underneath and shares the hallway bathroom. ( more suitable for small children). The front porch has a small table and two chairs for summer outdoor relaxation while enjoying the northern view. Free outdoor parking is available in front of the condo.

Complex Features: Alpine Villa Condominiums are conveniently located near the bike path, just a few blocks from downtown Ketchum, and are within walking distance to the River Run ski lifts on Bald Mountain. The complex has a coin-operated laundry facility. There is a free shuttle that will transport you to ski lifts on Bald Mountain, downtown Ketchum, and the Sun Valley and Elkhorn Resorts.

Please note: No pets allowed. This unit is professionally managed, and all check-ins are at the Alpine Lodging Office, conveniently located on South Main Street in Ketchum. Self-check-in is not available at the property. We strive to make check-in as quick and easy as possible so you can start enjoying your vacation! Reservations are unit-specific. We do everything possible to keep your reservation in the same property you’ve reserved. If the property has a maintenance emergency, we will contact you with the option to move your reservation to a property of equal or greater value, at no additional cost.

The decor is dated, and the lack of AC is a real drawback in the summer, particularly since there are no blinds in the loft area to block out the afternoon sun. Seating is very limited...once couch and four bar stools. No separation between the loft and main bedroom, so no privacy.

Alpine Villa Ketchum

This was a fine location. Perhaps if one was skiing and walking to the gondola it would be great. Farther from downtown than I imagined. Very simple place. Wonder why a Queen and not a King sized bed; plenty of room in the bedroom. Shower pressure was awesome, but the shower head is low and there is enough hot water for 2 people to take showers back-to-back. There was a funky smell most of the time which made it hard to sit downstairs without keeping the front door open. Not sure, but perhaps came from an adjacent unit. Expensive host and service fees, especially given that we are required to remove trash and the space is so simple, no frills.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit was in a great location. We felt very safe. The condo on a whole was very dated, not just the decor. For example all of the outlets on the lower level were "loose", we had to prop up things to hold our chargers to stay plugged in. There was no toe kick under the kitchen cabinets, so it was all exposed underneath. (I believe the pieces were leaned up against the fireplace??) We had a problem with the TV and the sink in bathroom wouldn't drain. We reported both and they came to fix in a timely matter. Unfortunately we did not realize until the 3rd day that the shower or bath did not work at all. By that time it was the weekend and we were leaving the next day. I would not stay in this particular unit again.

There is no AC and no blinds on the upper story skylight to block out the afternoon sun, so it gets insufferably hot on the upper two levels in the afternoon. It’s not really suitable for more than two people unless you really don’t care about privacy...the loft looks directly down on the only real bedroom, which also doesn’t have a door between it and the hallway where the only bathroom is. The decor is dated and the only real seating is a single couch and four bar stools at the kitchen counter.

Great locale needs some updates

Place was good. Can walk to slopes and bus line right outside. Spilled a soda on the sheets and had no extras. Would have been nice. Really could use an upgrade to smart TVs or a Roku. I know we’re not there to watch tv, but would have been nice to watch a movie after a day on the slopes.
