If you are looking for a great retreat at a great price, we are the place for you!

This mountain cabin is a great place to get away from it all. If you are looking for granite and stainless steel, we're probably not your best choice. But if you want comfy, airy, light, in a true Truckee cabin, we think you'll love it. The cabin has 20 foot high ceilings, a fully stocked kitchen, a wood stove, natural wood throughout, and a large yard full of aspens that opens up to a horse pasture. HDTV and wireless internet access.

Near skiing, Lake Tahoe, downtown Truckee, Reno, yet not in all the bustle of tourists.

LIVING ROOM
20 foot high ceiling, hardwood floor, wood stove, light and airy.

KITCHEN
Fully stocked with pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils, etc. Fridge and microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster oven. Everything you need to make some great meals.

UPSTAIRS BEDROOM #1
Upstairs, large and carpeted, queen bed, dresser, walk-in closet. Balcony looks out onto large back yard and horse pasture.

DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM #2
Queen bed, dresser and lamps, looks out onto back yard.

BEDROOM #3 and BEDROOM #4
Green Room has a full bed with stairs leading to a twin above it. The Blue Room has a queen bed. Both rooms are in the converted garage.

Washer and dryer and plenty of room to store your skis, kayaks, and other outdoor equipment.

Long thin room with slanted ceilings. Great for a kids' sleepover.

We are in the residential Glenshire neighborhood. There are hiking trails that start just across the street. The Truckee River and Boca Lake are also right nearby.

NEARBY: Northstar is 12 miles away. Squaw is 15, Alpine 16, Sugar Bowl 18. Nearest casino is 10 miles, Lake Tahoe 18, and Reno 25.

Everything was great! Big cabin but not too big and everyone was able to sleep well in their beds. Kitchen was easily accessible and I enjoyed the little island too. Deck out front was great for hanging out and overall a 10/10 experience. Thank you!

Holiday Stay in Truckee

The home was comfortable and roomy. The fireplace was cozy. It was nice being close to my kids, who also live in the Glenshire neighborhood.

Very cozy and comfortable stay

We had a wonderful time in Truckee. The house fit our family of 9 very comfortably and Mike was very generous with allowing our dogs. The house was equipped with towels and blankets. Shores and restaurants are about 15-30min drive away. Neighborhood was peaceful. Highly recommend for a large group.

Truckee stay

The check in was easy. WiFi worked well. This location allows one to drive to Reno or Donner Lake/downtown Truckee easily. It is a quiet neighborhood. The cabin itself had some issues. There were mouse droppings in the broiler part of the stove and in all the drawers adjacent to the stove. I did contact the host who was very communicative and sympathetic and offered a 100 refund. He said that he contacted pest control so this may not be an issue in the future. Cleanliness of the cabin including the furniture was lacking. In general, it is quite outdated and worn. The host was quick to respond to my concerns. The front deck was nice and we really liked sitting out in the morning.

I love this cabin it was our second time coming to it

Everything was easy from booking to check-in/out. The cabin is a cute place with plenty of room. We have family in Glenshire, love to ski and fish +, and this place was the perfect location for all of it. We will definitely stay again and will tell friends and fam to as well.

Rustic yet awesome

Location is wonderful, near Truckee River and hiking trails. Lovely front deck and backyard fenced. Truckee in the summer and fall time is the best.

Beautiful Mountain Cabin in Truckee

We really loved our 2 night stay at this cabin. It is large, spacious bright and clean. There is a nice balcony in front of the house with charcoal barbeque. Wireless internet access and a nice big TV - my son was happy about that. There is also a nice lake close by. It is in a nice quite neighborhood and we really enjoyed our stay.

No frills but fun cabin!

Great location. Our intent was to be with family and it was perfect….close and easy access to many attractions. A few things could have been fixed, ceiling fan and outside access to the backyard, but minimal in the whole scheme of things. We had a wonderful five nights! Thank you!

Very pet friendly spot the backyard is fully enclosed and there's a doggie gate to block them off in a warm area for during family meals. Plenty of firewood was left to have for our stay. Easy kitchen to manuvour with plenty of pots and pans for various dishes. Owner was very easy to get in touch with and made this booking for 8 a breeze

A lovely place for a big group

My husband, son and I drove up from San Francisco and stayed in this cabin for three days with other family visiting from the East Coast. It was perfect for our needs- the rooms were spacious, comfortable and well-furnished; the living room had a cozy fireplace and we liked that the kitchen was entirely open such that those who were cooking could still socialize with those who were lounging; there was a fenced-in back yard and swing that our toddler enjoyed thoroughly; and the location was out of the fray but still only a quick drive away from the supermarkets, restaurants and such in Truckee. I would definitely recommend this cabin as a great place to stay in Tahoe.

Very easy to get to.

A nice place overall. We did have to bring some towels as their was not enough for all of us. We also bought dishwasher pods as there were very few provided. The beds were all very noisy, we did laugh about that. We did really enjoy the place and it fit our family needs. We were a family of 9. Also it was nice to have a fenced yard as we did bring our dog.

Christmas Family Get Together

Loved the neighborhood. Lots of room for family. Loved the wood stove. Pet friendly. Things that can be improved..........down stair bathroom shower head needs to be replaced, more towels, kitchen gadgets for those that cook, more toilet paper, garbage and ash cans needed to be emptied, ice flow at back door needs to be cleared, range needs to be replaced, sponges and cleaning and laundry supplies needed. Otherwise a wonderful Holiday getaway that our family needed. Eat

Disappointing vacation with filthy home ants

The home does not look anything like in the pictures. The home was not ready when we arrived, and after contacting the owner, the cleaning company was done in 40 minutes, and left the towels in the washer and dryer for us to fold and put away. Let me begin with the outside. The property is unkept with the grass and weeds growing through the steps and deck in the front. The backyard is worse with grass taller than our small dog (malti-poo). There are even weeds coming up through the cracks in the driveway. The deck is literally falling apart. The railing for the steps is very loose, the paint is peeling and all wood on the deck, home, and door is rotting. Once you get into the house, there are carpenter ants all over the home, but primarily upstairs. So bad that the master is not even useable. You can hear them in the walls, see them crawling on the floors and walls, and see wood piles they have left behind which build up throughout your stay. He indicated he "treated" the home but only after this was brought up to him after we had already paid and driven 11 hours to the house. There are cobwebs and bugs throughout the house, and in the bunk bed room, they are above the bed so my daughter didn't want to sleep in this room either for fear the spiders would fall on top of her. The sink was so clogged in the bathroom on the main floor that you could barely brush your teeth without the sink filling up, so my husband had to de-clog it. There was a cat inside when we arrived initially, although the owner indicated it was not his, and after the cleaners left there was no sign of it other than outside around the property. There is a doggy door that could have been left open, because there was cat hair on the pillows in the room next to the bunk bed room. My oldest daughter slept here the first two nights, but had to fly home early due to her cat allergy. There is a room that is referred to as a game room for sleepovers. This is basically a hallway containing a bookshelf and has exposed electrical wires and writing on the walls?? He asks that you take off your shoes before going on the carpet, but it is all stained with the stairs being the worst. Most of the lights only partially work, even after changing the bulbs. There were sheets over the windows, in some places, and all the windows were filthy inside and out. He asked that you only use a damp cloth on the table, but it is all scratched and stained. Had we known we never would have stayed! ☹👎👎👎

The cabin was rustic and did have its charm, but also had a lot of dust and cobwebs. Opening the windows at night, we discovered that almost none of them had screens.The downstairs bathroom was missing bar soap in the shower, which we purchased and left for the next guests.When we decided to watch TV on our last night, we were unable to locate a remote. There was only one DVD remote, so we streamed instead on our laptop. We would have called, but there was only a few hours left in our stay.The five of us did enjoy beautiful weather, and rented bikes, hiked and enjoyed Donner Lake during our stay. I hope the property is improved a bit so that guests can feel more accommodated and less like an afterthought.

Great Thanksgiving

We really enjoyed the ambience of the house. Considering we had Thanksgiving cooking, we were very pleased with all the cooking pots, pans, etc. We had 3 small dogs who loved romping in the remains of the snow in the fenced back yard. We had a great time eating, drinking & playing games!

I am a newly retired teacher who loves to ski, raft, and hike, so North Lake Tahoe is perfect.

Why they chose this property

Truckee is just excellent, a great mountain town. The cabin is near superb skiing (Northstar, Squaw, Alpine, and Sugar Bowl are all about 20 minutes away), Lake Tahoe is beautiful, the Truckee River is a mile away, Lake Boca is two miles away, and Reno is only about 25 miles. Plus we just love the cabin itself.

What makes this property unique

We love the warm days and cool nights here. The cabin is near enough to all the beauty of the area, but not in the heart of the tourist area, so we feel like we truly can get away from it all and relax.
