Be amazed from the extra-large deck of the penthouse suite overlooking the lake, and watch sunsets fall over the bay and color the sky. The back deck is your private place to entertain & relax overlooking all the splendor of the lake. If you want to get your feet in the sand, then head downstairs and enjoy the beach and play bags or enjoy the beach fire tables in the warmer months.
Welcome to our one-of-a-kind beach penthouse property above our beach bar that has been completely remodeled and decorated to capture the ambiance of the lake life. This amazing 3 bed /1.5 bath property has everything you need to enjoy the best of Chain O Lakes. Use our Wi-Fi to stay connected if you’d like; otherwise, take a break and enjoy fishing, boating, bags, and family board or card games! Fish right off our pier, or just relax & take in the beauty of the lake from the large second level deck. With all our beach penthouse has to offer, you`ll never want to leave! Want to get a drink? Just walk downstairs to our bar and place your order.
This remodeled modern penthouse unit is recessed above one of the most happening places on the Chain O’ Lakes. Want to bring your watercraft to enjoy the fun? Our venue is equipped with a private boat launch, piers, and even floating wave runner parking for a full lake life experience. (See OTHER THINGS TO NOTE section to view amenity fees for costs to park your watercraft during your stay)
Guests will be able to access all parts of the inside of the penthouse and the beach house upper deck. The only part of the inside of the home inaccessible is the utility closet for the cleaning company to store their supplies. The large deck on the second level is all yours.
On the lower level below the beach house is a beach bar that you are welcome to stop in if you would like during business hours. The sand beach behind the bar to the lake is all yours anytime of the day or night.
Guests will have access to the private piers to fish off, park their boats during the day, and use the wave runner parking if that’s you. (See Amenity fees below.)
Use the Airbnb app as the main way to communicate with the property managers, however we will be by the phones for emergencies from 8am to 10pm daily.
The beach house is directly on the Chain O` Lakes. It is nested back in a residential neighborhood above our beach bar.
There is parking for 4 vehicles in the shared parking lot against the tree line. Trailer parking is available upon request. A car is recommended, but Uber, Lyft and taxis are in the area to get you around. The Metra train station is 5 minutes away.
Bring your fishing gear. There is good fishing in the lake right off the piers. Our kids catch large bass, catfish, bluegill and perch right off our pier.
This is a popular place for Naval families to visit and cheer on their boot camp grads since it is only a half hour from the Great Lakes Naval base.
This beach house is designed safe and secure, and is equipped with a Smart Dead Bolt lock that controls check in and check out times, and has a door camera feature to make sure the correct guests are entering our home. All for your safety and to protect our home. There is also a general security camera monitoring the stairs case up to the unit.
Trailer Parking is available for those bringing your watercraft. You will be allotted a max of 4 vehicles per guest stay. Please do not exceed the limit. Guests should park to the right along the treeline.
It is $25 for your entire stay to use our wave runner parking or leave your boat tied up to our piers system. Please let us know far in advance to your check-in if interested.
NOTE - It is important to note that the waters are open and waves can get pretty rough when larger boats go by, especially on the weekends. It is not recommended to keep your boat parked overnight at our piers, but to take it out on your trailer every night. When parked at the pier system in the day, make sure to have your boat properly tied up and all fenders sitting properly so your boat is not damaged from the crashing waves.
NOTE2 – This property does sit directly above the beach bar. Expect a happening day and nightlife vibe happening right underneath you during this stay. The music can be heard upstairs until the closing of the bar. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this property may not be suitable for your vacation needs, and we welcome you to view our other properties in more remote locations. Fox Lake is located in Lake County, IL, a vibrant county nestled along 25 miles of shorline of Lake Michigan on its eastern border and the state of Wisconsin along its northern border. Lake County offers a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts, with nearly 31,000 acres to explore in 65 different forests preserves. There are 170 lakes in the County in whole, thus the name `Lake County`. This is a golfers paradise with 46 golf courses to enjoy. Lake County is a happening place with theme parks, water parks, a 2-mile long mall, dozens of historic downtown areas, and so much more. This home is a non-partying, non-event penthouse style property on top of the Beach House Bar. Enjoy the nightlife vibe and music and stay on the property. Please respect our neighbors. Max occupancy is 6 adults (and 2 children for a total of 8). The ordinance is (2) adults per bedroom, and there are 3 bedrooms. Do not exceed the ordinance or you can face a $500 fine.
It is unlawful to unreasonably disturb the peace and quiet of those in their homes and public places; and Quiet hours are between 11:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Sun -Thurs and 12 a.m.- 8 a.m. Fri and Sat, though noise regulations are in force twenty-four (24) hours each day.
No loud music, screaming or yelling. Please be respectful of your noise level always. Sounds travels near the water, so please gauge your noise levels. (There is db decibel meters installed on this property to alert the owners if the sound levels have exceeded what is allowed.)

The host did a great job communicating what would be needed for the stay. The place was very clean and conveniently located in a quiet area. Definitely will consider returning in the summer
This was a fantastic stay. If ever I am back in Chicagoland, this is where I am staying. So much fun and convenient to the northeast suburbs of the city, including Waukegan and Gurnee. Not for anyone who is looking for peace and quiet. The bar is hopping with the locals eager to welcome you to chit chat and share a drink or two. Bring ear plugs if you want to go to bed before 2am. So much needed fun and relaxation, all overlooking a beautiful lake. Who can ask for anything more!
Nice and clean place. Great communication with owners. They fixed issues immediately. So it is above a BAR. So not QUIET. If you go to bed early not for you. There are 23 stairs going up to the place so if have trouble with stairs also would not recommend it. It is 1 1/2 baths so if need 2 or more showers then take a pass, plus the half bath is back in a bedroom so have to disturb someone to use it. Twin beds are more of kid size or short person size. If need a place to sleep 6 and have fun then this place could be for you. If need peace and quiet then take a pass.

A little confused by your review though. You are basically repeating how we already describe the property. We are very clear that this above a Beach bar and may have some weekend noise if that is the vibe you want. We already state 1.5 bathrooms in the listing. We already list that bedroom 2 has two twin beds. It sounds like you maybe did not read the listing and therefore these things suprised you? Eitherway, we are glad you had a great time. If you need more bathrooms or R&R in the future, contact us about other available lakeview properties that are set up for that.
