Great, rustic cabin with an amazing view. Very cute place and hope to stay there again. And the owner was very responsive to our questions and recommended a great French bakery for breakfast/lunch. Loved it!
This was a great place for our early spring stay on the Cape. Everything was an easy drive from this location, and the cottage was cozy, clean, and well-appointed. We had a wonderful time during our visit; thanks for sharing Cove Cottage with us.

The view was spectacular. The cabin not so much. A little musty and dirty. The furniture was not that comfortable. I didn't realize how close to Route 6 the cabin was. I expected more for the price.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and very comfortable. Loved having coffee on the deck each morning. Morning and evening views were magnificent.
this is a great small getaway cottage. Everything you need for Cape vacation. Their kayaks are a nice extra. So many Cape beeches close by (and an incredible bakery a short walk).
We've rented all sorts of properties in Wellfleet over the years, and this one is among the most attractive. The kayaks are very good to have, but you can use them only with high tide.

Not as clean as I would have wished perhaps because it was after the summer season. Had to buy a new shower liner as the one provided was black with mold and mildew. Cheese or peanut butter crusted in upstairs rattan bedside table. Bathroom extremely tiny. Not very private if that's an issue. On the plus side the beds were extremely comfortable. Plenty of lights, air conditioners in both bedrooms but no cemtral heat - only space heaters. Fortunately the weather was quite comfortable for October but our first night there was very chilly. The cottage was fine for 2 people but too small for any more. The owner was responsive and kind.

This is a nice place to stay, but it lacks the privacy that I thought it would have. The view is beautiful, but as far as kayaking, don't bother. The cove is only good at high tide and there isn't decent place to launch unless you don't mind walking through muck. The bedroom upstairs is a bit cramped. If you are 5'7" or more, you'll have a hard time moving about. Overall, it is a nice place. We have rented on the Cape and Vineyard for over 30 years and for the price paid you expect a more privavcy and seclusion as was mentioned in the description.
Lovely little hidden gem. Rustic cottage with everything needed. Many other cottages around, but you really don’t even know they’re there because you have a beautiful view of the marsh from Lovely deck. Again.
The cottage was very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. lovely view overlooking the cove. Enjoyed a glass of wine in the Adirondacks chair in the late afternoon and before dinner. Really loved the outdoor shower. The host was very responsive to my questions.
Had a wonderful time. Love the covered deck for morning coffee and afternoon relaxing. The outdoor shower is a real plus since the indoor one is so “cozy.” The new sofa is super comfy. Made us realize we get along just fine in smaller accommodations than our house!
Cottage was clean, kitchen was well stocked. The essentials were reliable: great water pressure for shower, kitchen, wi-fi worked well. Check in/out was easy. Nice friendly and helpful neighbors - some are renters, others own their condo in this little neighborhood. The listing and description were accurate: you get what you see. Great location to get to Wellfleet Center, Marconi Beach, short hikes.
We loved our time here at this clean and cozy Cape Cod getaway. Beautiful views and a friendly and very helpful host. I brought my 86 year old Dad with me and he had a great time too! The path down to the water was a little too treacherous for him ( no actual stairs or railing) but he loved sitting on the porch and looking out. I would definitely return. If you want what seems like an authentic Cape Cod cottage, come here- it’s great!
The location of this quaint cottage nestled back amongst a cluster of other cottages couldn’t be beat. The view of the cove was a bonus, peaceful and relaxing. If it’s absolute privacy you seek this isn’t your place, as others enjoy the view and access to water directly on this property. Loved the outdoor shower. There is a large open space upstairs to allow a view of the cove, but may not be best for small children. Any issues with cleanliness and issues with listed amenities were addressed by the owner. Minor updates would make this cottage even more charming, and a thorough cleaning. Could use some TLC for sure.
It's a pleasant house, convenient to Route 6. Had everything we needed. Note that the cove is NOT swimmable; deep, sticky mud. The kayaks must be dragged down and then up a steep hill through brush. The only thing that bothered us was about trash disposal. The dumpster is very difficult to open and close, and there was no way to recycle bottles and cans; we were told to just throw them away. (We ended up driving to the National Seashore for its recycling bins.) Otherwise, a nice place with beautiful views of the cove. A huge tom turkey roosted at night in a tree near the house!

Should have been better.
Uncontrollable mice issue, even though the property interior was to start, after one night, we knew we were no alone. Mice droppings everywhere, including food preparation areas. Obviously, this is an issue with the property and the owner was aware of it, as he has made attempts to control the issue, electronically, though with no success. We even bought mechanical traps ourselves during week, with no success.
What’s the story on the colored water(brown)? Saw multiple used water filters lying on the ground. We have stayed in multiple properties in Wellsfleet and not had this issue previously?
We had a good week, but feel the property owner is not telling it like it really is.

Good two people
Argh, I hate leaving negative reviews... I really do.
We are a family of 4, mom, dad, 3 year old and 8 month old. It became frustrating to logistically live in the space while kids napped. We tried every which way! I should have known better, but we took a chance last minute and the space was simply too small for us. The top floor bedroom is a loft like space, small with slanted ceilings that is open to the living area below. There is a bedroom downstairs with two twin beds, one of which was broken and if you sat on the edge it flipped over. Be careful! All of the beds were uncomfortable.
We were not able to drop in kayaks in marsh as the water was always too low.
There were plenty of dishes, glassware, etc, but after your first meal the ants really came out in droves. The water had a certain smell and was brown which concerned me. We never drank it but I didn't even cook with it. The house was extremely dusty and we all couldn't stop sneezing from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. I placed some shopping bags on a higher surface and a pile of dust came crashing down. There are also many spiders, prepare to get bit a couple of times. (I obviously understand this is not the owners fault!) The house needs a little love, and at this price point we probably won't return but kick in a little more for a larger, more updated space when we return to Wellfleet next year. It's fine for two people in my opinion. The cottage to the left of this place appeared much better taken care of and at the same price point.
The location was fine (if maybe a little close to 6, are able to hear the traffic), you are right near the rail trail and many beaches and town center after a short drive. Newcombe Hollow, Duck Harbor, Powers landing and Gull Pond were the ones we visited on this visit to Wellfleet.
Sorry for the negative-ish review (but if you are like me, these are the things I wish i'd known before we spent the money) :(

Donna, we are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay, although we are surprised with many of your comments. We love our home and sharing it with guests. I wish you had reached out to us during your stay, so we could have made your time at the Cottage more enjoyable. Over the course of five years and hundreds of guests, we have only received compliments on the house, its cleanliness, the setting, and the vacations it has provided...
To future guests, we can assure you a great stay. Our water is most certainly clean. As part of a coastal conservation area our drinking water is regularly assessed and exceeds drinking water standards. And, yes, the waterfront is great and the kayaks are 100% usable/amazing, but as tidal bay, water levels do change (every 6 hours!)--Tips for enjoying a paddle are on the fridge! We are here to help you and happy to answer any questions you might have about our home.
This is a cute, well-furnished summer cottage with a spectacular view of Drummer's Cove. Kayak access at high tide. I enjoyed my stay. A few things might make it even more great such as a more efficient A/C system, and some ant control.
Our time at the cottage was picture perfect. We enjoyed the birds and waterfront and convenience to Wellfleet's harbor and delicious dining. Thanks for a quiet, clean and charming stay.
We loved the deck and ate our meals out there. Close to town beaches and natl. Seashore. Cabin was comfortable and adorable. Beautiful view of the bay.
