ArtHouse Down is a 2BD, 1B duplex unit aimed at up to 4 adults who want comfort and convenience, while enjoying an artistic and unique place to stay. If you have more than 4 people in your group, you might consider adding ArtHouse Up to your reservations, as it will also accommodate 4 adults. With all the essential kitchen equipment needed to cook in or BBQ, and close to numerous Perry District restaurants, you're sure to have great meals.

We've put a desk in each bedroom, High speed Comcast Internet (download speed 226.2 mbps), ensures you'll be able to work, and stream shows and movies on the smart TV. We have a washer/dryer in the unit and supply laundry products, iron and ironing board.

Each bedroom is themed and has a super comfy queen mattress with USB ports by each bed for easy charging of your devices, and blackout curtains for a peaceful sleep. The closets are big and roomy with extra pillows and blankets.

We've also supplied board games and books for adults. There are puzzles, coloring supplies and books, and crossword books in the chest on the bottom shelf below the TV, to help make your down time more enjoyable. Or take advantage of all the fun things the Perry District and Spokane have to offer.

There is an electric fireplace for extra comfort in the cold season, separate heat thermostats for each bedroom, and main living area, temperature control on heater in bathroom, ceiling fans, and air conditioning for your comfort.

Outdoors is a delightful back yard with grape vine-covered fencing & flowers galore in the warm season. There's a large patio area with table and chairs, and extra seating and BBQ grill on the back porch. Enjoy the yard art and charming bench under a vine covered arbor, perfect for a quick cuddle and some memorable photos.

PETS: We don't just allow dogs, we love them and go the extra mile to make it a breeze for RESPONSIBLE dog-owners to bring their fur babies. I don't charge extra, but I REQUIRE that people tell me about their pets--size, breed, etc. I can provide most of what your pup will need. Woof!

If you are interested in STAYS THAT ARE LONGER THAN 28 days, please make a request, and I will contact you.

Enjoy the one-of-a-kind Art House Down with your four-footed friends, in the most interesting neighborhood in Spokane!

Nice surprise
The home is cozy and comfortable. My host my was very nice, responsive, and generous. Location is walking distance to Perry street shops, restaurants, and I think I saw some day spas too. I would definitely recommend a stay here! Thanks again

Hello! We are Lesa Delisi, a recently retired speech teacher for the Spokane Public Schools, and Dennis Thomas, a holistic veterinarian with an online practice, “Heart to Heart Holistic Healthcare for Pets”. We live a block from the ART HOUSE, and have been in the Perry District for more than 20 years. We have five children and five grandchildren, scattered across WA and TX, and lots of pets! We generally like to have fun and enjoy living in the Pacific NW.

The ART HOUSE
I have always dreamed of hosting a little “boutique” establishment, meeting travelers, and providing a great lodging experience. The Art House is a "Mom and Pop" operation, and we strive to provide the personal touches a corporate-owned rental can't provide. I love building and decorating, and since retiring from the school district, I have returned to my former career as an artist. Being able to create an inviting space for visitors to stay, while in Spokane, has been a dream come true, as I could combine my love of art with my love of decorating and hosting.

I originally bought and rescued the duplex in 2013. It was quite a wreck. It’s been completely remodeled, first for long-term leasing, and now for short-term rentals. It's always been my baby, but my husband helps out. The duplex was built in 1979 on a spare lot that was formerly the orchard and garden for the Weitensteiner family. “Father Joe” Weitensteiner was born in the charming white house to the West of the duplex, and still lives there. He’s a delightful fellow and you’ll likely see him from time to time. Many of the other neighbors are singers, musicians, artists, cooks and gardeners.

Why they chose this property

I originally moved to the Perry District to complete my Master's degree. I love the neighborhood and the eclectic vibe and decided to stay. It's close to downtown, but not too close. It has it's own character that includes great old architecture, many restaurants and shops, artists, musicians, festivals, multiple parks within walking distance, and music. Several of my neighbors were born in the Perry District, and have lived here their whole lives. It's a close-knit community.

What makes this property unique

The Art House was designed as an adult space with really unique decor, including beautiful art, antiques, and hand-built furniture. I wanted guests to have a great, comfortable place to stay at a reasonable price. I've provided most of the amenities anyone could ask for to be able to "live" in the Art House for a while. You'll have a nice back yard to enjoy the outdoors or cook a meal on the BBQ. The Perry District is full of wonderful places to eat and great little shops, so you can stay and play without having to use your car, if you choose.
