Remodeled Family Friendly Beach House with Vaulted Ceilings

IT'S A ONE MINUTE WALK TO THE BEACH from this homey loft house. Listen to the ocean as you sip your wine from the deck. Fully stocked remodeled granite/gas kitchen with views of the water to enjoy while you cook. Wi-Fi/50 inch smart TV with sound bar and XBox One, streaming Netflix/Amazon Prime, listening to Pandora or cds, watching DVDs, and of course playing games.

Quiet and calming atmosphere, on a lot filled with native plants, trees and wildlife. Private and peaceful. Double sinks in upstairs bathroom. Large closets. Ample computer workspace. Bunkbeds and two twin beds upstairs in north loft area; sofa with a pullout double bed in the south loft viewing area.

GLENEDEN BEACH AMENITIES:
Pristine Gleneden Beach offers a variety of activities from surfing, kite flying, whale watching, fishing and clamming.. Hike along the sandy beach for miles and enjoy the unique beauty that only the Oregon Coast can provide. Wake up to the relaxing sound of ocean waves. There are varieties of fine restaurants, the closest is within walking distance - the fabulous SIDE DOOR CAFE just blocks away. Blake's Nursery on Gleneden Beach Loop has great plants plus a large koi pond kids love to visit. Beachcrest Brewing in the Salishan Shops a mile north has a welcoming atmosphere, with their own beer and pizza.
The famed Salishan Golf Resort is opposite the shops, waiting for you to play a few rounds and enjoy the club's restaurant afterward. There is live entertainment on the weekends in resort's Attic Lounge.

LINCOLN CITY AMENITIES:
The quick drive to bustling Lincoln City features ever changing vistas of Siletz Bay with a Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge to visit; an unspoiled link between these two vacation areas. Downtown Lincoln City features Outlet Mall in the middle of town, and Chinook Winds Casino at the north end of town, with their calendar of national headlining acts. There’s several grocery stores in town, plus Trillium Natural Foods by the Outlet Mall. Chester's Market for groceries 2 miles south of us.

Buy your fresh fish at Barnacle Bill’s walk-up seafood market for grilling! At the end of the day, you'll be happy to make your way back to the comforts of your spacious house on the beach.

THE OREGON COAST is a lovely combination of sun and fog between April and October.... Picturesque, craggy cliffs open up to sandy beaches... If you appreciate sunny days on the beach and chilly nights before a fire, you'll understand the romance this part of the world offers it's visitors during the spring/summer season. Winter storm watchers? This snug and cozy perch is the perfect place to observe incoming storms. Christmas visitors will enjoy the well appointed kitchen with full sized gas oven, perfect for those holiday meals.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Take out the rubbish
Lock the doors
Do not overload dishwasher. Start a load of towels in the washer. Leave used sheets on mattress in a pile.
If furniture was moved put it back. If you took deck chairs from the garage, please return. (Put cooled grill in garage). If deck table cover was removed, clip it back so wind won't catch it.
Be sure windows are latched and set thermostat at 55°. Leave key in key safe outside, giving a final spin on dial and re-close the shutter. Pet owners - check yard for any pet refuse.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No deep fat frying of anything, seafood or otherwise or there will be an extra charge of $150.
Clean BBQ after use or a fee will be charged.
If you’ve moved the furniture please put it back in place or there will be a fee charged; the cleaners can't do heavy lifting.

Charming Retreat

The location was great: connected to other cities along the Oregon coast, far enough away to be remote, a minute walk to the beach. The house was charming and comfortable, and the owners were detailed/clear with their communication. Highly recommend booking a stay.

Beautiful location!

Our stay was amazing. It was wonderful to see the beach from the home. We brought two dogs with us and had little issue aside from the fact a neighbor had dogs who barked a LOT at them. I 100% recommend this place for a future stay!

This was our third stay at the house. The house is always clean and well stocked. Love the short walk to the beach! The neighborhood is so quiet, great for walks. My family had a wonderful time as usual.

The house was 30 seconds from the beach with a view of the water from the deck. Lots of space - there were 5 adults and 2 kids in our party and we could have fitted more. Well stocked kitchen had everything we needed and more. Will definitely book it again.

Absolutely the Best VRBO Stay!

This place is amazing! Not only was everything we needed provided inside the home, but the ocean view, almost private beach in a quiet neighborhood and agate beach hunting was practically right outside our door. The home was cozy, very clean and thought out, and the owners were excellent and caring in their communication with us. If we are ever in this area again we will come again, but plan ahead because it books up quickly (understandable so). We highly recommend this place as your next vacation place.

Great beach house!

We spent Thanksgiving weekend at this property and it was wonderful! Loved the house and location. This house was probably the best stocked home I've ever rented. Lots of linens, kitchen supplies, games, DVD's too. It was a short 2-minute walk to the beach and we had 2 glorious sunny days beach walking. Thanks for sharing your home with our family!

Home Away From Home

We very much enjoyed our 2 week stay in Ted and Diane's Beach House. We liked the retro vibe! Very close to the beach access. We heard the waves crashing, which was wonderful! The kitchen is stocked with whatever you may need. You get access to the garage, which doesn't happen very often. We would definitely recommend to family and friends! Thank you, Diane and Ted for sharing your vacation home!

Accurate description of house - feels homey, but fresh and updates in baths and kitchen are on point. The kitchen is small, but very well laid out and appointed. No kids with us, but the upstairs would have been a great way to get them their own space. We didn’t eat in the neighborhood, but it was fun that their were options within walking distance. The neighborhood is peaceful and pretty.

Several of us ladies loved the retro style home, ceiling fans would be a good addition. The shades and patio furniture were a huge plus and the kitchen was well stocked. It was nice to have access to the recreation items. The pictures made it seem that we were closer to the ocean,overall very comfortable and enjoyable for our group of 7.

Wonderful Home

This home is located in in a convenient location with close access to stores, restaurants, the beach and a partial view of the ocean waves with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Diane and Ted have done a fantastic job with home layout with a fully stocked kitchen, cozy furniture layout, comfortable beds and an enjoyable deck to view the ocean and relax. We were pleased with the attention to cleanliness of everything. Communication with Diane was superb with great updates on our stay. We certainly look forward to a future stay. A well kept secret retreat in Lincoln city OR

From the booking to the responses from the owners of the property, it was effortless. The home is immaculate, and I mean CLEAN!!!! The beds were very comfy, and the use of free and clear laundry soap means no chemical flower smell on sheets and towels, a real bonus. One block from the beach entrance. The style inside is eclectic and fun, lots of room for a family (or two!) to spread out. It is quiet, off the main road by 4-5 blocks, and you can hear the boom of the surf in every room. We were close to food and hiking and beaches. We will be back!

Wonderfully quiet and relaxing

My husband, myself and two kids stayed for a week. It was a wonderful home away from home and we really enjoyed staying there. Everything is there for you, kitchen utensil, dishes, pots, pans, towels, extra pillows, deck chairs, beach chairs, etc. The two bathrooms were a major plus and the fact you could have both showers going at the same time (tankless hot water) was great! It was an easy walk 2 blocks down the beach, but be careful as you have to climb down a few rocks to get there. There is an outside hose to clean off all the sand that you carry back from the beach with you. The house was very clean and well maintained. The only negative I can say (which isn't much) is that you have to turn on a lot of lamps and light switches to get all the lights on, and the paneling makes it a little darker inside, but really...we didn't spend a lot of time inside! The kitchen was beautiful and the views were good from the main floor but even better in the upstairs family room. There were bunk beds upstairs plus 2 twin beds. Our two boys loved having the upstairs to themselves. The King bed was very comfortable and there are plenty of pillows to choose from if you don't like one of them. The neighborhood is very quiet and we didn't even know there were neighbors there. It was an easy drive to Siletz Bay and Lincoln City (4 miles) and if you are bored there...its your own fault. We will stay again if we get back to the Oregon Coast, and we fell in love with the coast, so we are hoping to get back there soon!!

This property is owned and managed by Ted and Diane Swenson in Portland, OR. They grew up in the Portland area and have happy memories of the Oregon coastline.
We like to eat out, work on the house, grill, explore the beaches, hear live music and hike. Of course just sitting on the deck listening to the waves usually take up the first couple of days!

Why they chose this property

The Lincoln City area is a great location because you can find so many things to do....From mainstream concerts in the Chinook Winds Casino, to boating, fishing, antiquing, outlet mall shopping, and night life. We love that Gleneden Beach is close to the action, but allows it's guests to leave the noisy touristy stuff behind at the end of the day.
The neighboring Salishan Golf Resort help to keep the area upscale and quiet.

What makes this property unique

Our beach house property has a view of the ocean, located on a wooded lot and is mere steps from the ocean. It is also within walking distance of two great restaurants, a brewpub, a lovely nursery, and the post office. There is a large grocery store a couple miles south on 101.
It's been our dream to have a beach getaway for ourselves and to share this house with others who appreciate the unique beauty of the Oregon coast.
We enjoy sampling the local beers and wines and trying out new restaurants. Grilling fresh fish, listening to the waves and chillin'.....These are the kind of moments that make this house such a dream. Ocean views from the kitchen make cooking enjoyable. This home includes remodeled kitchen and baths, plus the fireplace is great on a chilly night.
The short drive to Lincoln City 101 thru Siletz Bay is always pleasing with spectacular sunsets and wild life to look at along the way. There's a half mile loop at the Wildlife Refuge along the way for enjoying both river and forest, great for bird sightings. The view changes all the time and is very peaceful.
