About this property

Mid-Century Beach Lodge- 1 Block to Beach!

It is all about good vibes and sunshine at this fabulous 70's beach pad with authentic MCM furnishings and skylights. There are numerous welcoming and comfortable spaces indoors and out for gathering and for intimate connection at this very special house. It has an open concept kitchen/dining/living room + loft, west-facing deck, and east-facing enclosed back yard. Schoolhouse Beach is just one block away- whether you want to swim, sunbathe or walk along the water's edge as the sun sets over the Channel Islands. Or you can enjoy sunset from west-facing living room deck. There is room for everyone to dine indoors (the dining table seats 10) or outdoors, where the table seats 12. Evenings are magical in the tree-lined yard around the fire pit. Vons, Starbucks, restaurants + a surf shop for rentals and lessons are all easily walkable. The bedrooms are quiet and cozy. The kitchen has a very practical layout and is fully stocked; it's equally easy to cook at the house, order in, or walk to neighborhood restaurants. The outdoor garden shower is a nice warm-up after visits to the beach. There is plenty of space in the garage for surfboards and wetsuits. We provide 2 bikes and a long foam board. The room with twin beds has toys and some kids' books. San Buenaventura State Beach with the bike path to Ventura Pier is at one end of our neighborhood, and Marina Park with Ventura Harbor is at the other end. Downtown Ventura is a short drive or bike ride. This is a wonderful house, near a beautiful beach, in a vibrant city. A perfect spot to make great memories. STVR Permit #2502.

Great stay by the beach with all the best Mid Century touches!
We stayed at the Mid Century Beach Lodge for a weekend, and we can't wait to go back! We were a big group of 3 families and we all fit nicely. We stuck the kids in one room, and the adults each got their own room. The kids LOVED the loft, they took their toys straight up there and played. We had a baby with us, and thankfully there was a baby gate so we could block the staircases. But the kids aside, the adults had a wonderful time! The main floor had great space to lounge, and the kitchen was well labeled and stocked. The chef in our group was delighted by the many spice options as he worked to cook us delicious meals. We found everything we needed in the house, and for those who love a good Mid Century this house is decorated so well! The location of course is the best part, being one block from the beach. We spent the weekend running back and forth to the beach with ease, and you are a short drive to downtown. Such a wonderful house, definitely our new favorite in our favorite beach town!

Charming Stay with Nostalgic Charm at Pierpont
Our recent stay at Pierpont was a wonderful experience filled with nostalgia and comfort. The old-school décor reminiscent of Ventura's heritage added a charming touch that felt like a trip down memory lane. Located conveniently, it served as a perfect base for accommodating family members during a difficult time as we organized my mom's memorial service. Tim's responsiveness through messaging was commendable, ensuring our needs were promptly met. The thoughtful labeling of amenities streamlined our food preparation process, making our stay even more convenient. Moreover, being on the beach side of Ventura provided a refreshing change, offering new perspectives even for someone familiar with the east side. Overall, our stay at Pierpont was delightful, and I would not hesitate to choose it again for future family gatherings. It truly encapsulated the essence of Ventura's charm and hospitality.

Great location in Ventura
The house was in a great location and close to the beach, parks and a few restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked and we grilled and cooked a couple meals at the house. There are a couple bikes that were great to ride the bike trails and to the parks on the ocean. We had more than enough room and we were super comfortable hanging out at the house. The queen beds upstairs were very comfortable. The back yard was a great space to hang out. This is a perfect place for a group or a family with kids.

We have been dedicated hosts since 2010, and we pride ourselves on curating our spaces and serving our guests.

Why they chose this property

When we are in Pierpont, we don't ever want to leave. Sure, downtown Ventura is charming, but we have everything we need in this peaceful, humble neighborhood. Not flashy or fancy, just laid back. When we are here, all that matters is the sunrise, the tide charts, good food, and good company.

What makes this property unique

The warmth, openness, and optimism of the late 1970's permeates the whole house, which is why we kept most of its original features. Coming up the stairs into the sun-drenched living space never fails to lift our spirits. We love the combination of common areas, both indoors and outdoors, and that they are east and west-facing. It is a house that is built to guide you through each day, from sunrise to sunset, which is one reason our time here always feels so special.
