About this property

The Horseshoe Cabin--15 minutes to historic Fredericksburg or Kings Dominion VA

Nestled in farm country, yet 15 minutes to historic Fredericksburg or to Kings Dominion, The Horseshoe Pond boasts 2-bedrooms (sleeps four), full kitchen, 2 baths, 2 TVs (DirectTV sports), Starlink internet, W/D, patio w/ bar-b-que and wood firepit. Close to sightseeing, famous battlefields, or stay "home," grab a canoe, fish, play horseshoes, cards, soccer, or just sit back and relax and enjoy listening to the happy sounds of your children playing in the tree house or in the sand. For those visitors without children, relax In the evening under the stars around the firepit toasting s'mores, and listening to the hushed sounds of the fountain, before enjoying a good nights sleep!

The space
This private getaway is a two-bedroom, two-bath cabin that sleeps four. It is beautifully decorated in antiques and authentic Civil War era memorabilia collected by its previous owners, but boasts modern bath/kitchen, a treehouse for that leftover youthful energy, games, books, puzzles, and a drawer full of movies. Fishing poles and lures, balls, games are in the shed.

Guest access
We want you to enjoy the entire cabin and grounds. There is keyless entry front and rear, and a ramp for rolling in those suitcases. You'll enter from a private driveway hidden in the trees and access the Cabin with your personal key code.

Other things to note
We ask only that children be accompanied by adults when outside the Cabin, since it is only natural they will want to climb the treehouse and investigate the pond. You can canoe or fish , but cannot swim in the pond.

Adorable nod to history
What a wonderful stay at a lovely house! My fiancé and I came in town to visit the Bowman distillery with his parents. It was our first time visiting the area. The land around the house was beautiful, peaceful and serene. There were several historic sites in the area to visit as well. Even though it is winter, there was an abundance of wildlife around. There was a porch and firepit area to sit and enjoy the views of the horseshoe pond. The house was well stocked. We took full advantage of the dual coffee pot and variety of selections offered. The fireplace was electric but still put off some nice heat as we enjoyed watching movies in the living area. The house is decorated with historic artifacts and was really fun for our family to checkout. They had lots of games and things for kids to do as well. I’d recommend going downtown to some of the restaurants as there are lots of options to choose from. Loved this house and will definitely be back!
