Ski and Soak trip

Our family wanted a nice, clean house to stay at for a few days for our ski and soak trip. This home was lovely and we enjoyed everything about our trip. The owners were easy to talk to, and check in was simple. Two thumbs up!

Great spot!

This is a wonderful getaway spot with plenty of room to share with other people. The A/C took a couple days to get the house to the low 70s, but it got cooler in the evenings. It is in a great location that is about five minutes from downtown Invermere.

Great place to stay for families

We very much enjoyed our stay in Invermere. The house was perfect size for our family enough room to spread out. It was clean, comfortable, and inviting. The rooms, kitchen, and bathrooms had all the necessities to make our stay more comfortable. The house was easy to find and very accessible also. My family and I would definitely recommend renting this house. By far the best expierence we have had.

Great Location and Beautiful View

This home was perfect for our mountain bike/hiking holiday in Invermere. The home backs onto a field with access to a really long paved bike trail. The home is fairly close to town and we enjoyed the farmers market on Saturday and all the great downtown shops. The home has a gorgeous view of the mountains!

Home Away From Home

This house had everything we needed for our family on our ski vacation. My only concerns were the thermostat was set so low upon arrival that we were freezing for the first night and although the main areas of the house were clean, there was a great amount of dog hair and dust that were noticeably unattended to.

Nice location

Very nice home in a nice area. Best part was the view to the snowy field in the back where everyone in the neighborhood would walk their pups. Would have been perfect if it was better equipped with things like coffee, cooking oil, and salt and a snow shovel for the icy front steps. There were also a bunch of extra fees.

Spectacular view and very comfortable

There was so much about this place that was wonderful! We did lots of resting and walking as there are good paths in the area. The view from the kitchen and bedroom are spectacular and there are lots of comfortable chairs. It is spacious And bright. We just found that it wasn’t as clean as it could’ve been when we came and the kitchen wasn’t very well stocked in regards to the bare necessities like salt and pepper, which we went and bought and teaspoons in the drawer which we went and bought. No soap in the shower and no face cloth for washing. But those were just simple things and the rest of it was really well done! We left feeling rested and that’s why we went. We were also allowed to bring our small dog and he loved it there. Thank you! Communication with the owner was quick and easy! One suggestion: it would’ve been lovely to have the fireplace. Is it possible to put it on a timer so people can’t leave it on?

Incredible Invermere

Our 2 storey VRBO accommodation was well appointed with most everything one would need for a great vacation. Initially we thought our in-laws would come with us; they would have had their own bedroom and bath as this house could accommodate 6-7 people. We brought our Mini Schnauzer on this holiday with her own travel kennel, but the house had a huge kennel for pets. Convenient field right behind the residence to take her for quick breaks. Very neat and tidy - obviously well looked after. We appreciated the binder with "house rules" and suggestions for what do do in the area. Thank you for the great visit!

Disappointing

We arrived at 8 pm access was fine but when we went upstairs to the one bedroom there were 2 large dog poop mounds. The owner said it hadn’t happened before but no apology. After cleaning it up my husband went to flush it down the ensuite toilet which plugged. He then had to plunge the toilet. It was very cold outside the the temperature was 50 and it took until 1 am to warm the place up. The fireplace was turned off and when I asked about it we were told that we could not use it because they turned it off due to previous renters running out their propane. Would have been nice to have the option when it was freezing in the house. Some of the towels were dirty but hanging and many of the dishes were not clean. Very limited amount of larger dinner plates. There was no dishwasher tabs. The house rules to not allow even ski boots in is a bit ridiculous in cold weather as you have to dry them out. We are lucky because we have a locking truck and were able to secure things. I think owners should come up with a solution. If you look at most of the ski rentals they usually have a dedicated spot for equipment. Food for thought. Would I rent it again? If I could find something else I would prefer not to rent it again.

Quiet, comfortable, and affordable accommodation. It was great to have easy access to the open field behind the property to walk our dog. We decided to take the old west highway to Fairmont Hot Springs since it was so close --- such a pretty drive! Will bring our bikes next time.Though we were aware there was no BBQ available, it would have been nice to have access to one so that we didn't need to bring our own.

The place was fantastic…except for being able to find it. Google maps had us looking about a half mile from the correct location. It was dark, and it took us about a half hour to finally locate it. The house was beautiful, clean and well stocked with all that we needed. Great beds too.

We enjoyed our stay very much here. Thank you to our wonderful hosts. The location was in a great quiet neighborhood within walking distance to a lot of shops, parks and even bike pathway. About 5 minute drive to the lake from the house. The house was fully equipped with more than everything you need to enjoy yourselves.

About the host

We are two professionals in our late fifties and early sixties who enjoy everything about the outdoors during all seasons of the year.

Why they chose this property

This location provides us with an activity center for our hiking, quading, swimming, kayaking, rafting, water skiing, snow skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and ice skating. We are surrounded by golf courses which our friends use, but we are too busy with other activities to have time to golf.

What makes this property unique

We are avid skiers and snowboarders who frequent Kicking Horse Resort in winter. We use our boat on Lake Windermere, and enjoy bird watching in the Columbia Wetlands. We regularly go to the Saturday Farmer's Market on Main Street through July and August. We walk our dog 1.5 km down Walker Lane to the lake. One of our favorite eateries is Ray Ray's, a lovely lakeside restaurant with outside seating, excellent food and great service.
