We had a great time staying here. Very nice inside and out. Loved the bedrooms! Pet friendly and my English bulldog loved barking at the black bear small seat in the living room.
We had an amazing stay at the property. The home was comfortable and had so many amenities! The view was gorgeous!Would recommend if looking for a comfortable stay for family, friends, or alone time!
We absolutely loved this place! It was very clean, well stocked, and extremely conveniently located to a lot of places. The owners were very responsive, friendly, and helpful! We will definitely book here again.
An excellent location, beautiful scenery and a lovely home. Lots of animals to see and also birds. The elks are especially fun to watch. Will definitely stay again if available next year.
The hosts are very good at communicating with you and making sure you are comfortable. If you need anything they are there to help. The house is great! Location, furnishings, and affordability is what you’re getting when you rent this house as well as caring hosts. We definitely recommend staying here.
The views are definitely amazing and spectacular if you decide to go to Maggie Valley and just want to sit on the porch and look at gorgeous fuse all day long. This is the place if you’re coming for an adventure also, the place this home was very comfortable very clean Perfect layout private bathroom for each bedroom. The road is a little rough coming up a car that is lower to the ground that would have difficulty or if heavy snow we had no issues with a 2 Wheel Dr. ram 1500 will be looking to stay here again.
We selected this property for a quick trip! Wonderful views, very clean, no complaints! There was an issue with the access code but the manager contacted us immediately and resolved our problem! Great communication - we're hoping to stay here again. Getting to the see the community elk was a plus to our visit!
The property was very dog friendly, which was necessary for me. I love the gated porch with it being full enclosed. This made it really easy, safe, and worry free to sit on the porch with my dog and just enjoy the beautiful mountains. The house was clean and inviting. The kitchen had an abundance of supplies. I felt very safe there but would’ve loved if all the sliding doors had extra safety measures added to them. Note to future guests: the neighborhood drive to the property is half very smooth paved (like new) and half steep older paved with multiple potholes to navigate around. I made it work in a Prius and was able to carefully avoid potholes. The property driveway is paved, flat, and free of potholes. Overall, it was a fabulous stay!
We had a really good stay, the house was good and clean with plenty of room. My only complaint is the driveway getting to the house. We were there specifically for the MiniTruck Nationals, so our vehicle sits low, and the potholes in the driveway were so bad that we would scrape the undercarriage and when we tried to go around some of the holes, we ended up scratching a 500 wheel that is irreplaceable because they no loner make them. In the description it states that you are driving into a paved driveway, which is correct, but the road to that driveway is terrible! I would highly recommend that you put this in your listing or at least know when events like this are going on in the area so that you can let people know who are wanting to rent the house. If it weren't for the road leading up to the house, we would have booked it again for next year.
we go up to the mountains five to six time a year we enjoy our trips but this trip was uncomfortable.felt like we was in a house that a family staying in.Alot of stuff in the refrigerator never stayed in a place where we shared a refrigerator. felt uncomfortable cooking the the kitchen.Car in the driveway never saw anything like this before.packing drop off on the porch. Hope my next stay in the mountains won't be uncomfortable. This was our first time that me and my hushand was uncomfortable in a place that we rented we will not be renting this place again.

We appreciate your feedback and are so sorry that you felt uncomfortable in the house. It appears that perhaps you didn’t read the listing description prior to booking your stay? No portion of the house is shared with anyone else.
The owners do leave a car in the carport for when they fly into the area, and that is written in the listing. The condiments in the fridge were left as a courtesy in case our guests forget to purchase or pack something and is meant to be a gesture of hospitality.
We only wish you had responded to a single one of our communications and expressed a concern so that we may have had the opportunity to help clarify your confusion. We wish you well and are grateful for the many guests that stay and love the Lazy Bear Lodge.
