About this property

You will love our location and will return for our hospitality!

After the success of A Breezy Cottage, we set our sails on The Life of Reilly! The property was purchased in September, 2013 and it is ready to be enjoyed! A wonderful, nautically appointed cottage two houses away from our other rental and a very short walk to the charming beaches of Rockport, MA. It comfortably sleeps up to 7 people including a a queen sized master bed, a full size bed, two single futons in the loft as well as a pull out sofa in the living room. An airy and sunny cottage located on a quiet cul de sac just outside of town, this home is a peaceful retreat while being so close to the beaches and town. The yard is open for games, outside cooking and dining or just relaxing. In its prime location, guests are a short walking distance to scenic downtown Rockport. Rockport's main attraction, Bearskin Neck, is filled with restaurants, art galleries, tourist shops and much more. Guests can find activities such as kayaking to the Twin Lighthouses to sharing a stuffed clam from Roy Moore Lobster Co. The Shalin Liu Performance Center is the newest addition to our quaint town and brings in world renowned musical artists.


Summer 2014 will be the first season for The Life of Reilly and we are very excited to meet new friends and share our adorable beach cottage! Be some of our first guests and we are sure you will make this vacation home your new summer tradition!

Great stay close to all the action!

The location is just off the main beach road and just a quick 10 minute walk into Bearskin Neck. We appreciated Elizabeth's generous hospitality and the well-appointed home seems to have everything we could want for our short stay!

Short off-season stay for fishing

Excellent cottage near beach

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is perfect for two people and could certainly work for two couples. The location is perfect - just steps away from one beach and a short walk from downtown Rockport. The host was great - very responsive!

Our New Favorite Place To Stay!

The cottage was perfect for our family, and the host was very accommodating and helpful. We loved that the cottage was on a quiet side street, away from traffic, yet within walking distance of the busy downtown area. The patio/deck area was ideal for quiet morning coffees and evening family dinners. We will definitely return!

Location, Location, Location

You couldn't ask for a better location for a stay in Rockport! Although not on the water, it is just up the road from Back Beach, a short walk to Front Beach and Bear Skin Neck and centrally located to get to Gloucester, Ipswitch, and other coastal locations. The property was very clean and well stocked. Perfect for our vacation!!

The property owner was very welcoming The house was perfectly located for what we wanted to do and see. Very cozy and loved the uniqueness of it. The only drawback was the listing said two bathrooms There was only one. There was an outdoor shower.

November Stay

Stayed 2 nights in early November and lucked out on fantastic weather. The home is just as described and a short block to Back Beach. Walking distance to Rockport shops and Front Beach. Hosts are very friendly and communicative. Definitely recommend and would stay again next time in the area.

Perfect Location

Great location! Easy access to Rockport, train to Salem, road trip around Cape Ann and only 1.5 hours to Maine for lobster. The house is an easy walk to the beach and Bear Skin Neck. Maybe 2 minutes to Back Beach and 15 minutes all the way to end past My Place restaurant. The one bathroom was oddly laid out and the shower is small. Would have been nice to have a TV in the dinning room. And the coffee pot was a little fancy for me, no instruction so no coffee. Brothers Brew is maybe 7 minute walk and have all the coffee and donuts you need. Over all; the owner was great, greeted us upon arrival. Wealth of information about the area but gave us room to explore. I don't think you will beat the value/location.

Fun getaway!

It was just myself and my three school aged children 12 and under. We had such a fun time in the Rockport/ Gloucester area this summer. The house was super cute and perfect for me and mine. With such close and convenient proximity to all our destinations: bearskin shops, wingearsheek beach, Hammond castle, and Cape Ann whale watch we were able to get to everything on our to do list and still have time for relaxation! Loved the Reilly life experience 😁

Rockport July vacation

My sister, brother in law, my husband and I had a delightful vacation at the Life of Reilly! The location was ideal! Close to stores, museums, beaches-even walking distance! We loved the kitchenette, living room & had plenty of room in our bedrooms! What we liked the most was the picnic table on the deck where we all talked into the night! Highly recommend this location!

Happy with our stay!

The house was perfect for us! We really enjoyed our stay here. Nice, clean, and overall quite area. Very close walk to the beach and the ocean view from down the street is beautiful. Fun Visit to Rockport

The house is as described, and is such a sweet property. Having two separate living spaces is nice if you have kiddos along. Walking distance to many of the fun Rockport attractions made this a great place for us to stay. We also appreciated the thoughtfulness of the owner who left a graduation surprise for us, so incredibly sweet. We would love to come stay again sometime soon. Perfect getaway

This was the perfect place to spend a few days near the ocean. The view of the ocean from the house was so nice and the short walk allowed us to visit it frequently. Very close to the center of Rockport where we enjoyed leisurely strolling, shopping and dining. We mostly avoid public dining due to Covid, and the kitchen in the home was perfect for preparing meals and eating in. The main living room is warm and inviting and was roomy for some more family to join us for the afternoon for conversation and board games. The two bedrooms were lovely and the beds were comfortable. We needed three separate sleeping spaces and words of advice for those planning to stay here: the loft is awesome, but the beds are best for young people. The mattresses were not suitable for my 200lbs. But the couch was a comfortable alternative for one person. And the owners were so friendly, they really made the experience perfect. I highly recommend it.
