This fabulous one bedroom apartment is located in Union City, New Jersey. IT IS APPROX. 10 MINUTES AWAY FROM MIDTOWN MANHATTAN. It is right across the Lincoln Tunnel and the Hudson River. 3.26 MILES AWAY FROM PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERMINAL AND TIMES SQUARE AREA. IT IS EASIER AND FASTER TO COMMUTE TO MIDTOWN MANHATTAN FROM OUR LOCATION THAN SOME PLACES IN NEW YORK LIKE THE BRONX, BROOKLYN AND QUEENS.
- Walking distance to restaurants, supermarkets, banks, shops, groceries, bakeries, etc.

TRANSPORTATION
- It is 10 minutes away from Port Authority Bus Terminal / Times Square area
- Bus stop is almost at your door step
- Accessibility to pretty much every bus going into Manhattan
- EASIEST AND FASTEST WAY TO GO NEW YORK IS BY SHUTTLE BUSES AS THEY RUN 24 HRS. ($3.00)
- Going into to Manhattan, you can take any shuttle bus

Love this apartment

My daughter and I have stayed at Ruth’s apartment quite a few times now. It’s clean. It’s in a great location and it’s easy to get into the city. I feel very safe staying there with my teenage daughter. We explored more of Union City on our recent trip and found that we really liked it there. Ruth is always so accommodating and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this apartment!!

Labor Day Stay

Reserved this cute little apartment for our two night stay. The owner was available anytime we needed her but our stay went without a hitch. Used Uber to get into the city which can get pricey but we budgeted for that. Overall we had a great stay and would come back!

The place was pristine, communication with the owner was fluid the few times we needed help with something, all appliances worked perfectly, location was very convenient. Buses took us to 42nd street in less than 20 min everyday, these busses are cool and comfortable and pass constantly (less than 5 min wait). Beds were clean and comfortable. Lots of clean towels, WiFi worked well. All perfect !!! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

Amazing!!!!!!

This was my second time at one of Ruth and Henry’s properties. This was perfect and the most convenient location to the city. The bus stops almost right outside the door and in 10 mins at the Port Authority minutes to Times Square. My son locked me out and they came in minutes in the middle of the night and Henry climbed the fire escape to knock on my soms window. He had fallen asleep when I went to get food. This couple they are more than Hosts. They truly care about their renters and will do anything to make your visit comfortable and relaxing. I will be back again to rent this property!!!!

This property was just as expected. It is small, but worth the price. The neighborhood felt safe, and the little shops and pizza place nearby were good. The travel into the City was so easy and very quick even during the busy rush hour times.

Trip to NYC

Ruth was very helpful and provided all the information needed for check in well in advance of our arrival. She promptly answered any questions we had and provided the necessary parking pass needed to park on the street. Ingrid met us at the apartment upon arrival and had everything ready to go when we checked in. the apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Transportation to NYC was just down the street and was about a 15 minute bus ride to the city. We enjoyed our stay there and would recommend Ruth as a host to anyone traveling to the NYC area. This was our first time staying at a VRBO and Ruth was very accommodating. We would stay there again when heading to NYC.

Great Location!!

The apartment was cute and had everything we would need for our 3 night stay. The bed was super comfortable. Ruth is awesome! Very easy to communicate with. She responded to texts and calls almost immediately. I was nervous about parking and getting around that area, but she provided great detail that eased all my anxiety. It was the easiest in and out of NYC I’ve ever experienced. There are shuttle busses that pick you up right outside the apartment and drive you right into NYC. The busses come so frequently that we never even ended up waiting for one and it was also only $3.25 each way. We would definitely stay here again!

A wonderful place to stay if you are looking to save money on a trip to NYC

If you are looking for a simple apartment with super easy access to NYC at an affordable price, this is the place. Apartment is right on the line of a private bus service that provides constant service to and from Times Square. Shortest ride was 12 minutes and longest was 30 minutes. We never had to wait more than 3 minutes to be picked up. Fare is $3.25. Easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and a grocery store. Apartment isn’t luxurious, but it is priced well and we pretty much only slept there, so it was perfect for us. Our hostess was very responsive and gave us great tips. Hair dryer wasn’t working on day 1 and Ruth had a new one waiting for us when we got back from the city that night. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice rest from NYC touring at a stone's throw FROM the big city.

In and out of Manhattan was very convenient. The apartment was perfect for a family of 4 (2 teen-agers). We were able to cook a couple of times to save on the NYC prices. Ruth was great and very accommodating. She was on top of her game. One night there was a storm and she knew the internet was down even before us and fixed by the time we got back from Manhattan. Definitely will stay here again for more NYC sightseeing.

Perfect Vacation Rental and Easy Transportation

This was a perfect place to stay. Lots of space and clean. I was heading over to Manhattan each day and the shuttle service was one of the easiest transit systems I have ever used. I missed it on the next part of my trip. Ruth was easy to communicate with and very helpful in answering all my questions. I will defiantly stay here again and highly recommend

Comments for factors aside from the physical unit . . . Host: Respectful & friendly Communication: Excellent Location to Times Square: Excellent Information Provided for local transit/amenities: Excellent Locations to Amenities/Restaurants/Transit: Excellent Comments for Physical Unit at time of our rental . . . Supplies: Fair. Unlike the photos, there are only 4 hangers in entire unit - a challenge for travelers with coats & dress clothes. On main bed there is 1 sheet & a thin decorative coverlet with no blankets or duvet. 2 modest throws were provided for sofabed. Cleanliness: Overall first impression is one of tidiness. However, cleaning company's attention to detail is poor. The dish sponge left for our use was pre-used, sopping, had food debris on it and sitting in a sponge holder with old slime. Makeup powder left in the corner of bathroom floor. Upon arrival, the microwave cover in the microwave had food and human hair remaining and had not been cleaned. Basic plates and bowls in kitchen were not thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. The cleaning company forgot to ensure a parking pass was left. Maintenance: Agree with previous reviews for this listing . . . the unit DOES need TLC. The kitchen table is very wobbly (noted in previous reviews) & one would not want to lean on it. The bed in the chair is unstable. All fabric furniture in this living room is heavily soiled and visibly dirty at the time of renting this unit. The bedroom floor is no longer hardwood but completely covered with a VERY VERY old and beaten area rug. Ventilation fan in bathroom does not turn on leaving both the bathroom and entire unit feeling damp and humid until AC corrects. There was a heavy leak/drip coming out of tub faucet that never stopped. Comfort: There is no notable daylight in the living room (windows butt up against concrete wall) & there are no windows in kitchen. Because there is a small old ceiling light in the spacious living room, it is not well-lit if this is important to you. The one lamp is weak and does not turn on to its high setting. These are important factors for a zero daylight living area. Every renter has to pick what's important to them. If it's location, price & friendly host... excellent unit. If it is cleanliness, lighting , well-maintained/clean furniture, & general home maintenance/updates, this unit has the above-noted deficiencies. These are easily corrected &, if done, comfort will go up!

Love the apartment

This is our 4th stay in this apartment. I think that says it all. The place has always been clean and easy to get to. Public transportation is super easy. There are many stores you might need within walking distance. Myself and my teen daughter have stayed and we alway feel safe. I hope Ruth keeps renting apartments because we don’t want to stay anywhere else. Thanks again!!

Ruth was a great host. The apartment was very clean. It is in a great location to catch the bus to New York. Walking distance to anything you would need. Plenty of space for a family of 4. If I ever go back to New York/New Jersey I will definitely stay here again.

Cute little place

Our family of 5 just got back from our vacation in New York. After reading all the reviews of different areas to stay in, we decided to stay out in New Jersey where is was closer to Newark airport. We saw that Ruth offered pick up service from the airport so decided to use that since we didn't know our way around yet. The driver was prompt and very friendly. The apartment was cute and clean and had everything we needed. Ruth stopped by and showed us how to navigate around using the public transportation. One best advice that she could give us was to use the white private shuttle buses to get into New York and not use the public buses. These white buses drive through our street constantly. If they see you walking, the honk and if they are going where you need to go, you just hop on and go. She also showed us how to use the subway system which is a must...don't drive in New York!! The apartment is in a highly populated Hispanic community so there are tons of good Hispanic food and all walking distance. Our first night we at amazing Peruvian food and on our last day we ate delicious Columbian food before we headed to the airport. Did I mention that there is A/C in the unit? There is A/C! This is a must if you visit during the summer months. We totally stay here again...but we will need to stay longer 5 nights and 4 days is not enough to see all of New York, we didn't even get to touch New Jersey.

A very convenient location to New York City

The apartment is located a few steps away from the bus stop. It has a great kitchen, is clean and quiet with a great bed. We felt safe. Ruth has a shuttle service that picked us up at the airport, transported us to the apartment and took our luggage up the stairs. Wow.

This little place is very convenient for getting to NYC as the little buses run all the time...the apartment has everything needed but is not fancy...the living area has no daylight as the buildings are very close together but the bedroom and dressing closet have lots of light and are bright in the morning...as you will be so busy exploring the big city you will be glad to have a clean place with a comfy bed to come back to...the area around the apartment is very Latino which we enjoyed..you can walk to the Main Street and enjoy some Peruvian or Columbian food as well as enjoy the culture...Ruth was very helpful with transportation back and forth from airport and sends all the info you need to really get around...loved NYC!
